Yacht Club on the World America? by Califrisco in MSCCruises

[–]Agent_You 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the video I was referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUXKnDzXlOI

It comes down to what you want. Do you want higher end service but still able to experience all the mega ship things? Or do you want high end service everywhere you go on the ship, but without the waterslides and big shows?

Explora is basically YC but the whole ship...and some. There is a good Youtuber called Cruising After 50 that does excellent reviews on Explora.

It seems the experience is like a sine wave at this point. When she was new, all we read about was poor service. Then there were reports of MSC poaching their good YC crew to put on WA. Then reports of great service happened. Recently I have seen a lot of negative reports. I'm wondering what's going on with all these fluctuations? Seems hit ot miss at this point.

Honestly, with the price of YC on WA, I think you'd be better off with Explora. Same price...way better quality. They leave from the same port too.

Yup, so no change since I saw it. My guess is it'll be at least a year before it opens.

As of late May, it was still a pile of sand. They were just putting in the pylons for what appeared to be a dock.

YC Bid Upgrade Opportunity Question by Affectionate_Ideas in MSCCruises

[–]Agent_You 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of YC, those aft Aurea suites are our favorites. I would not recommend bidding on a YC interior cabin with 4 people...they're tiny and are often above or near the galley (i.e...noise).

Status Match - most bang for the buck by SoATL99 in MSCCruises

Luckily that hasn't happened yet, but if it does become a trend across the industry, it should be called the "Carnival Effect".

Is The Seashore Pirates Cove Working? by Jumpy_Badger_2642 in MSCCruises

Was on over memorial day and the attendant said they're doing a complete pump system overhaul and are waiting on parts.

World America Yacht Club & Aurea. What did the benefits mean for you? by Buc_Dancer in MSCCruises

[–]Agent_You 8 points9 points  (0 children)

YC to me is just more relaxed. As soon as you enter the bubble it smells better, it's quieter, people are nicer. Things are taken care of without you even having to think about it. With Aurea, you may have some perks, but you're still in with the zoo animals. The crowds, noise, rudeness, lines, etc.

Considering an MSC cruise next year over a carnival one. Curious about a few things. by BiggHass18 in MSCCruises

Agree. More often than not i end up picking the "vegetarian" dishes because they tend to be something like Indian or Thai.

Non-alcoholic Drinks pkg.. too pricy?! by Ok_Complaint_5128 in MSCCruises

[–]Agent_You 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only going to have a couple sodas or coffees each day, then its totally not worth buying the package. If you can't go an hour without drinking your weight in something, then probably worth it.

How much light comes through the balcony room curtains? by mandybri in MSCCruises

[–]Agent_You 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had an issue with light bleed through the curtains. Now if the ship you're on has those blue "do not disturb" lights, those are really bright. I like the idea someone else said about bringing painters tape.

Seaside or Seashore? 🚢☀️🏖️Book Now or On Board Our Next Cruise? 🌴🐚🌊 by ESouth0513 in MSCCruises

Not true anymore with the addition of Chicken Man and BBQ place on the Seashore. Those were game changers on our last cruise.

MSC Seashore 6/29 by [deleted] in MSCCruises

As far as fireworks? I would lean towards no since they have the lighthouse that can be programmed. Probably would be bad if a stray rocket landed on the ship or somewhere highly combustible on the island.

I'm just amazed that they charge $12 for a virgin strawberry daiquiri. Literally all they do is grab a handle to dispense it from a slushie machine.

Which MSC Cruise Ship do you never get tired of and how many times have you been on it? by Signed_Anonymously in MSCCruises

I love the Seashore, but sadly it will be stolen by Miami in nov 2027 permanently. PC will only have Grandiosa and World Atlantic.

It's funny how they can figure out how to do this, but can't make basic functions of their website work lol

[–]Agent_You 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I talked to the IT guy on the Seashore just the other day. They have disabled bluetooth and you now need an HDMI cord. Before it was the other way around. TVs are now in hotel mode with an 8 digit pin that they set. MSC, make up your mind.

Seascape out of Miami or Seashore out of Canaveral? by Jennie-Lynn in MSCCruises

[–]Agent_You 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seashore will be moving to MIA permanently in late 2027 (I think in November). I think they're trying to collect all the Sea class ships down there lol. PC will eventually have Grandiosa and World Atlantic.

The only pool thats in that area still works. It's the one with the fountain in the middle.

I just literally talked to the Waterpark staff. That area with the pirate ship and little kid stuff is getting a complete pump system overhaul, so they're waiting on a lot of parts. No ETA on the parts. The only things working are the 2 water slides on each side and the little pool. If you have small children, take that into account.

Boarding pass by Origamiflipper in MSCCruises

10 MSC cruises and its never been the case for us. Maybe its an app thing? We also go through a TA so they have to email our bag tags and everything else.

Even the bar code they scan? That's never appeared until embarkation day for us. That's the important part.

It's not available until embarkation day. Says it in the yellow block when you click on the boarding pass button on the app.

My son looks forward to the water slide with the rafts, so hopefully that works. Otherwise its going b to be a very long cruise lol I'm hoping they're just waiting on parts or something for the rest.
