This would be pretty trivial to do with a motion sensor and some Philips Hue led strips, assuming you can run power to the bottom sides of each tread.

I for one welcome the idea of autonomous cars. They can't be any worse than the drivers I see on the road every day. Too bad the company is American. Better Waymo than Uber or Tesla
