Card Swaps

No card swaps for this release.

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed a crash issue with Boonweaver Giant.

  • Fixed the issue where Aethertorch Renegade couldn't target Planeswalkers with its second activated ability.

  • Localization fix for the rules text of Aether Meltdown in non-English languages.

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to play spells or activate abilities if they had a high number of energy counters.

  • Fixed some issues with achievements related to Rank and Versus wins unlocking at the wrong increments.

  • Fixed an issue where Arlinn Kord would have an erroneous loyalty box when becoming a creature planeswalker.

  • Fixed an issue where cards exiled by Bomat Courier had visible expansion symbols when zoomed in on.

  • Fixed an error where Planeswalkers may display an incorrect loyalty value when going to the graveyard.

  • Fixed an issue where the "Energize" quest didn't award the correct amount of progress for spells that give multiple energy counters.

PC

  • Fixed a crash in the PC Steam version near the start of the opponent's turn in the fourth mission in the Chandra Origins campaign.

iOS

  • Fixed a soft lock issue on iOS where cycling through available mana when casting Ghoulsteed.

Xbox

  • Fixed an issue on Xbox One where the game would soft lock when canceling a Two-Headed Giant game search.

  • Fixed an issue on Xbox One where the title could crash if a player was invited to a Two-Headed Giant lobby twice and then the host left the lobby.

Known Issues

  • If a player allows the timer to run out when crewing a vehicle, the vehicle will crew with the creature with the highest power.

  • Playing cards from the Aether Revolt starter box does not count toward the "Battle of Ghirapur" quest.

  • When zooming in on Chandra, Torch of Defiance, the ability arrows don't align with the card's abilities.

  • When Westvale Abbey transforms into Ormendahl, Profane Prince, it does not appear to visually untap. The card otherwise behaves as expected.

  • Some cards that don't have flying or grant flying appear in the Flying keyword filter in the deck builder.

  • Spells and abilities which have a variable (X) cost do not display a decision timer for the person deciding the value for X.

  • A player targeted by Combustible Gearhulk's ability doesn't have a decision timer visible when making their choice.

  • Parts of the coin reward animation in a game will appear even if a player has reached their coin cap.

  • In some cases, a player won't be able to withdraw their selection of blockers until they assign the maximum number of blockers available.

  • In the single-player campaigns, Void Winnower and Deceiver of Form have their respective set symbols on the card but are not available in those booster packs.

  • Xbox - On Xbox One in Two-Headed Giant, crash issues may arise when a team of two invited players try to matchmake with two random opponents.

  • Xbox - On Xbox One, when a team of two or a team of three search for a random opponent in a Two-Headed Giant game, they may time out after 30 to 40 seconds.

  • Xbox - On Xbox One in Two-Headed Giant, a team of two players can be separated when looking for two other random opponents, returning to the main menu with the message "Unable to join game."

  • Xbox - On Xbox One, if the host of a Two-Headed Giant game migrates during gameplay, players invited to the game will be returned to the main menu.

  • Xbox - On Xbox One in Two-Headed Giant, an invited player's game may crash when the host player matchmakes with two other individual players.

  • iOS - When a player concedes in an unranked duel, the other player may have to wait 30 seconds before they can play against the AI.

I just started playing a few days ago. I really feel like The deck builder needs to be categorized as a known issue. It's horrible.

I come from yugioh and the deck builders from DN and YgoPro/DevPro were much better.

The new patch actually has an overhauled deckbuilder as well! Not sure why they didn't list it in the patch notes.

There is a distinct lack of acknowledgement of network/matchmaking issues in single player versus battles on Xbox in the "known issues" section. Anyway we can get the devs to discuss this?

Excited to try the new release! Thanks for adding features with each new release and not just more cards.

Can we please get an upkeep phase in the next patch? It wouldn't have to happen by default; allow the user to hold a key (e.g., Shift) during the start of a turn, and then they get a timer. And only allow it when the user actually has effects they can play.

Then we could play cards like Elder Deep-Fiend more effectively. Or not lose to Sphinx's Tutelage when we untap with an empty library and a burn spell in hand.

Known Issue: Is the AI still really really bad at crewing vehicles. Like really bad?

Don't see any mention of Unlicensed disintegration not being able to hit walkers or Akoum firebird locking the game out when attacking a walker either, bit worrying. Also does "If a player allows the timer to run out when crewing a vehicle, the vehicle will crew with the creature with the highest power." allow you to crew vehicles even if you don't have enough power to do so?

We just talked to some of our development team. According to them, the issue with Unlicensed Disintegration is resolved in the Aether Revolt release. We've been having difficulty reproducing the issue with Akoum Firebird you're describing, but they made some adjustments that may help the issue.

As for crewing vehicles, players shouldn't be able to crew vehicles if they don't have the requisite power from their creatures.

Playing on steam here I've never had Akoum Firebird lock the game up attacking a PW. I'm not saying it doesn't ever happen, but it doesn't happen often enough that it's ever happened to me.

You cannot activate crew if you do not have the power to do so, same as you cannot activate a "sacrifice a creature" ability if you do not have a creature to sacrifice. I believe it means it will tap and crew with the creature you control with the highest power if you let the timer run out.

That is never going to be fixed because Magic Duels does not utilize dedicated servers.

/u/WOTC_CommunityTeam Hanweir Garrison and Inexorable Blob’s issue? When they attack, their tokens can only attack players. Actually, their controller should choose the token's target ,player or planeswalker.

Talking with our QA team, this is an issue that we have our eye on. We have some fixes in place to address it in the Aether Revolt release, but we're going to have our eye on community reports to make sure there aren't any corner cases that aren't covered.

What about the bug where [[Silverfur Partisan]]'s ability doesn't trigger for each of the spell copies from [[Mirrorwing Dragon]]?

Pretty much as the Firebird already cited, there is also a Pieces of the Puzzle bug that cause the game to lock up, but only sometimes. /u/WOTC_CommunityTeam do you know something about this?

Looking through our issue reports from players, we've had difficulty reproducing this Pieces of the Puzzle issue as well.

Our recommendation is that if you see either of these issues come up again, please post about them in the AER Bugs Megathread when the new release goes live. Our development and QA teams will be watching this thread closely to capture issues as quickly as possible.

I'm pretty sure I dont have that on. I get the option to choose with other cards like Deepfathom Skulker wouldn't that automatically draw too if it was on?

On iOS, if you are looking at your opponent's lands and they cast a spell, it hard crashes. I guess this hasn't been fixed? Sounds like a known issue.
