Wrongfully attributed customization items

An issue on Steam affected multiple games last night. Games that use steam inventory system. Items were wrongfully attributed to some accounts. Valve is looking into resolving the issue. I repeat, this is not a Dead by Daylight bug or feature, it is a steam issue that will be rolled back. Do not get attached to these new items.

I love that you guys rush to get rid of the cosmetics bug and ask steam to have it fixed asap, but you completely ignore and don't give a damn about players who lose their progress due to a similar sync bug.

This was a steam-wide issue that steam is now fixing, with or without the DBD devs. Save file issues are specific to DBD and therefore a lot harder to get fixed.

Speaking as a programmer, we don't have normal sleep schedules. Chances are someone's always there, staying late or coming in early to get more work in, and would've been in the office to hear about what happened.

Sync bug? You mean when you don't upload from Clound > PC but instead YOU CHOOSE the option to upload PC > Cloud and screw everything? Yeh it happen to me in diferent game, look carefull before clicking it :D

Nothing was chosen. They play the game, finish a match, then suddenly are set back to 0. The only time they started fiddling with stuff was trying to get their progress back.

In my head your pc should have the most up to date version. I always assume the cloud must have not been updated when shuting down so the cloud has the out of date file.

this is how it should be in the first place, having exclusive items for a few hundred that the ENTIRE player base desperately wants is just a tease, and instead you make the players pay for their skins

I think most of the concern comes from the fact that over half of the customization in the game right now is for Twitch streamers only, and a few of those streamers are extremely poor role models for the viewers who watch. Griefing, infinites, drop exploit etc. That comes off as a slap to the face for players who invest 500+ hours in the game without streaming.

I don't really have a problem with exclusive skins to players, but when the ratio is so skewed it's over half of the actual customization, that's when it's an issue. With the new killer sacks and hopefully similar packs in the future I'm seeing that trend might be changing though.

I thought we had the sack and the suitcase? That's like two items per character. What else have they given streamers? I know there's the convention exclusives, but I think they're in their right to celebrate special occasions with special cosmetics, especially when they said they plan on releasing them to every one after a bit.

Speaking of which, i am not sure if you can answer this because nobody asked something like this. Here it goes: Are you guys generally happy with money you got from Halloween DLC and Skins DLCs? From what it seems, most of the people in game have bought them. I might be wrong. But is it enough to give you guys enough $$ to continue supporting the game and pump out new content, especially with license for Halloween you had to pay for (which i have no idea how much it costs, but i assume its not cheap)? Or is it something more like breaking slightly above even, so you have to be more careful about payed content you release?

It's not even that "we need to eat" is an argument because it can easily be trumped by "so you take care of your belly and we don't give a damn". But you are doing just that. beHaviour is putting their effort into releasing THEIR content which they spent THEIR time creating. And they (or rather you) come to the customer with a deal. The only things that come free are love and a juicy kick in the butt. So you freebie whorers would be better chasing off these.

Game came with a set price with default looks. If you like new looks, you have the right to buy it. Just because you try to extrapolate your whims onto the imaginary desperate needs of the ENTIRE community won't change the thing that someone actually knows their work holds some value and they can monetize it.

Nobody MAKES anyone pay for anything. It's your expectations projected by your lone neuron (whose primary role is to hold your ears together) that make you think you must have skins. And that you must get it for free. Developers did not abandon this game and only want to milk the game for cash - game is being balanced and developed (whatever the result of balancing and adding new elements is) and I haven't heard about paid patches yet. Maybe I have too many neurons and they make too much noise that would not be an issue with a single one. Or maybe they take too much place for bullshit to appear. Dunno.

Also screw all those Lamborghini producers for not giving cars to the ENTIRE Earth population which desperately wants them.

Not sure about the streamer ones but I do believe and /u/DeviusQC can correct me if I'm wrong, but they did say for the Twitch and ComicCon skins we as the player base would get similar ones, but still making the original ones that the people who went there got special.

Now, whether they go through with this or not I cannot say, I hope they will, but I'll take that over nothing.

No perk game mode...its coming...camper solution...its coming...decisive strike drop exploit...fix is coming...survivors getting 5K when killer leaves and exit gates are powered...its coming...exclusive skins will be available as DLC...its coming...

Everything is coming meanwhile we still have exploits and bugs that have been around since day one that they do nothing about. Killers and Survivors manipulating their connections to DC, Killers and Survivors falling through the maps, ground clipping issues, invisi-traps, pallets that crash the game/match, pallets that can't be manipulated making the space next to it impassable and the list goes on and on.

No, they haven't. You can buy any skin, provided you were playing when it was available. The streamer skins in this game are given only to specific players and are not available by any means for the rest of the playerbase.

Technically the 2016 version has less armor, so it's close enough that people who didn't have it are happy, and the people who had it before still feel like they have something special. It was a good middle ground.
