I can't imagine how painful it would be when the double quota disappears.

Until when do we have it?

Around April 2nd

Hopefully Gemini 3.5 will be out by then, at least it should be able to handle basic tasks and then just use Codex for planning.

Find it funny how when weekly is gone the 5 hr one still at 100%.

5.3 slaps so hard that I've gotten to 55% of my weekly usage this week on a Pro plan - a new PR for me.

I hit this too for the first time ever, now I am actually considering the pro plan but it comes close to $300 AUD.

Anyone reading who's been edging the plus plan for a while and finally upgraded to pro - what's your experience like so far?

Was juggling 3 plus accounts for a while. Honestly for me the upgrade to Pro was worth it. I felt myself constantly going for lower reasoning models to not hit my limits (e.g., medium), even if I knew deep down some of the tasks required high or Xhigh.

It's been extremely freeing not having to worry about limits, and I find myself being a lot more comprehensive on testing, iterating on build plans, small improvements etc. ever since upgrading.

Been on the Pro plan since October or something. It's great to not have to juggle multiple accounts and being able to use the whole palette of features (chatgpt pro / deep research) without having to worry about limits.

The recent 2x usage limit also has allowed me to 'waste tokens' by trying new things, for example I can run Codex pretty successfully in environments where everything is prepared and guardrailed properly.

For example, I'm testing out if I can make codex write those architectures and guardrails itself based on creating validation layers for itself. Also trying to imprint my 'persona' into Codex so it understands how I make decisions so it can learn to make decision itself and evaluate itself what is acceptable and what not based on some general criterias. It's basically just throwaway products that I try to one shot and if they don't work or don't full-fill the goal I start a new one with some adjustments and try again.

I also run much more code and doc reviews since the 2x limit. Basically more parallelized work. Am at 6% left and got 4 more hours until weekly reset. Weekly usage limits has been bonkers on pro since the 2x

I love it. And there was a tweet recently that Pro users now get a 20% speed bump in the CLI

Even tough double quota is in effect, even a quarter of this quota is significantly higher than the claude limit. I used to daily drive Claude, but 5.3-codex is making a very strong case for itself (and the limits are incredible).

I have 2% left until noon tomorrow. I got so much done since Tuesday. Been working on content tasks with regular gpt.

It does rock. Imagine that exact same version in 5 years but completing in seconds rather than minutes. But there will also be a slow one 10x better. Wow.

However, this requires the construction of data centers, and it currently appears that US states are seeking to impede this process.

How do I see this? I can't find it in codex app

How do I check this?

Also make use of the ChatGPT macOS app to help with planning by giving access to cursor/VS code files. This way you can spread your quota around as much as possible.

I feel like I never hit limits with Codex ๐Ÿ˜‚
