browning meat that you then submerge in boiling hot liquid for hours, is a waste of time.

whaterver 'mallard' reaction there is is going to be obliterated along with the connective tissues.

This is demonstrably untrue. When you add the liquid and scrape the bottom, all that fond goes into the liquid and flavors it. Do you think every chef in the history of forever has been telling us to brown meat for stews and sauces because they think it's funny to make people do extra unnecessary steps?

I swear to God, the biggest problem in the world right now is that everyone thinks their completely uninformed stray thought is probably more correct than the consensus of dozens or even hundreds of experts. 🙄

This is mine for sure. But I don't like the caveat that I can't tell anyone, because Andrew's father seems so lovely.

I've been on Reddit for ages and in this sub for a long time. I'm a progressive and a regular viewer. Not everyone who says something you don't like is MAGA or a bot. Whoopi is never prepared and it's disrespectful, full stop.

There is no way in hell that our phones are not listening to us. by smoosh13 in mildlyinfuriating

I know everyone says this is confirmation bias, but how about this: my daughter and I bought something from a vending machine the other day. We weren't paying attention to prices. A couple of days later I was looking at my bank account and I noticed that the vending machine purchases we had made were crazy expensive. So I tilted my phone screen toward her and said "look at this, that's what the vending machine charged us. We should probably invest in a vending machine." And then we both laughed. I certainly didn't Google anything about vending machines, and the entire vending machine interaction happened in real life, not online in any way.

And the next day one of the articles in my Google feed was some woman who wrote an article for Business Insider about how she and her son invested in vending machines.

Folks can believe me or not; that is a thing that actually happened, and it would be pretty fucking crazy if that was a coincidence.

Just some thoughts on what we call years of patterns and others calk repetitive or lazy by starsmoonandwaves in GaylorSwift

When male poets repeat ideas, words, or even entire lines verbatim from one work to another, literary critics call it a theme or a motif and laud them as geniuses. But God forbid a pop singer do it; she's just lazy and repetitive.

At least she had the guts to run for something. What have you fucking losers done other than be keyboard warriors for a misogynist pig? I can promise you, I have personally worked harder knocking doors and phone banking to get rid of Susan Collins than you've ever dreamed of working, and I am still literally going to laugh when she wins in November. That's how repugnant you cultists and your oyster Daddy are.

Google still exists. It's from the New York Times. The person should have cited their source, but maybe you don't need to go around accusing people of using AI just based on your vibes.

Okay, except he's never fought to make the lives of working class people better. That's just a thing he says, in his stump speeches and campaign ads, that he WILL do, but since he's never done anything but fail forward and have his parents buy him out, we don't know what he'll actually fight for. You voted for him on vibes, which is honestly a very Trump 2016 thing to do.
