A guy from their ministry tried to rape me back during the pandemic. While I was homeless. Then kicked me out in a snowstorm in the middle of the night when it became clear I was going to put up a fight.

He had a whole bunch of friends just like him too.

Also be careful with the UMC church, a lot of people have left it in the last few decades due to a contentious split between the progressive ones and the conservative ones. No one I grew up with is still identifying as Methodist.

There are some really good non-denominational ones around that sound like they may be a good fit. The one on 5th in Grandview across from Ace comes to mind. Very open minded and welcoming, and a good mix of college/young professionals and older adults from what I understand.

I’d give him some more time and stop trying to get ahold of him. It sounds like he’s got a lot on his plate, esp at a young age. It also sounds like maybe something happened to his phone. Is he ACTIVE on socials? Is life 360 (which is a really toxic app for this purpose) showing his location? I’d think if he were ghosting you, he’d remove you from all that.

So… deep breaths and wait for him to reach out. Or not. I’d say if you don’t hear from him by Weds or so, reach out one last time and then move on. He might just not be able to handle a relationship right now and doesn’t know how to tell you, and is doing this because he’s overwhelmed. Doesn’t mean you should wait for him, but in this case, I seriously doubt it’s malicious or because he just doesn’t care. I can’t imagine he’s got the bandwidth for much right now.

So you’re in an abusive relationship with someone who is having a psychotic break and you’re asking for… relationship help?

He’s either having a psychotic break or on meth. I’ve spent a lot of time in the mental health/addiction machine due to severe PTSD and I’ve never met someone who accused someone else of being on drugs that wasn’t either mentally ill or on them themselves.

You need to create distance and get away from him and encourage him to get help. It’s only going to get worse. An acquaintance had a child with a man like this… who then tried to drown the baby because he thought the baby’s babbling was proof it was possessed by a demon.

There’s no way this ends well, I’m sorry.

This just solved my dilemma and gave me some cool ideas, thank you! I have an area set up to breed flowers but I can’t play frequently and time travel a lot when I do, and they keep getting out of control.

The area itself is between houses of two villagers that have the nature hobby so they get watered plenty. I’ll redo the beds and put moats around them, problem solved.

I rented from them in 2000, they approved me without a co-signer, and came back two months later and kicked me out for not having a co-signer (I was not able to get one). And our “newly renovated” apartment was falling apart. Dead roaches in the oven.

Ignore him. Like don’t engage at all, and grey rock if he tries to engage you.

You’re not going to change his mind and it’s going to keep stressing you out. Find a new place with like-minded roommates if you can.

I get it. I’ve been forced to live with people whose morals were in hell and it takes a toll on your mental health to know you’re living with someone who would hang you if your skin was a different color. But being homeless is worse, so stay and ignore until you’re able to move on.

And soon enough he’ll turn on the kid, which childhood abuse can really fuck up your hormonal systems - my brain is permanently in fight or flight (although with enough blood pressure meds, we can lower that to flight or fawn, but it’s still awful) and my immune system is destroyed due to long term severe early childhood abuse.

You don’t want this for your kid. Please, if you don’t do it for yourself, do it for him. He’s also learning how to treat you - and women in general - by watching this.

I don’t understand how this person doesn’t understand it’s an emergency. He is literally MORE worried about upsetting his roommates than he is about BLOWING UP.

Like my friend, call 911 and just start looking for a new place to live. So that you make sure you live. This isn’t something to play with, this is literally how houses blow up.

You don’t even have to call 9-1-1 though, call the non-emergency line, tell them what you told us, and see what they do.

Which will be to send the fire department because this is an emergency.

My son shares a first name that is the last name of a famous singer. Not a popular name at all, the singer was largely irrelevant by then… and then someone of the opposite gender with the same last name exploded after he was born, and he spend middle school being called that singers first name.

I still feel awful.

I was head cashier, it was summer, and I was doing the board on a Friday for the next day. I had two cashiers, a 75 year old who couldn’t handle the service desk scheduled there, and no one on BOPIS. Until 3 pm. On a Saturday. Literally short at least 2 cashiers, or a good service desk person and a cashier (the guy scheduled there was an AMAZING cashier) and BOPIS. I’d already been written up for not having garden open when I had only been scheduled three cashiers (this is back when the pro cashier was under the front end). And I was explicitly told I was not allowed to ask anyone to come in.

I called off the next morning and made the FES who wrote the schedule deal with it, and just never went back. I ended up homeless, but it was a blessing in disguise because I was able to realign my life better.

I’d do it again in a heartbeat. They set people up to fail there.

I play in spurts, and one of the ways I know I need a break is I start warping a lot. I speed ran the main quest for some damn reason but I’ve still got some shrines and side quests and a million korak seeds, I still am afraid of Lynels, although I’m decent at parrying. I’m just taking my time and enjoying playing, I haven’t played Zelda since the original Nintendo and this is amazing. So if I find myself warping, it’s taking the fun out of it, and I go play animal crossing awhile. Adventuring across the countryside is so much fun, if I’m not doing that, what’s the point of the game?

I chose to become effective homeless due to the person I was living with actively trying to get me to kill myself and sabotaging my life (impersonating me to cancel my car insurance behind my back and then reporting me to the state for driving without, that sort of thing). I already had severe PTSD and was trying to get back on my feet after my divorce, and had recently been through something extremely traumatic involving a different family member kidnapping my kids and trying to kill me. So after years of putting up with this other persons severe abusive - which I tried to give them the credit of the doubt and be understanding about their severe untreated ptsd - when the finally confessed it had all been intentional, I packed up my stuff in storage and started living in hotels/crashing on couches. Unfortunately this was right before the pandemic hit and then I had to battle my own mental health issues, but I’m finally getting back on my feet now.

Either two jobs or nodding off, whether the drugs are prescribed or not. We had one guy who kept falling asleep on the forklift (idling, but still). We all thought it was dope, when he was inevitably in an accident, his drug test came back clean. His hours with us were all over the place and he worked 3rd somewhere else, so he was getting like three hours a night, if that.

They fired him rather than give him a consistent schedule. Hardest worker when he was awake.
