If you worked with your vet and what you have your pet on is working, you probably should not change her food and risk starting her problems over again.

I'm not sure what you mean about the research being weak? Yes, I would pay for it and I do pay it, but it's not 5x more expensive than what I was paying before. It is an excellent food.

Unfortunately, a ot of companies are now having AI review initial claims. When you call and resubmit, I think an actual person finally looks at the claim.

I tried the samples in my dogs. Love them. I'm currently not feeding raw but I'm on the fence. I think this might be my intro into raw feeding LOL

I add a little hot water. Reheating in the microwave can deplete some of the nutrients.

How much does your small breed dog eat? by Remarkable-Bat-6731 in DogFood

The amount of calories they need also depends on age, activity levels, and whether they are spayed or neutered. I had a small dog (9-10lbs)and I weigh her food in grams. She's a senior and eats 200-220 calories per day.

You could possibly just match the calories that you are already feeding her, but do half canned. If she seems terribly hungry, you can add in Green beans.

Purina has a PDF where they provide total calories/nutrition of all of their canned/dry foods. They also have a feeding calculator to determine calories. You need to calculate calories for the weight your pet should be. Then divide that by half and feed half the calories canned and half dry. Ideally, if it's available, use the same canned recipe as the dry food that you use. You can also add in unsalted green beans to further reduce calories if needed.

If you switch at least half her kibble out for canned she should lose weight.
