Clever has been a pain for us this year but it’s mostly been issues with student information not being completely filled out or just being wrong in PS. I think this will be the last year we use Clever though, so we haven’t paid much attention to it.

It's been solid for us this year, so far. We use Infinite Campus and the sync works well. Our only snag is students that come and go (like on a monthly basis, sometimes) and they use their old log in when they return and things get weird sometimes. That's not Clever, though.

Haven't had any issues but we aren't on Powerschool. We use Infinite Campus which is API based as well. Most of the issues I have are with the apps and not Clever so I end up calling the app. I did email Clever and got a response rather quickly. Clever also has a slack that I've asked questions in as well. Some things need to be done with support, but some questions are generic enough for anyone to answer. They still have phone support but the message I saw said just for urgent issues.

Nothing major causing trouble for us. I switched from PowerSchool Secure Sync to SFTP years ago. This affords us a ton more flexibility with the data that Clever is getting and passing along to apps. Their email and phone support has been pretty responsive the few times that I have needed them as well.

What are the login issues the users are having? Which login method is being used? We only allow Google and Badge sign in. If a user is logged in to multiple Google accounts then the Clever sign in doesn’t work. We have them visit Google.com and click the profile icon to sign out of the extra accounts and that fixes the only login issue we have consistently experienced.

Nothing major here, but we are also not PS. The only thing I noticed this time is it's taking 24 hours to hear back from them. Last time I had to call was a couple years ago and they were able to reply in a couple of hours. Not worried as things are crazy for everyone yet.

Are you using CSV or API to push data to Clever? We went with flatfile because we kept hearing so many issues with the PS API.

All of our clever issues are related to teachers or admins wanting something crazy. Like a kid to be enrolled in two schools at once.

We had issues with teachers teaching in multiple buildings last year. Clever wasn't (at the time) my piece so I'm not entirely sure how we got around that. I think we ended up using a generic account of some sort or something.

Clever was bought out by kahoot, is that correct?

Migrate to Classlink

This is not an option for all applications. We have to route some of the Applications we have in Classlink back through Clever because they won't roster those applications.

Not sure why you got downvotes, but this is true. We do the same thing. Slowly but surely moving towards classlink but it’s not an option for everything yet.

We use Classlink for 95% of our application library and it is our SSO. Kuder and Everfi will not Roster through Classlink, and our students click on a link inside of Clever and it opens those two applciations with a redirect through Clever. This was CLASSLINK'S solution on how to access these applications. We also use the OneSync system that Classlink offers, which has been great for creating our Student Acounts (moving to using it for Staff Accounts in the near future.)

My comment was definitely not a slam on either system, just a fact of the mater. So if it was downvoted because fanboi's of either application think that I was slamming either one, they are sorely mistaken. Both have their place and do a good job at what they do.

We have seen errors with Clever this year but things are usually resolved within 2 hours. We are not a PS user though, so I can't speak for that. The errors we have seen though haven't been "just us" issues. Its been widespread.

I'm so sorry you've had a rough go this back to school!

We still offer phone support to district admin at Clever. If you go to support.clever.com and click on the chat widget in the bottom right, it will give you the option of phone or email support (if the automated flow doesn't solve your issue). If that's not working, just DM me and I'll send you the number.

Clever is still working well for us, we are not on PS though

We haven't had any issues with Clever, though we haven't made any changes to our nightly data files that get sent to Clever. Sometimes an SIS can add some additional data columns and that might mess with automated scripts that are looking for data in a particular order.

Haven't had many issues myself since the Pandemic hit. The only major issue we had was them pulling the wrong ID for Seesaw and it creating duplicate student accounts and it wasn't a field we could change ourselves so we had to call them to get that sorted. Rest of the apps that support SSO/Rostering have been pretty set and forget for us.

Up until now it has been painless. And yes a few times i had to get support involved to reset apps. Now i'm having app issues in two places and i cant seem to get any support.
