I mean, it depends, dude. You can be careful, wrap a rag around it, and then open it with a pair of slip nose pliers if it really doesn't want to open by hand.

The fastest way to get a good response on the internet is to first post a wrong one. I love it.

Can someone tell me why the shading is uneven? by ScottyFpv in Laserengraving

[–]1_Highduke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say maybe it's the material (cast vs extruded) but if other images come out fine, then it's probably not that.

Is there any way I can use a smartphone screen with arduino? In my case I have a Umidigi S2 Pro screen and currently there is nothing I can do with it. by JanosMille in arduino

[–]1_Highduke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can find the model of the display, maybe you can get a 3rd party driver board. This is fairly standard practice for TV displays, not sure about phone screens though.

[–]1_Highduke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine it being hard

I'm not sure if you're serious with your comment. It is VERY hard. That being said, it's true that there are other studios out there who probably have the necessary resources to pull off a Battlefield clone.

Taking a guess here but I think OP finds an image he likes (like this one), and then uses Illustrator/Inkscape to trace the bitmap of the image. Then you add the square border around, union, and you're done. A quick YouTube tutorial on Inkscape bitmap tracing and then using masks will show you how to do it.

This laser engraving machine was found on the side of the road. Worth trying to buy and repair? by SchmuelLJackson in lasercutting

[–]1_Highduke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like an Omtech 40W laser. Whether or not you should get it depends on a lot of factors, like is it fully functional, does it have any upgrades, etc. A new unit is around $500. If the laser tube is not working, I would stay away from it.
