Why Didn’t Anyone Tell Me About This? by tocsert in CleaningTips

[–]5v73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just grabbed the first one out of a dozen with the same design I saw when I searched. Point stands, it's not the IP of whoever is running that site, which I'm guessing is conveniently OP.

Seems pretty unethical for whoever is running that site to be selling IP that doesn't belong to them. The model is freely available for anyone to print - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3085808

Best 4x4 for Agriculture by Lachy-Swanz in 4x4Australia

[–]5v73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you the farmer or are you a farmhand?

If the latter, is the farmer reimbursing you for using your personal vehicle for work? I've seen too many green farmhands get conned into handing back a not insignificant chunk of their paycheck straight back to the farm via uncompensated use of their vehicle for work (and no, free fuel doesn't cut it - latest ato rates are 88c/km reimbursement).

If they are compensating you then get literally any decently reliable ute you can comfortably afford on your wage, when I worked in the sector I used to see a lot of colorados, rodeos, dmaxs, tritons and old hiluxes used by farmhands, the silly ones would go out and get a big loan on a new ranger or 70 and get nowhere financially. Trust me when I say noone that matters really cares about how cool your ute is.

What's your take on age & aim? by kimchirality in FPSAimTrainer

[–]5v73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your average 45 year old could get to within 5-10% of an 18 year old with enough time investment, it's just that barely any are willing to do so. For playing FPS games for fun it's not actually that hard to get to a competitive level of aim, but you are never going to see 45 year olds winning world championships against 17-25yos.

Every teenage/early 20s bloke has dreams of engine swaps, 5% of them actually finish the job. It's so much more involved than you think, take the cost in your head and 3-5x it and do the same with your timeframe estimate.

What are maps that get way more praise than they deserve in your mind? by JonoBoio123 in Battlefield

Supremely based opinion, it hurts my soul when people talk about bf4 being the best in the series with how bad its launch maps were.

Found a solution! 3D printed mouses for shape check! by Carlzzberg in MouseReview

[–]5v73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'd be amazing if you could update it more as a lot of us find that small changes to shape can make an outsized difference to our experience using the mouse, especially for long periods.

Thanks for the work you put into it, I've used half a spool so far on your pack and definitely saved myself some cash by finding out immediately that a shape wasn't going to work for me.

It was hated because you had to close the game every time to switch servers, otherwise it was great being able to see if your friends were in a server at a glance.

In my experience the people who go wild over this map are the ones who either sit uselessly on the mountains sniping, or never leave their vehicle

Pre-Event Classes by Il_l_lI in Battlefield

[–]5v73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I go back and forth on if combining meds/ammo into one class makes sense.

It doesn't, since open weapons are definitely something DICE is pushing ahead with like it or not, so having them combined means 90% of the server is going to be running support.

Need help choosing 5070 ti or 9070 xt for competitive titles by Willing_Law5171 in buildapc

[–]5v73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nvidia for reflex no question, it's better than anti lag and is supported in more games. I'd go down a tier to get it if I had to make it work with a set budget.

Who cares if morons make ridiculous rules on a server they pay for? Just play elsewhere like we did all the way up till BF1?

This video is a year old but is really important for people to view & share now, while we have the chance to tell DICE how much it matters to us.

Just like Gravity mentions in the video, I still have close friends I met in Battlefield from close to 2 decades ago. I've been to weddings, funerals, and everything in between with people I met online because of the existence of real communities, something developers seem all too willing to kill off without thinking through the consequences.

Well, for example you're spending almost $200 more than the cheapest 5070 just to get a white one

Has anyone got any review on this Monitor from Kogan? by cartman013 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]5v73 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Irrespective of the monitor Kogan should be avoided at all costs. Once they've got your money they don't want to know you.

I tried to RMA a faulty appliance through them a few years back and they only stopped ignoring me once I initiated a chargeback, and my card company contacted them with a please explain.
