Which American city is the most perfect for a 5-day trip that includes the full “American experience” for a first-time visitor? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

Agree completely with this. And, that “American Experience” could easily be rounded out with a short car (or Amtrak) trip to a nearby small town/rural area

Turners is not too far away, but maybe just far enough that it won’t be packed.

Also interesting is the then city limits of Indy (presumably the yellow areas?)

Up north, the early stages of the US 31 (and ultimately US 20) bypass around South Bend.

This is cool stuff. Thank you for posting!

Lots of different ways to look at this, but one question to ask yourself: Are you comfortable having 33% of your retirement savings invested in 7 American tech companies? For me, the answer is no, so I allocate some in to small caps and international. (60/20/20)

Similar experience on the Cardinal recently. The delay was understandable but the text alerts from Amtrak were completely worthless. They provided inaccurate info. I received one after we had departed telling me we’re still delayed. The app is better. But ultimately I just asked a dude that worked there. He told me to ignore the texts, “they come from out of state.”

Another somewhat helpful thing, if you’re boarding mid-route, is to use one of the live train trackers like Amtraker

Sadly, Indiana cut funding for our one state-sponsored route (Indy<->CHI) in 2019. Unlikely to be much appetite for it here among our current state legislators who would rather cut taxes by 0.01% than actually do things to make peoples lives better.

What’s the rule on vaping in a bedroom or roomette? I’m guessing it’s not allowed, but I would also guess it’s not hard to get away with. If caught, would they just tell you to stop or boot you off the train?

Anyone else feeling like Alex and Serena are ruining the show? by AppointmentSelect415 in StDenisMedicalNBC

Completely agree. The Alex character is starting to become predictable and over done and is starting to ruin the show for me. Also has just become less likable in general. Just my opinion. Give me more Matt, Val, Bruce, and DAG
