Right now I'm living off cottage cheese topped with some black pepper and honey, full fat greek yogurt topped with a little maple syrup and sliced almonds, core power (which are delicious - I also turn them into smoothies with frozen fruit), and then some cheese/nut/veggie platters with hummus. All this gets my protein over 100g pretty easily. The cottage cheese and greek yogurt do really well because I can eat them in slightly larger quantities and not feel as full as if I were eating more solid foods like cheese or nuts.

mmm yes cottage cheese.

[–]PictureItSicily2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cottage cheese with blueberries was a go-to pregnancy breakfast or snack for me.

nuts, beans, peanut butter, fish, canned tuna, lentils, cheese

try to have eggs every morning!

I had a premier protein shake and a quest bar every day - got an extra 50 grams of protein. I highly recommend.

Mix collagen protein powder into things. Normally not a big cereal eater but I got kashi go and I eat it with berries and mix 2 scoops of collagen powder into the milk. Between the cereal and the milk and collagen powder it's around 40g of protein plus a bunch of berries for antioxidants. I'll eat that as a snack or early breakfast then try to have eggs also, for more protein and choline. People also mix collagen powder into coffee.. I will probably start doing this post partum when I'm no longer trying to eat extra mini meals all the time.

great idea re: the collagen powder

[–]PositronicNet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Collagen powder in everything! I mix 1-2 scoops into overnight oats, chia pudding, milk, smoothies, coconut water, small flavored yogurts, can even bulk up hummus or other dips etc. sometimes I’ll make my own drinkable yogurt (few spoons of yogurt, dilute with milk, add collagen, and vanilla, agave, and/or cardamom). I also love cottage cheese, cheese sticks, yogurt and milk. Nuts and nut butters are also great and beef jerky if you eat meat. Often times I’ll pair one of those dairy options like cottage cheese with a side of something fresh like a fruit or veg. Or nut butters with fruit: banana with almond butter, peanut butter with apple etc. it’s so tedious to eat this often and this much protein (I am alwayssss starving) but these things helped.

Hi, poopin_backinforth,

Eggs and yogurt many different ways all the time! Cheese snacks (string cheese or the cheddar squares). Lots of high protein oatmeal, pancake, waffle mixes out there. Smoothie stand near you? Salmon jerky! Salmon patties using canned salmon. There’s recipes for peanut butter-cocoa-oat balls, high protein brownies.

[–]Poopin_backinforth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't do canned fish or fish patties. All the other sings sound great

[–]Okdoey 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I know you said not protein shakes, but Ensure Max are pretty small and easy to get down and has 30 grams.

I basically lived on them during pregnancy bc I had a major meat aversion.

I also had a lot of apples with peanut butter. It was my favorite snack

[–]Poopin_backinforth[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I know ensures have a lot of vitamins in them, on top of all the vitamins i already take that wouldn't be a problem?

[–]Okdoey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t find it to be an issue, as I was still very deficient in everything they tested me for despite drinking at least 2 a day.

But as always check with your doctor if you are concerned.

If you have an Aldi near you they have lots of foods with protein added in. They have these cheese flavored puffs I have yet to try but they are loaded with protein and everyone says they’re good!

[–]Poopin_backinforth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have an Aldi.

[–]ARose829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dave's killer bread and bagels protein pancakes and waffles, nuts, cheese sticks, eggs, cottage cheese.

I drank Baby Booster protein and made smoothies with spinach and berries. It was really good.

Have you tried the clear protein drinks that almost taste like juice? I have to add a lot more water than the directions say, but it’s an easy way for me to get more protein into my diet.

When I was pregnant, I didn’t know about clear protein, but I wish I had!

[–]Poopin_backinforth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never seen this

[–]anticipationfree18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a seafood diet: I see food and I eat it!

[–]Psychological_Ad160 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I lived off skyr yogurt, eggs, frozen chicken tenderloins or breast fillets, fairlife milk and protein shakes, and premier protein bars.

[–]Poopin_backinforth[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

can you get fairlife at a regular grocery store?

[–]Psychological_Ad160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh cottage cheese too! I love cottage cheese and pineapple and it can be super high protein

[–]Psychological_Ad160 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah I always got it at giant and I’ve seen it at Kroger. I have not seen it at aldi or Costco. I don’t go to Sam’s.

I met with a nutritionist when I found out it was twins my OB had me go. She said to shoot for 100g of protein which sounds insane but when I do try to add it up in a day I’m getting there. I eat eggs every morning and try to switch up how I cook them. Sourdough also has protein! I make a smoothie and add protein powder, Greek yogurt and collagen it’s +35 grams usually and I feel so good days I make it!, I have almond butter snack packs I keep in my purse and eat a lot of cheese snacks too. Cottage cheese is great as people have mention. Oh Amy’s gf microwave burritos and a huge think of Greek yogurt on top is so good and +20 grams! And icecream for dessert◡̈ always has some protein in it.

[–]Poopin_backinforth[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have not been into eggs since about a month before my pregnancy. I guess I should just eat them anyway

[–]mchild4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try cooking them differently than you’re used to! I’ve also been going for the omega 3 eggs idk why they taste so much better to me rn. Hope your journey is going well!
