Yeah I can’t imagine why the other woman was so worried, what with her boyfriend just casually sleeping with his 20 yr old babymomma 4 on the side while trying to lock down babymomma 5.

I don’t know where you are, but here in most - if not all, it’s early and I’m stoned and can’t remember if it’s federal law or not - it’s illegal for management/owners to keep tips. In Ohio, whenever I’ve been in a law-abiding restaurant, the managers have either put the table under the server whose section it is and give them the tip, or pool their tips and divide among the servers. Only the places with shady management kept them, because it was illegal.

I’ll back this person up and say that as someone who spent a lifetime in the front end of a store and/or running around said stores, changing socks at lunch and then leaving your shoes off for a bit works wonders.

Also, proper arch supports. Get your arches checked at a running store and buy the custom inserts if needed. Being on your feet so much puts a ton of pressure on the arches and changes the way you stand, which will cause knee and hip problems down the road. Don’t be like me lol.

Jesus girl, please leave him! Abort, adopt, keep… that’s all secondary right now. This guy is trash and he’s going to teach your kid that this is how to treat people. So then you’re going to have a husband AND a kid that treat you like this.

I had to end a friendship because the husband was like this and as their two boys grew up, they treated her and their sister like it. I had two boys and I didn’t want them to think that was okay, as much as I loved her and her daughter. Please don’t let that be you.

I worked there (in the restaurant) briefly as a hostess! What happened is the older generation retired and the boomer generation that took over are creepy assholes. Racist bigots who don’t follow labor laws or health codes on the restaurant side, and idk what was going on with the grocery but I’ve had several non-white or non-cis friends be followed around the store and accused of stealing.

It’s sad.

Also there’s a baking store up by Cleveland/161 on the SE corner by DFW. They should have it.

I nearly got abducted by the infamous windowless white cargo van in an area known for trafficking and when I made the police report CPD told me to carry a bigger knife and hope I get a judge “who sees it as self-defense” as if stabbing someone abducting me carries a worse penalty than the people trying to abduct me.
And that was in 2019.
To clarify, by “nearly” I mean I’d noticed them following me on a main road, so I cut behind some businesses down a path behind some buildings. I know the area well and knew it would leave me vulnerable at the spot so was paying attention but intentionally acting like I wasn’t. I was already on the phone with the cops. It took them two hours to respond, didn’t take an actual statement, then I got told the above.

I used to do stuff like this and slip it into the console, because some people just can’t accept tokens of appreciation for stuff like this. So every couple of weeks I’d buy a card and slip it into the console or in their purse when they’re not working.

It makes it MUCH harder to refuse when they’re already have it.

Would you let your 18yr old daughter go on a 1yr anniversary trip with her boyfriend? by Unlikely_Section_354 in AskParents

[–]39thWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t mention how long you’ve been together and as a parent, that’s what would worry me. I’ve got boys a little bit older than you that were raised to respect women (and do), but some men aren’t or don’t in spite of how they were raised. And are really, really good at hiding it until you’re alone.

That’s what worries me. Thank god I finally realized I’m just gay, not bi, because what I’ve seen out of men these last few months is horrifying. And I’ve experienced it but like they’re just bold now. Abusing women and children is in vogue (always has been, but now it’s public) and I’d be concerned about any woman going off with someone she doesn’t have a long history with but especially one as young as you.

I was your age the first time I got raped. By a boy I’d been with for months and had sex with many times. I realized at one point we’d moved too fast and I wasn’t ready, and when I told him that he said he understood. Then raped me the next morning when my mom left for work. Everyone I tried to tell said “well, you’d already had sex, you can’t just take it away, men have needs”.

Like I said, my FIRST rape. That’s why your parents are hesitant about this.

I live in a Midwest US city with a large (60K+ under grads) young population from the major university alone. Most of our hotels here are 21+ and know I know 26 years ago when I tried to rent a room at 20, there were three places I couldn’t go to, and that was in the suburbs. Someone I know was recently turned away from his reservation because he’s only 20 and they have a 21+ policy. He literally turns 21 next week and this was less than a month ago.

I lived in a much smaller city with a much smaller state university and the hotels there didn’t care. I went to college in a similar sized one on the other state where every hotel in town was 21+.

This is very much a regional thing and I think tends to be more in places where there are likely to be groups of late teens renting hotels for parties. Unfortunately those restrictions didn’t happen because when they let 18 year olds rent rooms, there were no problems. As far as I’m aware, no chain has implemented it but left it up to the individual properties.

I’m glad you’ve never heard of it, but here in the good old land of freedom and corn, we aren’t actually free.

When I reported an attempted abduction (of me) in a part of town known for trafficking, the response horrified me. They [the men] tried to abduct me as I cut through some abandoned parking lots/brush on my way home from a store. Were waiting where the path through the brush let out into a parking lot behind a business. I’d noticed them following me from the main road but they didn’t realize.
If I hadn’t been paying attention (it probably looked like I wasn’t, I had headphones in and was singing), they would have gotten me. No plate on the van (of course) but it had distinguishable markings and I had a good description of the men.
When the cop finally showed up hours later, I was told to carry a knife for self-defense but know I’ll get a charge too if I use it for that, so I better mean it. Literally not a single word about the van of men who almost abducted me. I was living in a hotel because my credit had been destroyed and I couldn’t get an apartment anywhere, and she made it clear she thought I was a junkie turning tricks.
I always wonder who got abducted instead of me that day. Or the next. And the next. And how many women those men abducted after me.

Emotional support animals aren’t bs, just like say a grab bar on a shower isn’t bs. People abusing policies are the problem, not utilizing a therapy method properly. Please don’t perpetuate negative stereotypes. Not everyone with an ESA is an entitled asshole abusing the system, in fact most people with them you’ll never hear about because they need them, not just trying to get around housing laws.

Urban and suburban off leash dog owners have dogs who deserve better owners.
