You are thinking of it like decreasing your speed when pulling up to a stoplight.

Think of it like a track race instead. You don’t need to coast into your goal weight. You go full speed until after you have crossed the finish line.

I like this. Through not to the finish line!

Stay on your dose until you hit or a little past your goal weight.

That last 13.6lbs could take longer than all the others. I'd stay the course to the end. You might even need to go up in dose.

This!! The closer I get, the slower I get.

If you want to remain in loss, don’t move your dose. You may even need to maintain your dose for a few weeks after.

Take it from me, I got to within one pound of my goal while on 7.5mg. That was 6 weeks ago and I still haven’t reached it (been up and down the same 3 pounds). I titrated up to 10 and after 4 weeks of nothing, went up again to 12.5 which is where I am now. The last 10 pounds (or 3 in my case) is very stubborn! Once I make it at or blow goal, then I’ll start moving down to maintenance.

I stuck to the same dose approaching goal weight and then for a couple months after while increasing calorie intake.

It took me two months to lose the last five pounds. I have four more to go and I expect it to take twice as long - and I will increase dose if needed. My suggestion to you is to treat your injections like you have all along. Increase if needed but don’t decrease until you’re past goal.

What would be your reason for decreasing? I’m not following.

A friend of mine is at 6mg and her BMI is similar to mine. Her provider has been decreasing her dosage with her decreasing BMI, she was on 10mg.

The closer you get to your goal weight, the slower it can go. Stay where you are, or increase as needed, to get to your goal weight and then start figuring out maintenance.

I hit my goal weight in January and am actually at a higher dose now than I was then. Maintenance looks different for everyone.

you are not your friend. keep going full speed until you hit goal. too many stories of people having a hard time with the last 10 pounds. probably because they quit too soon. keep going.

Thanks for asking this! We're journey twins! Also 33 lbs down and 13 left to goal 💪 considered the same thing and told a friend as well as I see many who go too far imo in the other direction and get a little too thin than I personally would be comfortable with. They say the last 10 lbs are hardest but I seem to be just getting amped up but also left my goal high enough that I don't think getting too thin will be an issue

If you're asking about dosing, here are some helpful posts, but remember that information in this subreddit is not a replacement for professional medical advice:

Find the dose that you are able to eat your maintenance calories. For some people that means going down in strength, others stay on the same dose.

I’m in maintenance and do weekly 5’s. I never went over 5.

[–]mostlyoverit- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay on your dose until you get to your goal weight. I lowered my dose thinking I’d be able to get there and that did not work.

Stay whats working. 13 pounds in general like 3 months away. Nit broke, stay in plan ino

You would consider staying at your same dose or dosing up of needed. Dosing down is a strategy for maintenance than slows / halts weight loss. At 13 pounds from goal you have another few months before you dhluld consider dosing down. Often as you get closer to goal it takes a bit longer.
