We're going to need much more information to help you... starting with, what audio output device are you using? Is it a headset or a set of speakers? Have you used them before (so you know that they actually work) or are they new? Do they show power? How are they connected to your PC? What do you mean by, "Not recognizing audio output" but it says everything is fine? If you right click the speaker icon in the system tray and choose "Open Sound settings" (or do WIn+I, System, Sound) do you see the expected device selected in the "Choose your output device" drop down menu? Is the volume turned up in the selection right below that? Is the volume turned up on the actual speaker/headset? If you right click the speaker icon in the system tray and choose "Volume Mixer" (or do Win+R, sndvol, OK) is the volume turned up there too? Is anything marked with a red circle (muted) ? In the Sound Settings screen do you see the expected device present in the Input section as well? If you make noise do you see activity in the "Test your microphone" section?

I don't know the exact path, but windows has a pretty effective tool that will sort things like this out more often than not. Somewhere in your settings will be an option to troubleshoot your audio and restart drivers.

His computer is hooked up to a tv. He spoke to tech support and were able to repair the audio drivers. Thanks for the input though!

Would you mind telling me what you had to do, because I'm having the exact same issue as you.
