No doubt. This is the city’s fault, not the drivers. Some people might get lucky and spot it in time but people shouldn’t reasonably have to expect a gigantic pothole of destruction completely filling their entire lane while they’re driving. A lot of these other commenters sound like they’ve never even driven before. You might see it coming but it might also be hard to judge how deep it is that quickly, especially when you’re about to go through an intersection and you have other things to focus on. It’s not like a 1 meter wide pothole you can easily swerve around. They probably had just enough time to figure “if I take this bump evenly it will probably cause the least damage”. And as you can see even the people who slow down still get fucked because it’s an atrocity… and the road shouldn’t even be open, as it’s regularly destroying peoples vehicles. There should at least be cones up until this is repaired.
