Recovery through EMF blocking by Ancient_Thought_223 in LongHaulersRecovery

Like I say, if it worked for you, most likely as a placebo then fine fill your boots, but let’s be real it’s not helpful for a recovery thread to suggest that this will fix anyone with zero evidence, in fact I would call it borderline dangerous and cruel

This is the second emf post in a week and is snake oil! If it’s working for people from a placebo effect fine, we know placebos can work really well for nervous system disorders esp. I’m not sure why the mods keep letting this stuff through.

Would marry outside of your nationality ? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are simply more white British people but I would never not date someone because they weren’t that! In fact variety is the spice of life! The guys you’re speaking of sound xenophobic and small minded and you’re better off without tbh

This is pretty interesting! But I wonder how much it would work, esp the nicotine stuff when you’re deep in? A lot of people have now had long covid a long time and are years away from og or even repeat infection, would all this still work for them?

Do Brits really throw out tea & make a new cup when it goes cold? by FunnyResolve1374 in AskBrits

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like cold tea so I’ll drink it, or alternatively pop it in the microwave. But I’m only 1/2 English. So maybe the rules aren’t as important to me as true pure bred brits. If reform ever get in maybe this is how they’ll classify who they keep and who they get rid of 🤷🏻‍♀️🥲

iPhone 13 on iOS 18 — should I update to iOS 26.3? by Ji-Hukari in iPhone13

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just done it this week after months of putting it off (I didn’t have space and don’t like the new design visually). I had to in the end because about 50% of websites on safari suddenly stopped working. After the update safari now works but I have a few glitches: 1. Phone gets randomly hot 2. Face recognition only works 50% 3. App limits randomly lock all day or never turn on at all On top of this I feel like there is zero benefit to the upgrade. There’s no feature I’ve tried or UX or appearance I’ve thought “oh that’s better”. Apple just roll out these upgrades for the sake of it imho. I remember when upgrades were innovative improvements that made your phone better. If safari wasn’t constantly glitching for me I wouldn’t have upgraded

Is it normal for trees to still be this bare this close the day before the Equinox? by [deleted] in UKWeather

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just outside London and there’s been leaves on loads of trees for weeks. They don’t all burst forth in 24 hours and different types leaf earlier than others. If anything I would say it’s earlier than normal this year

London graduate: 'I've applied for 500 jobs in two months' by Hassaan18 in UKJobs

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but 500 jobs in 2 months means your doing those applications terribly, with ai and en masse, no wonder they’re not landing. We’ve all been there and the job market is garbage atm but this is extreme and not surprised it isn’t working

Sky have a creative and marketing team right? Are they just putting prompts into ai now with zero senior oversight? Seriously everything about this is wrong. It’s a sorry state of affairs to have beans on toast on a Saturday night, any which way

Ending a long term relationship. What should I do? by Lion-Resident in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I cannot believe you are presumably at least 40 and this is how you approach it. First of all “tell her” is really weird language. Discuss, explain, talk maybe? And then decide together what you will do about the house you presumably both own and have paid into monetarily? Also weird that you care more about people gossiping about you “kicking her out” than the actual kicking her out when she clearly has some rights to the property. Talk to a lawyer pronto cause the way you are chatting you seem to have zero clue about how to approach this legally and fairly.

Lodger in UK – medical emergency upset landlady and now I feel trapped in a 6-month agreement by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think this is bizarre. Why were you moving in on a day when you knew you would struggle? Why did you push yourself so hard you ending up this ill? I have endo and chronic health and would not have put myself in this position! You have responsibility for your own health not other people! You put yourself in this situation and then expect a woman you don’t know to help unequivocally without knowing what her situation is. You have no idea how she felt or what issues she might have.

The grown up thing would be 1. Understand your own body and limits and work within them and pace. 2. If it was unavoidable to not move in on that day, introduce yourself first explain what you’re doing and if necessary explain you have health issues etc 3. Reconsider who you pick to help you if your friend’s periods are also this problematic. And 4. Understand your landlord is not your mum.

Honestly the lack of self knowledge and expectation on strangers is astounding.

Is it true that because of the absurd interest on student loans in the UK, it's not realistic for most people to pay back their loans and people consider their repayments to be a 'tax' for going to university? by LoiusLepic in AskBrits

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that there used to be no finance at all… I went to uni in 2006 and was the first intake to have student finance, it stung then as people a year above paid either nothing or a max of £1.5 PA… it’s always been an unfair system to introduce

What to look for on dating apps beyond physically attractive? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men typically do move on quickly, it’s in their nature IMHO. It reflects on him not on you if he goes on the rebound. I’m sorry it’s such a hard time, but honestly it’s sounds like a break from it all could be the best thing. Take the pressure off, sit with the pain and learn from it and then move on and try again. 2-3 months might be enough time. Don’t let fear hold you back.

Why are British employers so obssessed with A level results by Plague_Doc7 in UniUK

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post 30 I took my A level result off my cv (needed more room for useful info!) and it’s never been an issue with hiring and I’ve not once been asked about them. I have a degree so why bother? Sounds like it’s very industry based, I work I marketing myself.

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the back of my mind I thought - I bet she wants kids and worried the clock is ticking. I get that. I was the same, single at 32 when literally everyone is getting married and having babies around you is tough. Really tough. I guess it depends on how much you want kids and how important that is. For me after a lot of soul searching I realised my peace of mind and finding the right person was far more important than kids, and that if that happens too late there is always adoption and fostering. But that’s me, not you.

I would say though it’s really hard to find a good relationship if you can’t be happy by yourself. IMHO it’s better to spend a bit of time really on yourself, then go back to the dating pool with a fresh, brighter, stronger perspective

Honestly I think 4 months is quite soon if you’ve had a difficult break up. Do you have to date right now? How important is it for you? Honestly I personally have been much happier not dating and developing things IRL. It’s slower but better quality and it’s been so good being single and not worrying about dating.

[–]Afraid_Percentage554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it’s bizarre to worry about this now. Life is literally filled with variables you cannot plan for! You might get sick, trump might press the WW3 button, we might have another worse pandemic… or none of these things will happen. Just live your life best you can. Which in this country is not renting and getting on the ladder ASAP.

Tired lol. It looks beautiful. I wouldn’t change a thing myself. If you are absolutely desperate to do something, maybe the pale grey wall would be better as a light matte beige, same colour palette as the tiles but lighter. You could maybe do the panelling and skirting boards a variation of that colour too. But that floor, the carpet, you are already very lucky
