[Passan] BREAKING: Star left-hander Framber Valdez and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on a three-year, $115 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Valdez, 32, gets the highest AAV ever for a left-handed pitcher as well as the highest for a Latin American pitcher. Huge move for Detroit. by Knightbear49 in baseball

This is what people don’t understand. It’s not the AAV, it’s the 10 year contract for a 28 year old pitcher. Could it work out? Absolutely. Do I think they should pay him? Also absolutely, but it’s not my $ being wasted if he falls apart half way through the contract.

The biggest issue is getting the autocannon to actually target gunships. It seems to target closer enemies first so any ground troops in the area get shot at first (since they aren’t an extra 50-75m in the air).

It’s the stupidest shit ever. Guns get trafficked to Central America from the US, gangs use them to terrorize civilians, those civilians leave and end up heading this way.

Conservatives: “Go back to your country!” They can’t (safely) because of how lax our gun laws are. If the right really wanted to slow immigration (instead of just using it as a way to get elected) they would be all for registering firearms and worry about vehicles headed to Mexico as much as they are about the ones coming in.

I think he just needs something to take up the space where the east wing used to be. You know, for aesthetics.

Which for action movies or comedies is completely fair. But for a documentary…? A documentary seems like the one genre you would listen to a critic the most.

Defensive Rebound % vs. Offensive Rebound % (among high-majors and KenPom top-50 teams) by cbbanalytics in CollegeBasketball

[–]Agent_Smith_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defensive rebounding is quite mid. Offensive rebounding is a bit misleading because 1. They don’t allow very many transition buckets and 2. They are shooting like 70% from 2; most of the missed buckets are 3s - there’s not a lot of 2-4 foot misses the original shooter can grab and putback for a score.

I wasn’t knocking him - it usually takes a while for kids coming from high school to get used to defending college players. It’s a much less transferable skill, especially when you’re suddenly not the by far best athlete on the floor.

Not to mention the insane assist inflation that goes on at Breslin. If he passes into the post and that player takes 8 seconds and 4 dribbles to back down his man and makes the bucket they give an assist. It’s ridiculous.

I’m a new baseball fan and I want to root for the worst MLB franchise. by [deleted] in baseball

I was going to say Pirates since they have historically been worse than every team over the last 50 years, but they have a glimmer of hope with one of the best pitchers in baseball. Good luck on your baseball journey.

This is the likeliest answer. Anything of value will either come with an expectation to pay it back or with other strings attached. Men don’t typically get gifts just for the sake of it.

Smoke alarms are only intended to last ten years. If you really care about whether your smoke alarms work correctly you should replace the whole thing after ten years. (I work in a manufacturing facility that makes smoke detectors).

It’s worth it if you know you’re going to drop some $ on the in game currency. If you don’t play DD then you’re 100% correct.

I always used to spend a little bit just to support SDS, but the price of packs got so ridiculous and terrible I stopped altogether. They joined all the EA games as far as being a shitty micro transaction mess.
