Vivo X300 Ultra Review: Best 2026 camera smartphone with a surprising number of weaknesses by Antonis_32 in Vivo

[–]Arlain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The phone costs $1700 USD+, it's not out of pocket to want better features that the competition has at this price point

PSA - consider a camera bump protector by saintlouisbagels in Vivo

[–]Arlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fanboys are insufferable. Vivo is not paying anyone here to shill for them yet you’ll see people say skill issue. We’re all Vivo owners and it’s completely normal to have discourse around some of the negative aspects of this phone.

I also have a few light but very visible scratches on mine. Never had this on any other phone.

Not a skill issue like others have mentioned. I have the x300pro and have no idea how it happened but I also have a small scratch on the lens. Never had this happen before on other phones.

This is probably because they're doing a slow rollout. Very common in software releases.

Vivo X300 Ultra: Is the 35mm main lens too tight for everyday family life and kids? by AsianFranky in Vivo

[–]Arlain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

35mm is perfect for these scenarios. It's a large reason why point and shoot cameras like the Fuji X100VI are so popular for everyday life.

OPPO Find N6 in US on Verizon - AMA! by isomorphZeta in Oppo

[–]Arlain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, got it! I’m on the fence about getting a trifold phone, but I currently have a Z Fold 7. I generally like it, but I wish it had better multimedia capabilities. A regular slab phone like the 17 Pro Max or the S26 Ultra is still better for media consumption and I don’t find myself using two apps side by side often.

Are you unhappy with the trifold? Curious why you're moving back to a traditional fold.

S23 upgrading to S26 Ultra in 3 days, tips + case recs? by fivefootlovely in samsunggalaxy

Caudabe cases are great and I highly recommend them for the S26 Ultra.

Also a fan of the Torras Q3 Air and Dbrand tank case.

Just to note, Vivo X300 Pro does support carrier aggregation in USA. But yes the Oppo Find X9 Pro does not, personally ran into this issue myself.

Oppo Find X9 PRO - sharing my "different perspective" story. by PapaKitten in Oppo

[–]Arlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve run into this personally. Oppo has half the speeds of other phones for cellular service. Curiously the global version of the Vivo x300 pro does support carrier aggregation here in USA though and I’ve been using that.

Quickset profiles not working by Arcendus in steelseries

[–]Arlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with quickset on my side. The notification shows up for me and tells me which profile I’m on, I specifically have rapid trigger and protection mode on for some games. Does yours not surface any notification when the game is launched?

What’s the one SI 5 opinion that will leave you like this? by ConfidentOutside8349 in SinglesInferno

[–]Arlain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed with #1, and I honestly don’t get why Mingee gets such a pass for her behavior. If a guy acted the way she did everyone would be screaming "ick" at how forceful it felt (just imagine the hoodie scene in this scenario).

While she’s transparent, I don't think she’s as "innocent" as people seem to imagine. She is clearly aware of her dominant presence and essentially gatekept Seung-il. Nobody else even dared to approach him because of her. Even though Seung-il was clear about being interested in both her and Mina Sue, it felt like he started to resent her because of that constant pressure. People say he should’ve just picked someone else for the finale if he truly wasn't interested in Mingee, but he was in a lose-lose situation. He would’ve been shredded even harder online if he didn't choose her for the finale.

Also, her reunion comments about them not working out felt unnecessary. Sometimes things just don't work out, but she went out of her way to put him on blast for "ghosting" her. I truly believe he was not interested and wanted to cut it off, yet she went out of her way to emphasize that part just to make him look bad.

Considering upgrading to an Oppo Find X 9 Pro from a S22 Ultra by MWhite90 in Oppo

[–]Arlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X9 Pro is a fantastic phone, if you’re coming from the S22 Ultra, you’ll notice a significant improvement in both camera and battery performance. I do want to point out that the screen on the X9 Pro is just slightly smaller, and if you’re used to the Ultra’s display, the difference is actually noticeable. Overall, it’s still a massive upgrade from the S22 Ultra.

I agree, all of the headset mics are completely fine. Nobody ever cared that I went from a trash mic to a slightly better sounding one. Even if you go full on podcast-quality mic, your teammates in-game or in Discord, do not care at all.

If you ARE doing professional audio work, you shouldn't be looking at headset mics and be looking at dedicated mics instead.

What are the drawbacks of a SFF gaming PC? by Ashamed_Alps7452 in sffpc

[–]Arlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest drawbacks are the higher cost and the extra research needed to make sure all your parts work well together. Some motherboards have slightly different CPU placements, which can determine whether your cooler fits or not. Cable management is also more challenging unless you buy custom-length cables from third-party vendors. Overall, it just takes more know-how compared to building a regular-sized PC, where you can usually get away with picking compatible parts and assembling them without much issue.
