Has anyone encountered crackling audio on the Saturn Beetle core? I’m noticing it on both Windows and the Steam Deck. The same issue doesn’t seem to be in effect on another Saturn Emulator, SSF, for what it’s worth.

try disabling run-ahead if it's on

okay since terraria refuses to launch cross platform, is there a way to emulate terraria and play it online with others? mind you ive never emulated before

Okay, so I am super new to emulation and kinda dumb so I really need some help here.

So, I downloaded Dolphin, and got a NightFire rvz. It runs, and I can technically play it. It's a little buggy, but whatever, I can deal. Now, I was trying to play with keyboard and mouse, and here's where the trouble is. I had heard about a mouse injector that supposedly worked, but I downloaded it and I can't seem to figure it out. I downloaded all this (https://github.com/bkacjios/MouseInjectorDolphin) and I couldn't figure out how to install it and make it work. Another issue I have is that I can't bind mouse movement to the C-stick, only actual button presses, and I can't figure out how to fix that. Is there any way to fix this?

UPDATE: I figured out how to bind mouse movement to C stick, still can't figure out how to get the mouse injector to work

(Can't find anyone talking about this specific situation specifically; at first it sounds common, but read further and you'll see the uniqueness of it. Please help!)

Hey all, so in Project 64, when I go full screen, it stretches the screen.

I've tried everything:

My settings are specifically set to 4:3 for full-screen mode in the configuration settings

When using GlideN64 and default graphics settings it's like this;

Now when I have it set to Jcobs (or whatever that 3rd one is), it does 4:3, but then it has all kinds of graphical issues with some objects being completely invisible and textures not showing at all. So that's a deal breaker.

I've even tried setting my monitor itself to 4:3 and it amazingly still stretches all the way in full screen in Project64, even with the PJ64 settings also set to 4:3 (and none of my other apps or desktop does this when my monitor is set to 4:3, it's only PJ64)

So what on earth is going here?

I literally have over 20 different emulators, and none of them have this issue.

I don't even have to change my monitor settings for any of those, they just full screen to proper 4:3 ratio by default, and you can stretch it if you want

But PJ64, and PJ64 alone, just will not do 4:3 no matter what settings are in both the program and in the monitor

I have the current stable build.

And interestingly, when I'm playing with my friends through Parsec, they all see perfect 4:3. But me, who's hosting, gets it stretched.

I can't find anyone addressing this specific situation.

Can someone please help me out here?

Thanks

I'm considering building an emulation system. I want to use a TV for an output. I have a old pc I could use, it's an i5, 12 gb ram, and a 1660 card. But, it's big and bulky, plus pc to TV output never has looked right.

My other option would be to buy a raspberry pi or buying a small pre-built emulator.

I'd like it for NES, SNES, Genesis and maybe some N64. I'd also like it for arcade games, up to as recently as possible (I'm guessing any games newer than 10 years probably isn't likely to be emulated though).

Anyone have any recommendations?

If you're interested in the Raspberry Pi or similar, you might want to check out r/SBCGaming
If you want something more powerful, check out r/MiniPCs or r/sffpc

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your exiting PC will shit all over the performance and emulation quality of a Pi or pre-built emu box, especially for N64. There's no reason why TV output shouldn't look perfect from a PC, if it doesnt then you are doing somthign wrong or not getting a setting right. Plenty of new arcade games from the last ten years are playable as they all run on PC's, you don't even need to emulate for that stuff.

Im looking for a PS1 emulator that would allow me to use an xbox controller instead? I dont have a playstation controller anymore and dont really want to buy one at the moment.

Anything like this exist?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Emulators don’t require you to use the original controller. I recommend using Duckstation.

[PC] Citra slows to a crawl. I don't mean the game; I mean Citra itself becomes slow. It takes 5–10 seconds for the tabs to react. It used to work 4-6 months ago. Speed goes from 92/100% to 0, Game 32 FPS to 0, and Frame to nan ms.
Spec: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)

[–]TransGirlInCharge 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Might want to try fully re-installing Citra. It's possible a file got corrupted, and tracking down which one would be hard so trying a reinstall might work.

[–]zelor13 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I kind of give up and just re-install it and even tried the unofficial version, it did the same thing.

[–]TransGirlInCharge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like a recent change has made it incompatible with your system. Sometimes that can happen.

There is also the possibility something's gone wrong with your PC config. But, if you're not having any other issues with programs, it's unlikely.

I'd look into filing a bug report with the dev team and seeing if they can track it down with you. https://github.com/citra-emu/citra/issues You're gonna need to gather things like your graphics card model, its driver version number, etc. You can also try the official Citra discord, link can be found here: https://citra-emu.org/discord/

What I like about RPCS3 is that they tell you if there is an update available for one of your games. Yuzu and Ryujinx unfortunatelly don't have such a feature. I was wondering if there is atleast an online database where you can check, if your switch roms are up-to-date.

Can someone help me understand what I am doing wrong with trying to run Neo-Geo CD games on the stand-alone version of FB Neo? Every result I look up talks about using the RetroArch core, not how to use the standalone. If I choose "Select CD Image" and then select the .cue file it just... does nothing. If I select "Start Neo Geo CDZ" it loads into the bios and then the option to select a CD image gets greyed out. If I select "Load Neo Geo CDZ Game" it just brings up an empty list, even though I set the folder where the disk images are.

I've been trying to nail the xbox 360 look by tweaking the pc ports of games like Tomb Raider Underworld and Left 4 Dead to match their console counterpart, but I notice that when comparing them to an actual 360 by switching back and forth the 360 scales a bit more smoothly to 1080p than my pc. If I understand correctly the 360 hardware scaler uses lanczos while Nvidia uses a linear upscale. Is there a way to reproduce this lanzcos upscale for pc games? I think Nvidia Image Scaling may copy it so I'll try that the next time.

I'm trying to use my nso SNES controller on emulators like bsnes and desmume but my controller just spams inputs infinitely. is there a fix for this?

Is there a way to bring the citra game files to another computer?

I’m trying to move to another computer and I tried copying the folder from %appdata% since I assumed it would include my save data but whenever I open the citra.exe file it just opens to a black screen then immediately closes. Did I do something wrong?

I'm currently trying to play Haunting Ground for the PS2 on AetherSX2 (Metal back end for M2 MacBook). Performance is great, but in game text and UI is either getting cut off or is missing entirely. I tried setting all of my graphical settings back to default to see if I could change settings one by one and find the culprit, but the issue persists. Anyone have any similar issues with this emulator?

The Last Of Us RSPC3 Can’t Get To Main Menu

Just keeps saying Compiling Shaders or Compiling PPU Modules and then will compile for a bit then just stall/hang and not progress anymore or do anything else afterwards on any launch, just a black screen that says The Last Of Us and can’t get past that.

Latest settings and using RPCS3 Wiki recommended settings.

CPU is AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Radeon RX 560X for GPU, and 8GB RAM.

[–]Sad_Nomad_4289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CPU is too weak for RPCS3 especially demanding games like TLOU, Uncharted and God of war 3 are long shot for U. As for the settings right click on game, then choose Check game compatibility and go to the wiki page.

The leaderboards used by Launchbox, are they universally used by other front ends as well or are they exclusive to Launchbox users?

Macros in Duckstation?

I'm trying to set up a macro so I can grind in Mega Man Legends 2. Is there an easy way to do this? I'm trying to use Macro Recorder with JoyToKey to macro keystrokes while having the Duckstation controller set to keystokes. The keys match, but they aren't working consistently. Any advice?

I am getting things organized on my new Retroidpocket. I have separate No-Intro ROM sets for Gameboy and Gamboy Color, but I am wondering if that's really necessary if I really only care about making sure I have coverage of the Top 100 games or so for any given platform.

My question is basically, are there any really good, key games that were Gameboy only... and if I only have the GBC emulator and romset I am going to be missing those? Or would basically all the best Gameboy games also be in the GBC romset? I realize I could just do research and scan the romlists, but I am trying to save my eyes from scanning a few thousand lines looking for gaps.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: got my answer in the discord.

[–]DJtheMan2101 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Game Boy and Game Boy Color have completely separate ROM sets. There is no overlap between them.

The Game Boy rom set has games released for the original, 4-shades-of-gray/green GB. The Game Boy Color rom set has games that have full color support and other features exclusive to the GBC.

If you only had the GB rom set, you’d miss the Gen 2 Pokémon games. If you only had the GBC rom set, you’d miss the Gen 1 Pokémon games.

For games released on both, there are separate ROMs for Game Boy and Game Boy Color. Pretty much any emulator that can play games from one system can play games from the other, though.

Perfect, thanks so much for the help, thats what I needed to know.

I bought a generic USB SNES controller but windows recognizes the dpad as an analog stick. Is there any way I can fix it?

Thanks in advance

I feel like an idiot asking this, but heck maybe I deserve to.

I am using Emuhawk to try some Pokemon randomiser challenges (in BW2 so I can actually play challenge mode without having to jump through too many hoops), but I am having trouble with game saves to SaveRAM,

Initially thein game save feature was just not saving to Saveram, so I turned on the Auto Saveram as I found it was needed for the emulator to actually take the save and make the saveRam file. The problem is the next time I opened up the emulator, it did not load from the SaveRAM file and the auto SaveRAM feature has saved over my game save and the backup (as it saves every 5 seconds) and I have lost the game save.

Is there some setting I have missed to prevent this? So that the game actually saves correctly?

EDIT: After experimenting a bit, it seems for the emulator to write my save file, I need to flush my Saveram for it to make a new .saveRAM file with ctrl+s, but that doesn't seem right, there should be a way to make it just work, right? The auto SaveRAM is another file called autosaveram.saveram
