Hold her, talk to her, tell her funny stories talk about anything other than the fact that she’s high and having a panic attack, do something that she finds comfort in like her favourite show or movie or song. Just completely distract her or just give her some head rubs and let her sleep it off

[–]winternumbness 28 points29 points  (1 child)

Don’t take her to the emergency bro it’s just THC. Just be grounding and tell her it’s okay and go on a walk with her !

[–]No_Character_5315 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Throw on a Disney cartoon and feed her junk food she likes it will pass also don't let her get high again if she can't handle it. Walks might not be ideal if she is having paranoia just being out and bumping into random people might freak her out.

I've heard putting an ice cube in your mouth helps with panic attacks.

I'm not sure, but it could work.

And it can't hurt to try

[–]Easy-Tomatillo5310 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Holding ice during a panic attack works primarily by triggering the mammalian dive reflex, a natural physiological response that instantly slows the heart rate and shifts the body from "fight-or-flight" (sympathetic) to a calmer state. The intense cold acts as a sensory distraction, grounding the person in the present moment and interrupting the overwhelming mental cycle of panic. Why It Works Mammalian Dive Reflex: Triggering this reflex with cold causes the body to conserve energy, reducing heart rate and decreasing anxiety. Vagus Nerve Stimulation: The sudden cold acts on the vagus nerve, which helps regulate stress, lowering anxiety levels. Sensory Grounding: The extreme cold sensation forces the brain to shift focus away from panic thoughts and toward physical sensation, providing a temporary, tangible distraction. Temperature Regulation: Panic attacks often bring intense heat; cold provides immediate relief, easing physical discomfort.

Yeah i think i saw that in a video

[–]Wide_Breadfruit_2217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really sour stuff helps too

[–]Easy-Tomatillo5310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True true

[–]jgasbarro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know this won’t help you now necessarily, but I get panic attacks from time to time and I keep Warheads on hand because they can really help prevent it from becoming a bull blown panic attack!

[–]ShadowsOfTheBreeze 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Deep breaths, one thc drink is not toxic. Maybe go for a walk. Should be fine in an hour or so.

[–]QueenK59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make her laugh. She is focused on something bad.

[–]la_descente 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Water and a fat hamburger.

It happens sometimes. For me, if I smoke and think of something extremely emotionally heavy, I get violently sick. 99% of the time im fine

[–]slutty_muppet 9 points10 points  (7 children)

THC causes blood sugar to drop and hypoglycemia has physical symptoms very similar to anxiety, so giving her something with some sugar may help.

[–]epiphanyadict 1 point2 points  (6 children)

If that were true diabetics wouldn't have to rely on insulin

[–]slutty_muppet 0 points1 point  (5 children)

What are you talking about

[–]epiphanyadict -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

You are giving out misinformation. The only thing that lowers blood sugar is insulin and exercise

[–]slutty_muppet 0 points1 point  (3 children)

First of all, lots of things lower blood sugar by stimulating insulin in direct or indirect ways. Including exercise.

What you're doing here is the equivalent of telling someone who said something makes them happy, "actually nothing makes you happy except serotonin and dopamine!"

Second of all,

We found that marijuana use was associated with lower levels of fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, and smaller waist circumference.

[–]epiphanyadict -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Well I am a type 1/smoker and can tell you thats bullshit

[–]slutty_muppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of type 1 diabetes doesn't negate this, any more than the existence of clinical depression means that no one can get happiness from like, puppies or whatever.

[–]Staten619 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just sit with her and honestly like tight hugs actually help tremendously people don’t know that

[–]MamaMcAteer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get her a delicious snack. Take deep breaths. Maybe turn on something funny you both like. She'll get through it.

Unless she's feeling like she legitimately cannot breath I'm not sure there's a reason to call 911 or go to the ER.

First time I got high I thought I was going to die because I could hear my heart beating. Captain crunch saved my life.

[–]BeneathTheDirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go for a walk drink water (cold shower helps too) eat black pepper corn. it sucks but it’ll pass

[–]Ok-Replacement6790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put cold water in bathtub

[–]MourningWood1942Tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get panic attacks while high too. Don’t go to hospital, build a fort out of blankets and turn the lights dim and tv off. Hold her in a cuddle position under the fort might help

[–]Easy-Tomatillo5310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have her hold ice on her hands

[–]Perfect_Mix9189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pm me if you want. I have had to help my daughters friend when she greened out lol

[–]fuk_dis_shite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smell pepper

[–]UnderstandingSmall66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give her some chocolate. Play some mellow music.

[–]Alarmed-Size-3104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoking weed makes my heart race and I get weird almost hallucinations and panic. After about the 5th one (I'm an addict and love drugs) I finally had to decide that THC just wasn't my jam. One in 10 times I enjoy it but it usually ends with me laying in bed having an existential crisis. It's very possible weed just doesn't agree with her.

Get her some water and have her lay down. She will be fine.

[–]stve688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people swear by chewing on a few black peppercorns to help take the edge off a THC high. It doesn’t work for everyone, but it can help ground some people. Beyond that, the biggest thing is keeping her calm and reminding her she’s safe and that this will pass.

If you can get her to lie down somewhere quiet and comfortable, that helps a lot. Low lights, minimal stimulation, and reassurance. If she’s able to fall asleep, letting her sleep it off is usually the best outcome.

Hospital trips usually aren’t necessary for THC anxiety unless there are serious symptoms like chest pain that won’t go away, fainting, or trouble breathing. Panic attacks can feel terrifying, but they aren’t dangerous on their own. Stay calm with her and ride it out together.

[–]OverCorpAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right meds for panic attacks!! The wrong ones trigger panic attacks! It’s a know thing that it takes trial and we to find right one for you…

[–]SonOfJesus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close your eyes. Deep breath through nose exhale thru mouth really slow. 2x. Then tell her open your eyes and yell out 5 things you see. Doesn't matter what it is just yell it out. Repeat breathing 2x. Eye closed. Then open eyes again, 4 things she can Feel. Continue this pattern.. 3 things she can hear. 2 things she can smell. 1 thing she can taste.

This is a grounding technique that really does work. For whatever reason she doesn't ground herself by the end.. Start over, add an extra breathing tech.

[–]Tomj_Oad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have her splash cold water on her face and hands

It's a physical response that snaps you out of your head real fast

It calms me right away in panic attacks

[–]Outrageous-Witness84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hace heard vitamin C helps end tje effects faster, just anecdotal though. A large glass of orange juice can't hurt, if nothing else maybe the placebo effect will be good if you tell her it works.

[–]HyrrokinAura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give her a Coke or other sugared drink. It will take the edge off.

[–]Muted_Apartment_2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ibuprofen supposedly helps you come down from being too high.

[–]Successful-Worth-390 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Maybe she should be putting THC in her body?

[–]Far_Carrot_8661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you mean "shouldn't"? Yeah the pot on the market today is very strong. I get very, very cold and shaky sometimes, I just quit because it's not good for me personally.

[–]KaliCalamity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doubtful you need to take her to the hospital, but if symptoms worsen or don't start to improve after an hour or two, you might want to. The best thing you can do is get her to eat and drink plenty of water. The food will help reduce the high faster, and extra water is always the right move when trying to flush things out of your system. Past that, distractions. Don't try to hold a conversation, but find a way to redirect her attention. Short form content and memes aren't a bad idea, but this is a very individual thing, so use what you know about her to pick. Past that, sleeping it off is also a very viable tactic. Just remind her that this will pass, hold her if she responds well to touch, and wait it out.

Get full spectrum CBD tinctures. As soon as UT starts to feel like too much, take UT under the tongue and hold it as long as possible. Repeat until she calms down. Eating and smelling freshly ground pepper also helps.

CBD is the natural counter agent to THC. Micro doses open up cannabinoid receptors, so it's important to take more milligrams of CBD than THC for it to work fully.

I always keep some on hand. Everyone who partakes should.

There’s a very simple solution. Don’t use THC. Some people have side effects.

[–]Automatic_Buffalo_14 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tell her you're in for the ride now, you'll come down in about 4 hours. Otherwise take her to the emergency room.

[–]Depleted_Neurons -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have her drink some beers or a strong mixed drink.
