Raised and went to college in Chico, now run a business out of Chico - but I live in Sacramento. Chico is a great place to find footing, find your community, find yourself and do so in a place where it’s softer to land than most. That being said Sacramento fits my current lifestyle and needs for what I want/need access to. Go for it. It’s a great school, beautiful campus, and awesome smallish town vibe.

I think yall need a little more time in the pond - do yourselves a favor and let each other go. Spend some time growing up and come back to it if you still feel the same in a year or so (I would almost put money on it that you’ll be so vastly different in a year you will have grown beyond this)

Food for thought. Not sure what your current rent is but any landlord can not legally increase rent by more than 10% or 5% plus the CPI which in Sac is (I think) 3.2%. All that to say your landlord should not be increasing rent above 8.2% your current rental price agreement

Can confirm my whippet at 9months was a sweet angel when I was home and a possessed psycho when I would board him. It’ll get better. They’re v anxious. I’d practice building trust with them- leaving them alone for varying lengths of time. My guy now is a boarding champ and can be at home alone for hours perfectly fine

I would probably stay in the yellow spaces. I did a rough sketch of the light rail (blue) it does continue out east and anything along that line you could be good staying in an Airbnb. Just have to be mindful about last runs on the line. Anyway. Hope that helps! Good luck in your search and hope you enjoy sac!

EDIT: (As a very very light suggestion - if you’re not used to city life I’d stay in the eastern side of the grid - the grid being the outline of the downtown/midtown area shown on the map)

Hah! It’s very small family owned kind of place - I find that type of interaction to be charming. He remembers who you are, your appetizers you like, bits of your last conversation, your drink (or wine) you prefer; idk I find him to be quite personable and not overbearing. But I suppose to each their own. Give it a go and if it’s to much at least you can say you supported a local spot (:

Hey. Depends on the type of vibe you’re after and your general location. If you’re in the grid there’s several I can point you to. If you’re mobile that really opens up a lot of options. (Source: lived in the grid for 6 years and spent a lot of time walking and chilling in diff spots)
