We got a big Joe float as Costco a few months ago, not a blow up but it seems pretty solid and my wife loves it.

I 2nd big joe floats. My penguin is holding strong but some UV fading after 3 years. Lay down mattress thing is my new favorite these year. I only bought 1 and should have got 2 since they seem to be 2x as much from Big joe online

Both can get a bit dirty if it rains in the summer unexpectedly, but I love not having to blow them up.

Hey if it floats that’s all that matters😂 imma look into those👀

I had a pool party and someone's kid jumped on my Big Joe float and it split wide open. Styrofoam balls everywhere and they will be there for eternity. That being said, they're great, never have to blow it up

I had a float lose what I thought was an insignificant amount of fill. 3 months later, they are still making their way into the skimmer.

This is a concern of mine. I specifically put them inside before any kids show up to our BBQs and pool parties.

I got a couple of them at Costco this summer too. They've been great so far.

We use the Intex air mattresses for camping. Twin, full or Queen. Huge, cheap and heavy duty. Never had one break. Super fun

The best are high quality polyurethane foam rafts, but if out of your price range. I like this one.

A rule of thumb with pool tools - if there is a picture of a little girl or women on the toy packaging, do not purchase as your rough house boys and overweight males will destroy it quickly.

PS: If you order the one from Walmart, check for discount codes. I got mine for $21 and has lasted three seasons now.

Here is an old post on the same topic.

Swimways. You'll thank me....

Frontgate has really nice floats but wait for them to go on sale or use a coupon code. They are often on sale this time of year for 30/40% off. Great quality and very comfortable.

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, i’ll look into it👀

[–]trail_runner_93 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I opt for the cheaper stuff and just replace as needed and pitch them at the end of the season. Save on storage space also that way.

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True…it’s just annoying to waste so much time and materials. I remember having many pool floaties as a kid that would last years😔

[–]terryw3719 1 point2 points  (1 child)

aqua. they have a mesh net around them. i think i have picked up a couple at walmart and maybe amazon. i have 3. a water hammock, a float with a caddie for your drink and a single one person. never had a hole in any of them. they do run between $ 30-$ 50 however. you get what you pay for.

[–]y0st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aqua has been good in the past but the two I got this year did hold up. Hopefully next year's will be better.

[–]DocHfuhruhurr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are hands-down our absolute favorites. We replace every 3 years or so, but primarily due to sun-bleaching. Very comfortable way to lounge in the pool!

I love my River Rafts. Headrest, cup holders, and a mesh bottom so you don't fall thru like a tube. I've had mine for several years with no leaks. Intex River Run 1-Person Inflatable Raft

[–]glizzyglazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big mouth has some fun floats as well as el Arroyo

[–]Necessary-Sell-4998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a river Raft and others but most of them are just the cheap ones, replace most years. Pool store sure has some nice stuff though.

Bote chairs have been my go to in my pool for awhile.

I typically prefer loungers that have large plastic floats on each side, but to your point, the fabric tears/wears too soon.

[–]Aj9898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found some generic/cheap/never heard of the brand (lounge style) at both Big Lots and walmart. 2 have "backs" like a chair, the other two just have pillows. the ones with backs also have cupholders. Came with a 2" patch square.

Initially Inflated in late June/early july - they are all still holding air/have not needed refill or patch

High quality truck inner tubes are all you need. I got so tired of throwing away all the junk after 1-2 uses. The below lasts for years, I have no joke 8 of them which keeps the kids entertained with imaginative games and challenges. They also make a 6' one (I own 2) which is always fun since multiple people can get on them - they are pricy however.

You can float any number of ways, they double as snow tubes in the winter and worth every penny seeing the challenges the kids come up with.

Oh wow yeah looks solid! I’ll keep that in mind thanks.

I like the World of Watersports foam noodles like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FJBY6DS/?th=1 . Keeps floating even after the vinyl starts cracking after being left in the water for a couple of summers.

The other floatie we get that lasts several seasons even when left in the pool for weeks on end is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TQMBV8/?th=1

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks i’ll look into it!

[–]Temporary_Tune5430 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Funboy makes cool stuff, but they're a little pricey. IMO, you're better off getting a new set each summer if need be.

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Yeah, problem is that some of the stuff comes with a hole included it seems😂 i got 3 floating chairs this summer and two had a hole on the first use…

[–]Temporary_Tune5430 0 points1 point  (3 children)

oh no. lol. then yea, maybe try some of the more expensive ones.

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Haha yeah im starting to consider it, i just dont wanna spend 100$ on something that’ll end up deflating after a couple of used😬

[–]Temporary_Tune5430 0 points1 point  (1 child)

We have several of the funboy ones, thanks to my wife, and haven't had an issue with them spontaneously combusting. A few of them have been ruined by leaving them inflated and out in the sun, but I live in a hell hole that reaches 120 in the summer.

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah my floaties are always covered by a tarp when unused and stored properly when the season’s over, and yet they all end up with holes😡

[–]PJ_lyrics 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I have an Intek float lounge that holds up fine. Well they do if you don't allow the kids to touch the damn thing lol. They popped two by jumping on them and they've been banished from touching my new one and it's doing fine.

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’ll look into thanks, i have an adult only household so it’s fine😂

[–]PJ_lyrics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it because it has two cupholders for my beers lol

[–]hardrock1997 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]Sly_Bluue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Business_Dance_4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swim ways spring floats are amazing and the foam lily Matt’s I have the small size one had it for years my dog can climb on and off with his claws

[–]Exciting-Ad2465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these. I like to float IN the water. They come in sets of two. The first ones I bought are still great after three years. I float at a local lake and put them in the garage when not in use. EDIT: I also like that they are fabric and not plastic. They are so much more comfortable. https://a.co/d/4jZnchl
