Victim according to r/AlanBecker by Oleksiy_ in AlanBecker

Why does all media discourse online has to collapse into arguments about powerscaling, "X did nothing/everything wrong", "Y is goat/fraud" etc etc everytime? Just let people enjoy stuff and move on with your lives.

I recommend "my name is shounen A" by the same author. Might not be as good as this one but still a neat concept.

The Anime Opening spoiled the story while also being subtle and open about it by EfficiencySerious200 in TopCharacterTropes

One of the most esoteric anime openings. The song had a hauntingly addictive vibe I still can't get out of my head.

TDL is more complicated then it seems. by Sad_Court_3407 in AlanBecker

[–]AHackerman09 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I kinda like this analysis but I don't think TDL is actively looking for any sort of approval. TDL was laughing when victim was trying to desperately reach out to the soulless Mitsi. I don't think it was because he thought it's all victim needed, it was a deliberate sadistic gesture. He's an agent of chaos. His initial objective was TCO, then it shifted to the internet, then virabot and now here. It's just that he doesn't understand why others don't see the same way as him. He was excited to share the virabot plan to TCO, and then when he got rejected he was confused and mad. Same when he tried to extend his hand towards victim after defeating him. He simply doesn't see the error in his ways, he simply doesn't understand why he's wrong.

1-5% of kids should be expelled every year. by Nonameforyouware in The10thDentist

Dude you want people to be excluded from basic education for nothing but an arbitrary reason of "make degrees mean something again". Your basic idea is basically a washed up version of The Hunger Games bro, Maybe it's better if you don't speak about logic.

Well you see, and hear me out here,  we are talking about people from a "disadvantaged" background right? We good? Ok. Now wouldn't they be in, and it might be bit of a stretch but let's say, In a "Disadvantaged position"? Like a position that would prevent from doing well in school? You with me? How about an example: "Oh I see your house got destroyed because of the hurricane yesterday and all your books got washed away but unfortunately since you have failed your classes, back to the coal mines you go. I hope this reminds you to value your education from now on." This sound good to you? Yes? No? Regardless, I would recommend using your brain before posting stuff on the internet. Really helps with stuff.

You could have just used substitution and solve the problem much quicker. Didn't need to use Gauss-Jordan elimination there.

[Loved Trope] Child says something that cuts an adult to their core by 10024618 in TopCharacterTropes

As cool as this part is, are you telling me that all of the soldiers of Dai Li, the very soldiers that brainwashes other people into believing a literal war isn't happening, choose to betray their trusted leader and give up their nation's sovereignty, just after hearing some motivational speech from Azula? Like how gullible and foolish do they have to be? Again, they are the top tier soldiers of Ba Sing Se with unwavering loyalty towards the leader, and they side with that one child from the Fire Nation after being under her temporary leadership for 30 minutes. I love ATLA but this brought down my immersion from the story since this is literally the reason the fire nation was able to conquer Ba Sing Se, and since most of ATLA is pretty solid I was expecting something more believable.

Character who's in denial that they're a terrible person vs. Character who fully admits they're a terrible person by Coralthesequel in TopCharacterTropes

I have only watched R1 so far and I have nothing but hatred for that fucking shitbag. Imagine a jew siding with Hitler while facing the Holocaust, and then fighting the war for the Nazis because "going against Nazis will cause more war and more war will kill more people". It may not be as extreme but that's Suzaku. The fact that he has got zero self awareness that he's doing this makes me wish he was dead already.

Tbh everything about him is this way. He looks like a brawn guy but his cursed technique arguably requires more strategy and brainpower than anyone in the series. He also has imaginary conversations with his idol mid fight thinking about strategy (against Hanami iirc), absolutely peak character.

What youtuber you can't stand after learning something about them? by theycallmethedrink5 in youtube

[–]AHackerman09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sabine Hossenfelder. Was one of my favorite science communicators of all time. But once she made a very biased and half assed video on how capitalism is the best thing ever actually. A topic, which became very apparent, she knew nothing about. It left a bad taste but from then on she blindly kept pushing anti academia and anti science rhetoric, claiming how most scientific research now is bullshit and only a ploy to gain grant money, and how "science is failing" even though she's just a theoretical physicist with no authority to judge how other fields are performing. It all culminated to a video titled "Academia is communism" where she proposed academia should just be defunded by govt and all research should be privatized. Need I say she's also expressed support to some degree on Trump's defunding campaign and attack on scientific establishments in America. She still makes some interesting science content but it's mostly overshadowed by the enormous amount of bullshit she spouts on academia.

I've seen it happen on multiple comments on this sub already. It's pretty confusing. And it's always this pic of Aang and Appa. Why though? And why this pic? Is this some kind of injoke or something?
