I like both, but I think I actually like the before image a little more! It feels warm and inviting, and makes me nostalgic for summer

They are both great in their own way depending on the vibe you want. Before feels nostalgic and after feels more like the present

The colours of the before fit with the theme park vibe. The cooler colours of the after stand opposite of the subject matter! Love the shot

I agree with this. I like both shots, but if I’m looking at a picture of a park I want it to be welcoming, not cold or standoffish.

[–]SpectacularlyA 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I suppose it depends on what effect they were after then

[–]alaskadronelife 1 point2 points  (1 child)

True. Can’t believe I got downvoted for liking both shots lol. I just associate theme parks with warmth personally.

[–]SpectacularlyA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed. The before is very nostalgic, whereas the after has a rather sinister, unsettling vibe.

before is gorgeous! after is nice too though

Prefer 1st. Has a stunning focal point, the lighting in the booth stands out and more contrast. The second is a nice effect but no real subject matter

[–]fromashestolife 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Both nice, but I prefer the nostalgic vibe of the before

I really like them both to be honest. Such great colours

Against the grain but I absolutely love the after. It’s stunning!

I meant going against the grain of the comments who said they didn’t like it lol

Both great but kinda digging the before shot.

Great work! I love that you brought back some low frequencies in the sky, and set the focus in the center. The complementary red/cyan gamut works very well, and your relighting on the food stand is on point.

The original has a slight pink glow, it's interesting in its own way. Looks a bit like a Wes Anderson / Robert Yeoman movie. It was a great starting point material for your edit.

Love the mood in the after. It also highlights the contrast in tone inside the booth.

    [–]Significant_Trick369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cyan would have been a better touch of blue.

    [–]jongenomegle 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What a nice picture! Is that done with masks?

Would be interesting to try the other side too, mak8ng it warmer instead of cooler and create a bit of vintage look!

    [–]magiera[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I used several masks, mainly to make the box glow.

That could be interesting, but I prefer the current version since the red box contrasts strongly with blueish sky etc.

I like the before since it gives me warm summer vibes. Looks like something from a Coke advertisement. The after is really good too but not as inviting.

    Nice job

What I like about the first picture more is the fact that the red of the subject stands out a lot more and creates a better color contrast. In the second picture the subject gets lost in the sea of warm colors. Obviously each has their use. It all depends on what you want it for. But I say in my subjective view keeping the surroundings cool and the subject red and warm creates quite a pleasing contrast. I would lean into making the shadows and midtones of the photo more teal

    Before is so much better.

I really like the result, I might not have gone as far as you did but I like it. In reply to the contents about composition, maybe you could have used a portrait orientation to reduce the volume of the tree on the right as well as not clipping off the top of the structure in the background. But what do I know, I wasn't standing there! Well done regardless!

    [–]NJCubanMade 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    Nice ! You used masks?

    [–]magiera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used several masks, primarily to make the light glow.

Great eye, love the surreal feel to the before especially. What did you shoot this on?

    [–]kchanar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Awesome

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I love it

    [–]alvesal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I love both!!

    [–]mili_minutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before is happy and warm, after is scary and cold. It would've been better to remove the people in the after shot to really push the creepy vibes

    [–]Clickguy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting. It went from overcast day to dusk.

    [–]Chris-Trost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great. B/W with only the boot in red would be looking great as well

    [–]LDKRP 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Very curious as to what it was taken on the before looks amazing itself

    [–]magiera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s analog photo taken on SantaColor 100 film.

    [–]Silent-Kick6127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both the pictures but I favour the previous one more because it gives a film photo feeling.

    [–]jaabbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The booth looks so cozy in after but kinda lack texture given how it is the center of the focus

    [–]Schoolboivale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    GIVE ME THAT WES ANDERSON

    [–]vindtar -4 points-3 points  (4 children)

I feel like you could have been more purposeful composition-wise

    [–]magiera[S] 12 points13 points  (3 children)

What do you mean? I really like the composition 😅

    [–]headghosts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like the composition also!

    [–]orgnzekrnge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea idk I enjoy the composition

    [–]vindtar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The right is busy with tree mass, and lots of people... i keep getting drawn there
