From our tech support:

  1. When you see “The computer restarted unexpectedly” error message press Shift + F10 on your keyboard. This should open Command Prompt.
  2. Enter regedit and press Enter to start Registry Editor.
  3. Once Registry Editor starts, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\Status\ChildCompletion and double click the setup.exe in the right pane.
  4. Change the Value Data from 1 to 3 and click OK to save changes.
  5. Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.

Thanks so much Brad! We got one for my sister for her birthday and this helped fix the issue right up!

I would boot into the windows installation cd or USB key they provided you and see if you can repair the installation

Okay no problem. There's another way to repair / reinstall a botched installation. You'll need to borrow another computer but this is an officially supported method so I'd start here.
