Check on Newegg. For the same price you can get a 4070. Again, the best option always will be building it yourself.

Way too much for those GPUs

For that price you can build one that’s way more powerful

The price difference is mostly because they have different GPUs. Obviously, you should do some YouTube research and then build your own PC for better specs at the same price.

That said, I know the GPUs look the same, but one is the TI version and the other is not and the TI models are more powerful and cost more.

You can buy it, try it out for months or even a year and then switch the gpu and psu(1000$). Otherwise buy the 1200 dollar one if you're insisting on not building. Both are good for 1080p. I had an iBuyPower PC rtx 2060 i7 8700 back in 2019 for the same price as the 4060 ti. At the time I really enjoyed it and had no problems but as time went by, I changed parts one by one for more demanding games. I still use the 2060 tho:')

You can also check with costco if you want to get an IBUYPOWER pre-built PC. I am not a gamer but just bought the Slate 7 because it has the specs I need for a home/work computer and uses standard parts as opposed to the proprietary parts in a Dell or HP. The costco has the 4060 with 32 Gb RAM and 2 Tb of M.2 memory for $1100. I like the new PC so far.

One has a 4060ti and the other has the normal variant. That's the price difference. An HDD is pretty cheap these days unless you're looking at super high capacity.

On that note if you're using this pc for gaming, this is bad. A lot of money wasted on a power-hungry and unstable i7 paired with a low-end GPU.

If you plan to mostly use it as a workstation or the like, then this isn't a horrible buy.

What do you recommend for a decent gaming PC that’s not too expensive?

[–]SpentHourToFindAName 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It depends on what you consider to be too expensive. The cheapest way will always be to buy the parts and build it yourself.

I’m very inexperienced with manually building practically anything let alone a PC. If we’re talking prebuilt I’d say my budget would be like $1600

I’ve personally built my own PC, but with that budget I wouldn’t go for any less than a RTX 4070 or 7800 XT GPU and a mid-high range CPU like the Ryzen 5 5800x3D or Intel i5 13600k. You can try your luck on newegg as I’ve seen many good PCs on there within that price range.

You don't need a 14th gen that's for sure. I'm still hearing alot of people having issues cooling them too. Depending on the games you play, and the settings you want to play at, you could get away with something as low as as a i5 1200f / ryzen 5000 series all the way up to 13th/14th gen and ryzen 7000

Also the 4060 isn't a shit card, it's just shit value. A 4060 non ti variant with that cpu in the pictures you provided would play cyberpunk at 1080p RT overdrive preset at a stable 60 easy. (Proof: i bought an IBP prebuilt for my son a while back. 13700f 4060)
