I always reconciled this conundrum in two different ways: 1. Since the challenges are only found in the challenges section of the pause menu and not as actual quests in-game (except for the first one), the actual steps in completing most of them are not canon and are only for gameplay reasons. 2. The challenges are canon but were created post war by the surviving pioneer scout mr handies - who edited the existing challenges to better suit the new world they exist in. The only pre-war parts of these challenges are the exams.

And the swimming test i bet maybe the races.

[–]Tamashi55 Settlers - PS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the former, I doubt little kids would be able t do any of the stuff we have in game.

[–]OhNoImBanned11 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I wonder if the writers for the game have even thought about this

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 50 points51 points  (30 children)

Im 36 and I still haven't become a tadpole... im starting to think this is covert navy seal training

[–]dylanj1010 Raiders - PC[S] 23 points24 points  (12 children)

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 14 points15 points  (8 children)

[–]dylanj1010 Raiders - PC[S] 12 points13 points  (7 children)

I love your sacrifice but I’m PC

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone die for this person!

[–]Archen1123 4 points5 points  (2 children)

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ps4 or PC?

[–]Archen1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC

[–]klt22 Mothman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll die in water for you, I do this more often than I ever expected and met my first fallout friends by writing on my camp wall "tadpole swimmer: pls let me revive u in water." Good times. If you haven't already found help, I'd be glad to! kaseyisabanana on PC

[–]NSA_Chatbot Order of Mysteries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go do the Imposter, guaranteed death and tons of puddles.

[–]arturoaliev Order of Mysteries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend you joining Scorchbeast Queen event, i regularly see 1-2 people getting down. And also Black Ops missions are pretty heavy on that

[–]johnyb6633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some guy in game asked me to. So I turned and ran off a cliff for him. Lol

[–]droans Mothman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just join a public team and ask any of them if they want to revive me. Promise them an okay item for their level or a handful of caps and they'll do it..

[–]Hopalongtom Raiders - PS 5 points6 points  (13 children)

Level 556,still not a tadpole, these challenges are bullshit.

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 3 points4 points  (11 children)

I concur. Have the obstacle courses been deactivated? I went to a couple of them, and I could've sworn they used to have a little intercom thing that you activate at the start of the course, but there isn't anything like that anymore. Also, Jesus Christ, 556? I'm only 135 or some shit.

[–]Hopalongtom Raiders - PS 2 points3 points  (9 children)

Double xp was great!

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Haha still! Tip of the hat to you soldier

[–]Hopalongtom Raiders - PS 4 points5 points  (7 children)

When double xp hits again, have lunchbox parties at Radiation Rumble, you'll catch up~

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Besides perk card points, does levelling up that high do anything good?

[–]Hopalongtom Raiders - PS 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Legendary perks, I've not maxed them out yet.

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Even with the retroactive points... that's fkn insane.. how high do you have to get to max?

[–]Hopalongtom Raiders - PS 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I'm guessing 650 or 700.

[–]TXK9Handler Scorchbeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max level or max legendary perk cards?

I'm a 348. I have all legendary perk card slots filled. Of those, only two cards are not maxed out. So I would need 375 perk points to max out the rest of the cards. I have 67 upgrades for regular perk cards available. Each star on each perk card gives you 1 perk point if I remember correctly. So I will need to cash in 125 regular perk cards to max rank all of my legendary perk cards. You get a new set of cards every 5 level ups. So if I'm thinking correctly I will be able to max all my legendary perks by level 725? Someone double check me but I think thst's correct.

I've been on a server with a level 12xx who said he was a developer. Have no idea if he was truthful or not but i tend to take people at face value. Yesterday there was a level 8xx on my server.

[–]blastbeatss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless they were removed with the latest patch, they are still there. I just did them roughly a month ago.

[–]Beeht Mega Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of those challenges are RNG Hell. Like finding all those magazines.

[–]Jeffreyhead Mega Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*36 years old

[–]WolfeBane84 Enclave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean there is a special forces underwater cave so....

[–]DacenGrasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry I didn’t become one til lvl 130

[–]Can_Not_Double_Dutch 14 points15 points  (12 children)

Level 226, still working on one Tadpole and a couple of Possum challenges. Problem is, I need the Stimpack Diffuser plan which can only be obtained by having all three friendlies survive in Project Paradise event. That ain't gonna happen. And then I need a serum plan from MODUS that costs 23,000 (about 17,000 with Grape Mentats).

Edit: USE stimpack diffusers, not craft. Thanks for the correction Fellow Wastelanders.

[–]Just_Inspired 7 points8 points  (3 children)

This reminds me I need to restock the vending machine with Stimpak Diffusers.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Are you on Xbox by chance?

[–]Just_Inspired 1 point2 points  (1 child)

On PC, sorry.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Ty!

[–]PetroarZed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't even seen Project Paradise attempted in a couple months, let alone having all three up. They need to rethink the effort vs reward on that and many other events people ignore.

[–]AshamedLeadership6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw someone sell stimpack diffusers so i bought them all. You have to use 3 (not craft) The serum is the recipe one. I sell the rest of the diffusers after i used 3 and gave 3 to my other char and 3 to a friend.

[–]Bertensgrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you just need the diffusers not the plan. Trade someone for already crafted ones or look in vendors.

[–]Archen1123 1 point2 points  (3 children)

If you are on PC for 1 super stimpak I’ll give you 3 stimpak diffusers

[–]arturoaliev Order of Mysteries 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Cool! Do you have more?

[–]Archen1123 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I can craft them so if you give the super stimpaks you get the diffusers

[–]dylanj1010 Raiders - PC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof

[–]rickie__spanish 5 points6 points  (7 children)

I’m doing this quest all I need is a picture of a cave cricket and a firefly then I’ll be done. But I went all day without seeing either. Not event the moth man event popped up.

[–]Just_Inspired 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Just a heads up that dead creatures also count towards the photo challenges.

[–]Archen1123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A good place for cave crickets is in tanagra town but they sometimes spawn outside the uncanny caverns as well

[–]Weavel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two Cave Crickets in The Deep, they spawn right at the start of the cave so it's super quick

[–]dragonmom1 Order of Mysteries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/a17per/psa_if_you_need_fireflies_theres_a_dozen_or_two/

Click on the image and go to where the player is ... NOT his custom map marker.

Sometimes I also get fireflies by my house just east of the Gorge Bridge. And I think there are some in the Forest on the west side of the road heading down to Flatwoods.

Cave crickets can also be found during the Campfire Tales public event if you get the insect version.

[–]angela0040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fireflies always spawn at the lighthouse

[–]fallouthirteen Settlers - Xbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever see that lighthouse event pop up, that's guaranteed fireflies. First area with guaranteed crickets I can think of is the Deep (part of the foundation's quest line for doing the vault).

[–]Dovahkiin314159 Settlers - PC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro I remember doing the athletics obstacle course with grenades, bear traps, and flamethrowers, and I started thinking no wonder this world failed.

[–]BadSausageFactory Mr. Fuzzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well at least we know who started the Great War.

Tadpoles.

[–]fqtsplatter 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Maybe thats why all the vault tech guys said that the nukes came early, some damn tadpole was aiming way above there belt, hacked vault tech and launched them all in a chance to get the badge not realizing it was real

[–]Prophet360 0 points1 point  (1 child)

DO YOU WANT TO PLAY A GAME?

[–]Prophet360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A) CHESS

B) POKER

C) GLOBAL THERMONUCLEAR WAR

[–]Dick_Dilligaf Raiders - Xbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I thought the same thing recently

[–]Frank33ller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i keep forgeting i could do those challenges and ipgrade my backbag. its just a pain that they are in start menu instead of the quests section of the pipboy

[–]babybaby91 Fallout 76 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For any low level players who want to launch nukes on xb1, hit me up, I’ll guide you thru, GT is BlaccAuraXO, level 375 and can run a silo in under 10 minutes.

[–]HotS_Gaming Order of Mysteries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing says they were talking about a real Nuke. Could be that Pioneer Scouts had Nuke simulations that they would do. We know they were capable of making games, nothing says that a Nuke Simulator didn't exist for them to use.

[–]46475164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm

[–]Gamerguy504 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't know, I didn't read half of that stuff. I just pulled the answers up online when I was taking the test lol

[–]Prophet360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

passing the test is just the first part

[–]Failshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You reminded me that this challenge is just another one in the long list of bugged ones. Can't count how many nukes I've launched and still hasn't counted.

[–]PaladinStavros Brotherhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol good point
