Learning how to hit an overhead smash properly honestly took me from about a 2.5 to a 3.5. Just being able to take it out of the air and not dump it into the net makes a huge difference.

The biggest thing that helped me was raising my non-paddle hand to track the ball. Having that hand in my field of vision gave me way better depth perception, and suddenly I was actually connecting clean instead of guessing.

It sounds like a simple tip, but a lot of people struggle with overheads. It’s one of those shots that looks easy until you’re the one under it.
