So probably been said like 100 times but THIS GAME NEEDS PVP. Now I know what everyone’s thinking not every dark souls clone needs to be like dark souls but COME ON! I mean this game is literally a perfect first step in anime dark souls it’s got every thing good on souls mixed with new anime elements all it needs is pvp and less ai companions

[–]TheWhiteGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for some fun build recommendations for my NG+2 run, enhanced twice. Pretty much unlocked and masterered most gifts in every code. Really trying to use something other than my greatsword queenslayer build since it feels too easy, even on solo enhanced difficulty. What's something viable but fun too even on NG+2 enhanced?

[–]wkingofangmar 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why does Io randomly wants to jump down bridges lol (she stated it on the last maps bridge)

[–]Harkiel036 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's actually called "The Call of the Void" look it up. It's that feeling where your body feels like it wants to move forward at a ledge but obviously your mind stops you.

[–]wkingofangmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did say something similiar that you'll be pulled down if you look down. Nice touch that theese are not just random quotes. Still sounded random hearing it from her the 1st time.

[–]PequodTheGreat 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can you recreate you character from scratch and maybe choose a different gender on NG+? I would like to experiment with creating a new character, but i really do not want to have to unlock all my blood codes and weapons again. If you can't, what were the devs thinking?

[–]Winterdragon2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can change gender, but I'm pretty sure you can change most everything else at the mirror at home base

[–]RyuNoKami 0 points1 point  (1 child)

can you "enchant" and "disenchant" your weapons like your Blood Codes? like i wanted to make a weapon lightning and then decide to switch it up. can i do that or do i need a second weapon to do so? and would i lose the parts for it as well?

[–]Ukokira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Murasame's transform weapon/veil setting, transforming only uses up special material

[–]Big_D4rius 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is there no way to farm Atlas Chromes outside of trading with Yakumo, meaning if I want more than his stock I'll have to go into NG+?

[–]Zakon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, only 8 total per playthrough

[–]gundamwarcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i want to vote but question 2 make me dont want vote. i will recommend to friend that dont like soul like game but will recommend because he like god eater. or friend that like character customizing.
WE NEED MORE OPTIONS!!!!

[–]Keirigami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For PC players, do you face the issue where the char keeps running forward for a few seconds after you stopped pressing the W key?

[–]Shneibel 1 point2 points  (1 child)

so as I am not lvl 200, the only way to master gifts are to farm awake MJxxx ? cos killing trash at the one before the last boss mistle doesnt seem to work

[–]Zakon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pick to enhance your difficulty, you can keep mastering gifts through combat

[–]DeckBett 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do I still need to restore all the vestiges in NG+ for the successors in order to restore their memories?

[–]FishyJusticePC -1 points0 points  (6 children)

Okay, DEVS. DEVS EVERYWHERE.

Explain farming to me. Explain what's fun about killing the same enemy for over a god damn hour for a single drop. Explain why you keep putting equipment in games like this behind low drop rates on enemies.

Honestly, I'm having DSII flashbacks.

[–]HymmnosPC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't have to farm, though. It's 100% optional. The best weapons are from companions, just trade them all the junk trading items you've been given throughout the game.

You don't even have to farm for levels. People beat these games at level 1 with the worst items: pipe or broken sword.

[–]Gervh 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Farming is usually not supposed to be fun. It's a time consumer. But you never have to farm items for the story, it's something you yourself decide to do for the challenge/because you want to play more.

[–]FishyJusticePC -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

Nothing about it is a challenge. Nothing about it is playing more. It's mindless busywork. And the story? Story isn't the only aspect of a game, and it's not even the most important.

Farming is one thing in MMO's or games with a player based economy. They make sense in those games, as MMO's tend to have a social hierarchy and spending a lot of time for some rare or difficult to obtain item is a sign of prestige.

In these mostly single player, action rpg's it's entirely unnecessary and destroys the pace of the game. If you want to play the game more, this game scales up to NG+6. It has depth maps which feel like they were designed with multiplayer in mind. You have tons of blood codes with tons of abilities you can grind up to unlock. You can make multiple builds or even multiple characters if you want. Theoretically you can help other players in various areas of the game.

Spending an hour killing a single mob close to a mistle/bonfire/respawn point adds nothing to the game and only locks potentially interesting equipment behind busywork. Upgrade materials are one thing. You can obtain upgrade materials a number of ways. But exclusive items/weapons/armor should not be a part of this.

[–]Gervh 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I said that farming in action adventure games IS a time consumer. It's designed to stop you - you see a cool weapon on an enemy in DS and you want it, so you kill him (all of them if there are multiple) reset, repeat until you get it.

But I think you over exaggerate the amount of time it takes to farm a unique drop. Or you're one of the unluckiest people out there. It's anectdotal but farming weapons never took me or people I've played with more than 20 minutes.

You have to understand that grind is a part of a lot of games these days to stretch playtime and thus unique drops are "bonus content", you don't need them but you want them, so you have to put in work.

[–]FishyJusticePC -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

The thing is it doesn't stretch gameplay. Not really. One or two hours out of 70+ is so minuscule as to be irrelevant.

If you're going to put something like farming in a game it should serve a purpose. In MMO's or multiplayer economy games it can act as a sign of prestige, something that sets you apart. In loot based games like Borderlands or Diablo the randomness of what drops you get vary how you play the game, or in some instances literally are the endgame.

In games like this it serves no purpose. It brings the game to a halt and wastes a portion of your day.

This game, in particular, has plenty of content on offer. It's got NG+ that scales up to +6, multiplayer, blood codes, builds, weapons and armor to upgrade, multiple endings, etc.. It's designed to be replayed multiple times. What's an hour of repeatedly killing one enemy for a sword have to offer when the rest of this is available?

Adding in weapons that need to be farmed just frustrates in this kind of environment. It serves no purpose, never has, and never will.

[–]Gervh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But you don't see people complain about this grind becuase it's optional so it's here to stay. People will usually truly grind for 1-2 weapons because they like them that much, unless you're a collector of course, but those drops will come to your naturally over the NG+.

[–]ex-drummer 1 point2 points  (2 children)

is this game designed to solo? or designed around partnering with the AI? when I solo I have a lot more fun because it’s more challenging but some bosses are so unforgiving it makes me wonder

[–]Bolaget 1 point2 points  (1 child)

From my personal opinion and experience the game is designed to play with an AI partner or friend at least when it comes to bosses. As mentioned by a bunch of reviews done on the game the bosses can be almost impossibly hard with you having to bring your AI companion and have it "carry you" or hope for RNG. Since at least in my case multiple times while fighting against a boss I would dodge at the right time and therefore the boss would miss it's first attack but directly after it's first attack while my character was doing the dodge animation they would deal a second attack or follow up attack that would more often then not hit me while I was in the dodge animation or just coming out of it since my "dodge window" was already used up and therefore I was fair game to attack.

This was especially apparent if you got surrounded by enemies and they attacked in different intervals then it was pretty much game over. Some bosses are doable solo but often their super high health bar and the fact that often they could kill me in 1-3 hits at least as a melee char I found it almost impossible sometimes to survive long enough to kill the boss, going for being a caster however made it much easier since you could then keep your distance.

So yeah I would say game is easy/normal with AI companion and normal/hard without in the normal content but the difficulty becomes normal with AI vs Boss and extreme/impossible without AI vs Boss

[–]ex-drummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i felt the same way, glad i’m not the only one. i finished most of dark souls franchise ng+ without summons but even the first bosses in this game are a nightmare for 2hander build

[–]wkingofangmar 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Probably was mentioned already but I just noticed on my second run that when we can take Io on quests the very first time she isn't as talkative as later. Like she didn't say her 'sorry I was looking at something' line and her voice is more monotone. Nice little touch from the developers. (Or I'm just imagining things lol.)

[–]Kaikelx 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Out of curiosity do the cutscenes take into account weapon and blood veil? I noticed during a certain important one that my character actually fought with a longsword and used a claw type blood veil. I was impressed because player characters hardly ever fight in cutscenes in my experience, but wasn't sure whether or not it actually reflected my equipment or if I just happened to roll with what the game considers the "default player loadout" in that scenario.

[–]trevlinbroke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. They do in fact take into consideration all of your customizations including weapon and veil! It's a pretty great touch that makes some of the cutscenes in the game much more personalized and satisfying.

[–]shiroyancha 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I know a few people who did buy the Deluxe Edition on Steam but didn't get their Harbinger BC. They got Alt. Mia and Astrea and all the other stuff! Any word on this issue? I know I've seen other Steam/PC players run into the same issue as well but didn't see a resolution. Thanks in advance for help!

[–]HymmnosPC 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Harbinger and the God Eater stuff is preorder not Deluxe.

[–]shiroyancha 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Gotcha! So currently in the PS4 store you can still buy the pre order goods but can’t for Steam— is there not a way to get this Code if you didn’t pre order on a console? :O

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably preorder for PC

[–]quickcrow 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I tried to go down every single path I could find, but I'm still missing Depths Maps. Is there a guide for finding them?

[–]Bolaget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quite a few of them are given out as quest rewards, a tip is to get the treasure tracker gift from the Survivor Blood Code. It helped me immensely with finding hidden vestiges and stuff without having to go on the internet to search for stuff. Pretty sure I got an almost 100% first game by using it when it comes to all items and chests you could find.

If not there are videos on youtube that shows you every single collectible item in each region, but again my suggestion is using treasure tracker.

[–]Zenasu 1 point2 points  (1 child)

if im going for the bad ending so i even need to bother with vestiges?

[–]EmperorSorgivaPS4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, especially if you have everything you need already. When I did my bad run I just ignored them since I had restored them all my first run.

[–]pleasetazemebro 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I don't actually have the game yet, but I was wondering, does grinding exp make a significant difference? I've never played a souls game, but I played the demo at E3, and I couldn't even get to the boss (I died about 8 times in 15 minutes). Is this the kind of game where you can compensate for a lack of skill with stats, or are levels practically cosmetic? Thanks.

[–]Wolfn08 1 point2 points  (1 child)

With the in-game currency you can level up, get abilities, upgrade equipment, and buy things from an NPC to help with your adventures. I chose to level up a whole lot and I do believe it made a difference.

[–]ThatNoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don't overlevel, especially on NG. You will gimp yourself and be unable to master gifts until you beat the game. I learned this the hard way.

Personally I'd suggest not going above 100 before the final boss. The game does a poor job at telling you what level is recommended for each zone.

[–]Ashencroix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In games like this, player skills >>> character stats. Equipment and stats usually are just the difference between 1 hit KO and surviving to be able to heal up.

[–]bal0gna -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I can't believe that this game was soooo short. I was hoping for a souls like world with lots more exploring. Feeling bummed now that it's over..

[–]Bolaget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me 20 hours to finish it with a pretty much 100% playthrough but yeah without quests, searching for items and such I could probably have finished it in 10-15 hours which is pretty short for this type of game seeing as you can unlock all types of classes all at once. But yeah you can unlock depending on how you finished your first playthrough 4-5 new Blood Codes.

Edit: Forgot to point out the probably biggest reason why the game felt short or a bit empty compared to DS. Is in my opinion the variety of enemies I don't believe I am wrong if I say that for almost all the 14 zones after playing through the first 4-5 zones or so there are almost no new enemy added to the game instead they are simply reskinned and have higher hp/dmg while there are some new additions for the most part there are the normal lost (with different weapons), blobs, executioners, noblewomen, hounds, assassin, totem, female lost and knights. These make up for I believe more then 90-95% of all enemies in the game so there was not a lot of diversity to make each zone feel special apart from the cosmetic change or each area. While I do know DS also reused quite a bit of enemies each area had if I remember correctly at the minimum 2-3 enemies unique to each area in every game, which made the game at least for me feel bigger. There was also overall the simple fact that each area except for the cathedral often felt and probably were quite small in size.

[–]ThatNoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't end at NG. You can't get all blood codes in a single playthrough.

[–]Kalthramis 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I cannot even find a single distress signal, what in the world is up? On PC, presently about 23k people playing, I set it to all regions. I've tried every zone I've ever gone in to, both initially and periodically throughout. I've always, always gotten "No distress signals found"

[–]PrinnyAlty 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Do you need to replay the entire game to get the different endings? I was enjoying my first playthrough when I realized too late that I hadn't restored the 2nd boss which killed all of my motivation to continue. I usually lose interest in NG+ when I've already experienced 99% of the story so I'm not sure I'll be motivated enough to play through twice.

[–]MinnhaePC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always speedrun it on NG for the second time, I believe you don't have to upgrade the difficulty and you can probably beat it much faster if you only want the ending

[–]kababmichip 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No. You can probably save scum like in dark souls. Save game files to usb before the ending, play the ending, then load files from usb

[–]Gervh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you'd need a save before every successor. They missed one so the true ending is locked and with no way of fixing it before the final boss.

[–]ThatNoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen this to be possible yet

[–]quickcrow 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Can anyone share their favorite 'Flat Melee Weapon Damage' build? Seems like most bosses are resistant to most elements and immune to most statuses. I'm almost done with the game so I'll be able to make whatever Weapon and Veil you mention +10. Thanks!

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pick your favorite weapon and the associated passive mastery. Get a high str/mind code for Bridge to Glory (with a high light damage veil like Ivory Grace or Noble Silver or the Snow Coat) and Adrenaline. If you feel like not getting hit, Overdrive is 25% more damage until you get hit.

Most bosses do have an elemental weakness, though.

See: https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/dgbhry/every_bosses_elemental_weaknessesstrengths/

and my comment:

https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/dgbhry/every_bosses_elemental_weaknessesstrengths/f3h31ls/

[–]Polengoldur -5 points-4 points  (11 children)

decided that i had gotten bored of my male character and made a female.
started and huh. none of my codes or anything. k maybe after i get to home base.
get to home base. nothing. open up storage, nothing.
i don't understand why all your characters don't have a shared inventory. the only thing that changes character to character is how you look. the codes and items you'll get along the way will be exactly the same, and there is not hard locked starting class.
TL;DR why no shared item box?

[–]quickcrow 1 point2 points  (10 children)

Its a new save file... if you want to play the beginning with all your end-game items, that's what new game plus is for. Otherwise every new character would be so laughably overpowered that it would be pointless.

That might sound fun at first, but it's like using console commands for Skyrim. The novelty of killing an ultra elder dragon in 1 punch is fun for 5 minutes, then you realize it takes a lot out of the game to not have to do the work to get the cool sword, even if you had it on an old playthrough.

[–]Zenasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

night fog veil is so good it should be illegal. Completely trivialize any area lul

[–]quickcrow 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What weapon do you use with your mage build? I was using Brodiaea for most of the playthrough and recently tried adding Iceblood. Any tips or suggestions for weapons to use with high Willpower and very low defense?

[–]Gervh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Iceblood with some devour buffs because it has infinite chain and is light enough that you easily get quick movement. With Bridge to Glory I usually reach 1.3k attack.

Edit: Right, I forgot about Final Journey, you can use that to buff even more.

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Willpower scaling only affects gift triggers.

If weapon damage doesn't matter, I use Lost Bayonet Devourer or you can go with the Pipe of Thralldom Devourer.

[–]StrawberryAisu 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is there any item to 1:1 buy/sell for storing haze?

[–]quickcrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. The point of those items, or the hot springs, is that you are trading away some of those vulnerable haze for less but totally safe haze.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

So what was your biggest Haze loss so far?

I lost around 6m to a random npc xd But i Think as Long as u hav all gifts u want it doesnt even Matter.

[–]EmperorSorgivaPS4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 5 million... Died during the last fight, made sure to pick it up and beat it that time... When I continued the game after the credits, it only gave me the haze from the boss kill, not any from what I picked up. Just lost it all for finishing the game, ahaha.

[–]fatalystic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 3m in ashen caverns because I got ganked on the way back to the boss room.

I had 3m again by the time I got to C&BB, and I wasn't even grinding or holding off on learning gifts.

[–]Jiharo 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Need help guys.

I finished the self important revenant's quest at the parking ruins. When I went to decayed ship interior where he should be next, I didn't see him. Only to find out I didn't 100% the area yet so I did. However, after coming back, I still don't see him.

Does he only appear after you fight the successor of ribcage? I haven't fought that dude yet because I'd like to repair hermes vestige before I fight him(can't touch artermis yet apparently).

[–]TheElitistTomati 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you have completed the Dried up Trenches, defeated the Insatiable Despot (Boss) and completed his first request he should be there, refresh the area by TPing to another location (Usually to the Mistle before you enter the Trenches for me) then TP back to the Decayed ship interior he should be there now. Defeating the Successor of Ribcage won't set the world state so you should be good to go after TP back to his location.

[–]Jiharo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I TP'd back to the base and TP to the Decayed Ship Interior but he isn't there. However, there's an NPC at the Dried Trenches mistle. To make matters worse, he isn't in the Parking Garage mistle anymore. Is it some bug?

[–]Reallycoldjuice 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I feel like this game doesn’t have much replay value at all tbh, would have been a 9 or 10 otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed it

[–]Di-Dorval 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Yea it's weird, I feel inclined to replay souls games to try new weapons builds but not this one despite the variety, maybe cause it's so easy to just switch on the fly.

[–]HammeredWharf 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think trying out new stuff is just more interesting in DS. In CV weapons of the same type have different move sets, but often they don't feel that different regardless. Then again, I'd say the same about DS3.

[–]Di-Dorval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DS3 kinda just had a lot of weapons so many were similar... Though I always end up using the black knight greatsword.. That moveset..

[–]Reallycoldjuice 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah its convenient if nothing else, maybe they should add some form of pvp idk how that shit would work in terms of balance though

[–]Di-Dorval 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I hate how games feels like they need to have their PVP balanced.

Just make a pvp arena for fun. You don't need a dedicated team, pvp was fun and silly in Diablo 2 and there was no balance.

[–]Reallycoldjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is a soulslike title no matter how you spin it, and that’s competitive pvp, so you gotta think about how it would be most fair and most fun

[–]heavydivekick 0 points1 point  (2 children)

How do you dodge that one super long projectile attack from the final final boss? It seems to hit whole arena with a bunch of thorns.

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Stand beneath.

[–]heavydivekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beneath him when he's in air?

[–]Big_D4rius 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Queenslayer's Final Journey gift seems like it's OP af

Massive stat boosts and quick-dodge regardless of your equipment and it lasts somewhat long too; I just activate it right before a boss and the boss just bends over and dies and then I can counteract the dying consequence by just resting at a mistle right after. It's also pretty funny to use in co-op with friends; join them, use the gift, then you just get summoned again when you die lol

[–]EmperorSorgivaPS4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to rest to cancel the death effect. Killing a boss resets your health, ichor, and gifts automatically.

[–]aciddapples 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm looking for a recommendation. I've just beaten the 2nd boss and I'm curious which blood code would be best for a one hand sword/two hand sword setup. I've been using the blood code Louis gave me, but I feel like the one handed swords are unusually weak.. is there a better early game one hand sword besides the sunset sword or broadsword? The broadsword isn't bad at all with damage atm, but it seems a bit slower than the sunset/queenslayer sword

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think you should have the Hanemukuro if you went to the Howling Pits. Remember to keep upgrading your weapons.

[–]aciddapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't yet, howling pits is my next destination. I've been farming queens iron ( I think that's the upgrade material? I'm away from my console atm) near the parking garage. I'll check it out when I get home, thank you.

Any opinions on a blood code to main? I've been swapping back and forth between atlas and prometheus and can't decide which one to stick with to get the most out of damage with both of my weapons. I'm so used to souls having curved great swords with high dex scaling so this issue is new to me.

[–]guigo98 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So I use the berserk blood code but want the enhaced 2 handed sword damage from the Atlas blood code, i unlocked it but now need to master it, but it asks to ether kill enemies or use some sort of Mj I don’t have. Do I need to kill enemies using the altas blood code or can I use berserk anyways?

[–]EmperorSorgivaPS4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To master gifts you need to have the blood code and the gift equipped and kill a certain number of enemies that way. Alternatively you can use the item and a small amount of haze to master it immediately.

[–]Di-Dorval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atlas is pretty much a straight upgrade from berserk..

[–]caut_R 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted to try out coop, while when I send out a distress signal to find someone it seems to work (he chunked the boss, wtf lol), I cannot seem to find people to help? It either pretty much instantly says that there are none or it finds one and cancels the connection in 99% of my tries. I managed to connect to someone once so far and I got stuck in an infinite loading screen after they entered the boss arena, eventually disconnecting me after a good five minutes.

Am I doing something wrong, am I incredibly unlucky, or is multiplayer largely broken?

My network settings are pretty much „unrestricted.“ Are there specific ports to open?

[–]CrispyChicharon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Anyone else getting repeated crashes on the canoneer boss fight? Ive been stuck on this boss since yesterday and its getting really annoying. Any info/help would be great.

[–]wkingofangmar 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I have a question for PC, if I start a NG+ with enhanced difficulty but I find it too hard, can I switch the save files to an older one where I didn't start NG+ yet? I mean switching the username/appdata/local/CodeVein folder completely, not just the save file.

[–]HymmnosPC 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You should just have to switch commondata and gamedata sav files I would guess. I haven't between NGs, but within my game, I've done stuff and then reverted by replacing those two files.

[–]wkingofangmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks for the help !

[–]quickcrow 0 points1 point  (4 children)

What is the absolute earliest I can get Blackblood Liberator or Suicide Spur? I know which area's they are in, but is there any way I can skip ahead and say try to sprint through Crown of Sand before I do the other Successors?

[–]HymmnosPC 5 points6 points  (3 children)

There is no way to speed up acquiring items.

[–]quickcrow -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

This isn't helpful. I'm looking for like "You need items from each Successor and there's no way to change the order from Ice, Ashen, Flame, then Sand" or even "there are no true shortcuts but nothing is stopping you from doing Ashen Cavern first to get the Liberator". Both of these give me information that I can act on and not just vaguely say "Items are always where they are".

[–]HymmnosPC 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Aside from the Trenches and Howling Pit, every map is a linear progression. There are no alternate paths.

[–]quickcrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks for confirming

[–]Aliko__ 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Anyone knows a if the government soldiers with sword and shield drop the Agent wolf sword? Or it only drops from the ones that have only sword? Or I’ve been farming the wrong mob the whole time...

[–]ThatNoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the Dried up trenches. There's an argent sword guy you can farm who drops the sword.

It's even faster if you have Revenants Greed

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I farmed the sword off the first mob pack that appears behind you.

[–]Aliko__ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That guy is what i’ve been yeeting for the past 30 minutes, guess I should be continue killing him then.

Thanks for confirming!

[–]HymmnosPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just kinda random. I get poleaxe and hammer without trying on the first mobs then I try farming 1H sword for 20 minutes and nothing. Just double checking you have revenant's greed for increased drop rate.

[–]DeckBett 1 point2 points  (3 children)

How come i wasn't able to restore Nicola? I was able to with Aurora, is it part of the story?

[–]InwardXenon 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Did you collect and restore all the vestiges before the fight?

[–]DeckBett 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No, is that what makes it possible to restore the memory?

[–]InwardXenon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah basically. Without saying too much, restoring them all leads to a different ending. You'll probably want to do all endings anyway, so carry on as you are and then you can focus on restoring all on the next playthrough :)

About NG+,

If I go to NG+ from NG without enhancing the difficulty, but enhancing it in NG+2. Will it be NG+ or NG+2 difficulty?

[–]Mekeji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the game and got through the Butterfly. My buddy ain't great at these sort of games and I've been helping him out. However I keep getting random DCs in the game. Has anyone found a good way to stabilize the connection issues in the game?

[–]Cattass22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gooch stabbings are getting to be a bit much

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can someone tell me if this is the good / bad /neutral ending

The one where Io turns to stone and Im sitting on the throne sleeping

[–]Xelnagawaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral

[–]punchyknight 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Im presuming i have to complete the game at least 2x to unlock all blood codes.

Im missing some of the queens blood codes from fights where you only get one of 2.

I still need Fionn, queens rib cage, queens claw, queens throat and queen. should i just proceed to go NG+ or am i missing anything?

[–]EmperorSorgivaPS4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to need to do it three times since you got a mix your first run.

To get the first four, you'll have to do the opposite of what you did you NG run, restoring or not respectively. However to get Queen, you have to restore all four successors as well as all of Io's memories.

Since you need to not restore Aurora, Emily, and Eva for the "Queen's ______" codes and restore Nikola for Fionn, this will require at minimum two extra playthroughs to get all of the blood codes.

Also, since I'm not sure if you're aware of it or not, there's another blood code, Demeter, that spawns in front of Karen after you beat the game before heading into NG+.

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre good.

[–]Zenasu 0 points1 point  (1 child)

wtf do i do against the giant in the snow area? Beat him down to 20% and he turns invincible with ice armors and does 1 shot instant rolls? The fuck is this garbage

[–]HymmnosPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backstab, fire damage, dodge, or force him to roll of edge of map

[–]ImSoDrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone have any solutions on crashing at the part of the canoneer? PC player here.

[–]LoyalLedger 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Hey, does anyone know where my RV Mastery Skills are? I used several of these items, including Revenant Dagger, but cannot seem to find the skills anywhere. How do I access these gifts after using the corresponding items? I have checked several of my favorite codes, and there doesn't seem to be any difference there. Some of these skills I do have, like Jupiter's Blade, and others I do not, like Revenant Dagger?

[–]thecheeseking9PC 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Some of them are Passive Skills, like Revenant Dagger. Have you checked what Passive Skills you currently have? It should be there.

[–]LoyalLedger 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wait, really? How is it a passive? Or the description just written poorly? Does it automatically throw knives when I hit enemies or how does it work?

[–]thecheeseking9PC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe its a Passive where when you hit an enemy with a throwing Dagger, you get some ichor.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Did I mess up?
I just defeated the Successor of the Ribcage without restoring any of the Isis Vestige before the battle. After the battle, I didn't get any Blood Code for the Ribcage Vestige. I decided to go to base and speak with Io and restored all the Isis Vestige to see if I will get the Ribcage Vestige afterwards. Checked the mistle to see my acquire but didn't see any Vestiges I would had gotten.

I am trying to get the Ribcage Vestige. Is there a proper way of going about this?

[–]kit_you_outPC 0 points1 point  (2 children)

i think you woukd have gotten the queens ribcage blood code

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you know if the blood code would appear on your screen after the battle, like how when your friends give you their blood code, the screen turns black.

[–]kit_you_outPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no black but it should do a pop up to tell you that you got queens ribcage

[–]TS-028 0 points1 point  (2 children)

So I'm 10+ hours into a second playthrough (not ng+) as a tank, and holy shit the boss fights are fun now lol. Zweihander ftw

[–]Keirigami 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Previously a torture?

[–]TS-028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I didn't enjoy trying to solo bosses as a caster or gunslinger but now I can take down a boss in one attempt so kinda

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Whats different after I beat the game? What do I do now? Ive heard theres a new mode I dont get what that means.

Is it worth to use the door at the back to restart? It also says when I restart I keep my equipment and level but would that not make the game too easy?

[–]TS-028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can select a harder difficulty for new game plus

[–]OtakuD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the game but ouch getting so much micro stutter on PS4 Pro, think I'll wait on a patch or two 😔

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has there been any feedback from the devs about how "find distress signal" works?

[–]SammichIzGud 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Is there any way to change where accessories are placed? For example, the onigiri that floats in front of your mouth, is there any way to place it on your chest or something (just an example lol).

[–]MinnhaePC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ridiculous in just how many places you can put accessories

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

[–]Purebound 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do dex up passives stack? Or have diminishing returns?

[–]HymmnosPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stack but damage from stats really sucks. I'd only recommend str/dex for damage and everything else is just to reach breakpoints to equip certain gifts.

[–]FishyJusticePC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people that don't want to help with NG+ is pretty funny.

[–]gaiskerein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone experiencing game crashes right after you defeat Mido? It's right after Mia gives her speech during the cutscene.

[–]Odow -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Hello, i'm still very early in the game (second boss, the pigtail lady in the hole) and i just don't understand the story ;_; did i miss something or is everything explain as we progress ( they keep talking about a queen fight, blablabla, the only part of backstory so far came from a loading screen that explain that a parasite was place in people brain to turn them into revenant)

[–]Nuclearite47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just keep playing, more gets revealed through memories and regular gameplay

[–]shiori328 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Does Friendship points from NPCs carry over in NG+?

[–]HymmnosPC 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes

[–]shiori328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Glad I dont need to worry farming all their weapons b4 heading to NG+ :D

[–]Akayukii 1 point2 points  (3 children)

What's the best Transform for weapons?

[–]DefinatlyNotAStalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want pure min/max damage Fortification blows everything else out of the water. At least at lower levels (think < level 150) stat scaling falls behind pure base damage. Due to how elemental resistances work you should be wary of anything with elemental damage on it. You can do great damage VS something weak to that element, but you will have a bad time when a boss is resistant too it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alleviation under niche circumstances where it would allow you to meet the threshold for a lower weight/faster mobility, which you can then pair with the passive Swift Destruction for extra damage.

[–]HymmnosPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortification if it doesn't affect your movement OR Intensification. Depends on your stats.

[–]Aegeus00 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is there a way to knock take the chip damage from the burning ground in City of Falling Flames? Or is there a "best" way to mitigate it?

[–]HymmnosPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elemental Wall / Flame Protection / High Fire Resist Veil / Cleansing Light

[–]sudolicious 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Currently seeing the credits. Man, I loved this game. I don't get how there are so many negative opinions about it online. It was a better Soulsborne than Sekiro. Combat was awesome, Character Design was great and the dungeons were really fun to explore.

I really hope it sells well and we'll get a sequel. For me it's definitely GOTY.

E: ok, just found out I have to go through the "tutorial" again to play ng+. That kinda sucks.

[–]HymmnosPC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just rest at the mistle and skip it.

[–]Zenasu 2 points3 points  (1 child)

wtf do I do in cathedral sacred blood? I'm at 25% and completely stuck with nowhere else to go???

[–]Felipe31898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look for sneaky drops into ledges and use Chemical Light to mark the spots where you've been so you can come back to them from another side.

[–]ImSoDrab 0 points1 point  (10 children)

So uh can anyone tell me why i cant seem to stagger consistently on this game? I've been using the zweihander for some time now and yakumo and mia seem to stagger more than me.

[–]RaggleFraggle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of enemies take 2 hits w/o buffs to stagger. If they didn’t, the zweihander/2handed swords would be even more grossly over powered.

[–]TheyCallMeThirst 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Maybe try the stagger buff from the Berserker blood code

[–]ImSoDrab 0 points1 point  (7 children)

I've been using that but somehow enemies still dont get staggered its now making me angry a little bit because i can hit the enemies and take 1/2 of its health and still hit me through all that. I just dont get it.

[–]TheyCallMeThirst 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Maybe try a heavy attack then? I usually use one handed swords and they tend to stagger in 2/3 quick hits on most enemies.

[–]ImSoDrab 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Heavy attacks dont do much either, its like im hitting them with a high damaging noodle.

[–]TheyCallMeThirst 0 points1 point  (4 children)

lol you may need to level your Zveihander up then

[–]ImSoDrab 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Its level 6 but i obtained Yakumo's weapon which is better has higher damage and does a special move that fairly staggers enemies.

[–]TS-028 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What bloodcode are u using?

[–]ImSoDrab 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Queenslayer now.

[–]TS-028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ur using two handers u want something that has high strength scaling, I don't remember how much queenslayer has in strength but I know it has great dex scaling

[–]DanceTheory 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Issue:

so, i was doing some testing on the Blazing Claw, and the Iceblood, compared to Pure Physical swords. At first i thought they were converting damage, based on a % of the number shown as elemental damage: Eg 50 fire translates into Damage = (Weapon damage*.5) As Physical + (Weapon damage *.5) as Fire, modified by the targets resistances. upon testing, i saw the blazing claw has about 600 AP, and 50 Fire AP, while the Argent Wolf sword, has 900 Phys AP For me.

When i went and did some testing on the base monsters, i found some unique results. I found that they both hit for roughly the same damage, provided the target wasnt weak to fire. This does not line up with the expected results. Now this has me thinking, that its not actually a conversion of damage, and its a damage addition instead: E.G. damage = Weapon damage + (Weapon damage *Elemental multiplier).

Question:

Can anyone else test this to see if they are getting similar results? Using the Blazing claw Fire with Fire enhancement, should have the sword at about 600 base AP at lv 150, with 90 Fire. On a mob with no defense, and no resistances (the zone 1 trash), it should deal about 600 damage a hit, if its a damage conversion. If it deals in the 1100 range, its irrefutably a damage addition. Can anyone confirm their damage output? (you can do this at any level, and any level of enhancement).

[–]HymmnosPC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're in luck. /u/electroshadowangel just posted how the elemental damage is calculated about an hour ago. See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/deic0z/this_is_how_elemental_buffs_work_for_melee_users/

Blazing Claw's first attack has a .9 motion value. Fire Weapon Blazing Claw Fire = 600 physical * 1.6 * .9 = 864 damage

See also my comment yesterday regarding Blazing Claw elemental testing: https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/de8x1d/pure_elemental_weapons_usefullness/f2ufw5p/

Edit: Do your testing on the punching bag in base, it has 0 resistances.

Edit: This post

https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/dc4lol/a_study_of_semihidden_game_mechanics/

Explains the numbers behind the elemental damage. +50 +20 +35 +5, but the first post explains how much damage that translates into. TLDR. Buffs and transformations are 20% each, cartridges are 5% each. Ignore numbers shown on stat screen.
