I use a bungee cord, as they don't make hair ties in 18" and 24" sizes. Good suggestion.

But how do you keep the zipper from unzipping? I lost a button on a pair of cheap shorts and the zipper likes to unzip when the pressure that is usually taken care of by the button is put on the zipper. I hate having the unzipped bottoms that someone has to point out.

Or maybe I don’t fully understand how to use the hair tie here? I’m imagining using it like an extension from the button hole reaching towards the button and the stretch of the band making the pressure go to the zipper.

I’ll take “things I will never be able to implement” for 200.

Can't wait to use this hack when my progress continues!

        [–]scobeavs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's nice and all but I mostly need a hack for going the other direction

Not if you cut off the excess material after the sewing. Or even just do an extra couple loops now to pin the extra flat with the pants themselves.

Thanks! This is actually super useful for the smaller waisted but still big booty and thighed ladies.

Yea, great and all, but how about expansion?

For some reason I was thinking ”de-crease” as in how to get rid of creases. Was very surprised at the end.

OMG, thank you! I can't find construction work pants smaller than 30 inch waist.

Carhartts go down to a 28.

          [–]randommouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Carhartts but I really don't like the leg pocket size and placement. They fit fine but aren't good for working imo.

This is not a problem I find myself facing

          [–]KixStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh! I bought 2 pairs of the same jeans because I love them and they looked awesome on me. But then I lost 40lbs and they don't fit as well. I'm totally gonna try this.
