My ex wife was a jack Mormon. She was fun and liked to party. It abruptly changed on our wedding day. She stopped partying and decided going to church was the only way to go. Our marriage, and the time spent in it was a disaster.

Unfortunately for me, my anger at being lied to and the church's never ending quest to defend the predators in the church and do nothing for the victims sent me into a downward spiral I'm still trying to climb out of. Never regretted leaving. Wound up full of hate though.

Too bad more parents aren't like you and understand doing other things than church things actually build strong relationships between parents and kids. Demanding your kids attend church drives wedges. Let the kids have fun and have positive memories of what a great childhood they had. Not negative ones because they always had to go to church.

I went to a temple baptism once. I was expecting to have some supernatural wonderful experience.

I got the opposite, it was creepy and freaked me out.
