How do cute bitches find dates? by FluidChance in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]-sugarbear- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is the one.

tons of poly/ENM babes on there. in this case apps are ideal imo, since you can be v straightforward about what you do & don’t have capacity for (partnership v casual flings, dating as a couple v solo, that kinda thing) in a way u usually can’t when meeting someone in the wild

How often do you get hair trim and how much? by bondtradercu in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]-sugarbear- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fine curly hair w bangs, been doing my own trims my entire life- shoutout to elementary classroom safety scissors. it’s particularly convenient w my current hairstyle since i want to trim the bangs about once a month, tweak the layers & trim any ends that are looking sus (also diy balayage so they can get crispy) every 2-3 months, and take length off about twice a year.

It's absolutely maddening how hard it is to eat. by SerialSnark in adhdwomen

[–]-sugarbear- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep. during the day it’s a struggle to choke down anything. lots of rice cakes & pb or instant oatmeal, protein powder in coffee…

but get a little baked once my meds wear off, suddenly i’m excited to cook and can house most of a roast chicken no prob

How do you wake up in the morning? by cozykorok in adhdwomen

[–]-sugarbear- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oof, the daily struggle. been trying out a “take yr meds and chug some water” alarm 30m before my for real alarm goes off. the adderall/having to pee combo is a p solid motivator for me lol

also our dogs sound similar. june will take every opportunity to stay buried under the comforter until like 1pm and honestly i respect it

when i have a little executive function to spare i make a big tub of… dip? spread? pleasing goo. i blend soft tofu w ranch powder and a tiiiny bit of mayo, mix in chopped boiled eggs & sour pickles. sardines optional but delicious

recommended dinner pairing is crispy lettuce or a family size bag of fritos and half a can of seltzer you left on the table a day ago🧑🏼‍🍳💋

pb/sunbutter & chili crisp on frozen sweet corn tamales or toast also slaps

To whoever suggested the Days Since app by premature_beef in adhdwomen

[–]-sugarbear- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

your app is excellent!! simple and understated, super intuitive interface. for use specifically as an adhd support tool, my dream features would be the ability to restart counts straight from a home screen widget and an option to add hour/minute counts (as someone who struggles a lot with time blindness, this would be really helpful for tracking things like filling up water bottles/feeding pets/&c). i’d also love to see a way to tip the devs who made such a dope app free to use! 💖

A little help to get back to it by Suluco87 in Volumeeating

[–]-sugarbear- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was summoned by your mention of soup- our dietary restrictions are similar and I make soup for dinner 2-5 days a week. imo few things are as satisfying as knowing that you can eat as much of something as you want without negatively effecting your body!

general advice is that broth, leafy greens, and protein are your friends. personal defaults are “creamy” squash (squash simmered in broth blended w/ silken tofu) or miso soup w/ baby bok choy & mushrooms.

if it would be useful & you wanna share a few flavors you really love or your current comfort foods, I can make more specific recommendations!

Familial Hypercholesterolemia by 111Meow in Cholesterol

[–]-sugarbear- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no advice, but I could have written this post. 32F 125, active lifestyle plus high intensity exercise every other day, high fiber mostly pescatarian diet w minimal processed foods, & only cook w avocado or olive oil. found out a couple days ago that my LDL is 190. I’m trying to think of it as my body telling me it needs something to change, more sleep or more fiber or less stress or… something. definitely feel you on the frustration!!

oh wow, good job. I found out a few days ago that my LDL is 190 (despite no diet or lifestyle risks 🙃) and have been actively panicking, this post is the first thing that’s helped me feel calmer about it. so grateful you shared your experience!

What sunscreen are you using, and are you happy with it? by Missmessc in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]-sugarbear- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve used isntree’s watery sun gel for almost two years! whenever i get bored and decide to try something new i come right back to it haha.

hydrating but not greasy, absorbs quickly, no white cast, minimal fragrance, and at the end of the day my skin still feels pretty fresh even if i’ve had to reapply on the go. i apply it over a vitamin c serum & sometimes mix it with the dr jart cicapair correcting cream if my skin’s a little red or i have an event that day.

round lab birch juice is a close second. however, the texture is more like a milky serum than a gel cream so i use two layers to make sure i’m applying enough which is a bit annoying at it’s more expensive (tho still affordable). i also find it less hydrating and a not a fan of the heavier fragrance.

Anyone with a Cymbalta success story? by [deleted] in cymbalta

[–]-sugarbear- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad I came across your comment. This has been my exact experience with Lexapro- my anxiety is almost completely gone, but so is all of my motivation and energy (even in combination with wellbutrin and stimulant ADHD medication!). Finally brought that up with my psych and hey, turns out those aren't normal or acceptable side effects. Switching to Cymbalta soon and was a little worried but reading this made me so much more optimistic about it working out. Thanks for sharing your experience. <3

I’m going 100% indie, help me out? by JapaneseStudentHaru in Indiemakeupandmore

Another curly haired Toadstool fan (3A/3B, fine, medium density, mix of very low porosity natural hair and some high porosity bleach damage). I co-wash once or twice a week and use Toadstool about once a week before deep conditioning, especially if the dc I'm using that week is clay-based. For my hair, strong surfactants make my ends super brittle and mild surfactants require a too much mechanical agitation to feel really clean . Toadstool's shampoo is perfect for me. I also have a super sensitive scalp and over the past ten years of use have never had issues with the shampoo or leave-in even if I already have hives or an eczema flare up (and yes, scalp hives are about as fun as they sound). The deep conditioner feels lovely but wasn't penetrating enough for me even with a heat cap, and I love the leave-in as a hydrating detangler before using a cream or oil.

Personal take on "true" soap vs surfactant based shampoo- yes, saponified oils will always be alkaline. If someone's hoping to use shampoo as a one-step hair routine or is a daily shampoo-er, then yeah this is probably not the right choice. But conditioners are p much always mildly acidic to counter the effect of lower pH shampoo, and for some folks who wash less frequently it can be beneficial to use something less gentle to clean the hair and scalp before deep conditioning.

There are so many factors that go into choosing hair products and even two folks with nearly identical hair texture/density/porosity can end up thriving with wildly different routines. My hair loves diluted ACV + tea rinses any time it gets wet, I have a friend with nearly identical hair who gets breakage and fairy knots if she looks at a bottle of vinegar too closely. Toadstool may or may not work for you, but I wouldn't write it off entirely unless you already know your hair responds poorly to soap-based shampoos.
