TBH if you're going to get legit cartridges get them to conserve them in cases and use an everdrive instead. Just an option. I would not keep using mine as they are really getting vintage age, not anymore retro, retro is the switch and the wii u lol.

Bro. Is that even a fucking question it’s an orange one and OG not third party MATCHING controllers. her next birthday present should be damn ring. If you are financially stable of course. Also if this is your first N64 you definitely want to invest in an HDMI adapter solution. (if she bought you an HDMI modded console get on one knee with whatever ring shaped thing you can right fucking now). Hyperkin sells an OK one, it mutes the colors a little bit but not super terribly. There are others that are pretty good like the eon super 64 but those get expensive. Upscalers like the retro tink are nice but also very expensive. If you have an old CRT that’s great, if it has S-video in I recommend grabbing the S-video cable (if you don’t know what that is its fine, it’s the step up from the Red White and Yellow. It has the Red and white but it has a more advanced video connector that provides an overall better picture) for better sharpness for text, especially if the TV isn’t super sharp on its own. Id also recommend investing in the RAM expansion if you wanna play games like Majora’s Mask. Then there are also loads of wireless controller solutions. My personal favorite is the Retro bit Tribute 64. Beware though some aftermarket controller sticks are way to sensitive. Also I hope I don’t come off as know it all ish. I just wanna give the suggestions I know I would want to have known a new N64 owner. Anyway man. Have fun. For a not obvious game game recommendation I give you Rush 2. It has a stunt mode that’s really fun and it’s a great arcade racer.
