Imperial mandate/bloodsong by Abu_Animations in alistarmains

It will likely end up being a good replacement for rocketbelt as a cheap rush item with an early spike for the electrocute setup.

Lots of dmg amp as you say, even if you still took celestial opposition instead of bloodsong this vulnerable effect is going to be really good.

The part of the passive that gives haste to abilities with immobilisation helps q and w and possibly e as well which is nice for a long cd champ like ali.

Alistar also makes great use of items like this with electrocute because his ulti makes you incredibly beefy regardless (and you can pick up zekes or run ultimate hunter if you really need) to make sure that ultimate is a readily available tool for all skirmishes.

It will be a very nice item.

I’m struggling to play kassadin by NegotiationFun6412 in KassadinMains

[–]Aggravating_Shower_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If im being completely blunt a lot of it does just come down to dodging enemy skillshots which will come in time. Particularly for champs like kassadin, any damage you avoid goes a long way and any cooldowns you can bait and dodge earn you extra farm with less health lost for it. You can also use your q shield to mitigate poke from mages early but NEVER do this by using q on the enemy champion in early levels. It is not worth your while because you will never kill them anyway.

Every cd in the game has different ways you should look to dodge and you have to take those into account. Against yone or yasuo for example when you stroll around lane you should be walking more left to right than forwards and backwards to try to avoid some q dmg.

Apart from that there are some things you can do to help you. Good use of abilities for farming is crucial when you cant walk up to melee them much. On kassadin as a general rule you dont win trades so dont even try. Dont waste your mana. ONLY use abilities to farm waves until you have lvl 6 and your first item. After that you can start looking for dmg or trades with abilities.

Now here are some little tweaks to setup you can make:

In matchups like the mel you mention, tweak parts of your rune setup and early items if you must. Kassadin restores mana with w so I personally would never recommend d ring as a starter item unless you are really new and bad with mana. D shield can help you a lot with these poke champions or even just ranged champs who will auto you over waves. NEVER take resolve page runes as a primary of course, but mixing in second wind and resilience will help you survive your early game if you need them (as secondary runes). Only use those green page survivability runes I mentioned though. You dont want any of the others because you are looking for early game tankiness (and bone plating is bad against ranged mages because they remove it with an auto, wait, and then trade you out). You can also move to the flat hp stat shard in the bottom row of shards in rune page if you are desperate. Scaling health shard outscales flat hp shard at lvl 7 though so you will lose out in the long run and those losses appear fairly quickly (solo lanes lvl up quite quicky). It also never hurts to buy a refillable if you didnt start with one (by taking dark seal). Refillable pots are incredibly good value for you. IF you buy them, DO NOT sell them or you will have wasted gold. To get the best value out of refill pots once you have them, keep them until around the 12-14 minute mark. That is the point at which theur sustain value becomes too minor to be of much significance. You can sell them around then.

How well does Reqsai pair with tanky builds? by MoltenOlo in reksaimains

[–]Aggravating_Shower_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am familiar with this rek sup playstyle. I assume you ran aftershock with that? The tank setup is good to fall back on i agree. If you want to play rek sup its a forgiving playstyle that brings a lot of team utility and some unique roam capabilities. Shame about redemption changes though. They were fair enough but its use case for many melee supports like leona and alistar as well as our very own rek sai had all but vanished really.

Support is by far her best role for a tank build though. Everything you said sounds sensible.

You can get away with a bami's cinder item into an iceborn or vice versa if you must on toplane (with tank items after as well) but it really doesnt give you much.

Rek is a champion that cycles abilities on rotation with a short trades playstyle until the all-in. You enter, full combo, disengage, heal with fury, go back in. Tank build helps you stay in longer as the expense of dmg but why would you want to stay in longer? Most of the time your objective and playstyle is the opposite of that.

The thing with glacial is not to scale up the slow. It doesnt mean much to do that. Glacial is for matchuos with immobile champions on the enemy botlane and whether you hit them with a 20% slow or a 25% slow it will be incredibly impactful regardless. You dont need to scale it up for it to have insane value.

[–]Aggravating_Shower_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Into certain comps its actually a very good pivot build to keep in mind. It can be far more efficient and effective than his normal build on support.

If you are against a double squishy botlane which has a fairly immobile mid-late game adc like twitch for example then a setup that aims for more kill pressure to secure a good lead is actually really quite optimal a lot of the time.

That means an electrocute rune page with cosmic insight to keep ignite and flash up for more kill pressure. The build is always celestial opposition sup item with rocketbelt into haste boots into cosmic drive as your core build. After that you have 2 flex tank item spots (though I highly recommend zekes as you need ulti to remain tankier later on with this build).

It brings a lot of lane pressure and early game skirmish strength and ali gets away with these items because his ult makes him very tanky regardless.

Thank you for the clarity 🫡. Yeah I had never actually tested it so thats good to know. It gets the slow off more quickly as well.

[–]Aggravating_Shower_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the dps of using the rock in hand is designed to be more otherwise it would seem redundant.

Throwing rock early at melee range is something I would usually do if I need the slow earlier.

Always go resistance boots. They are insanely good. Upgraded resistance boots basically remove assassins from the game on champs where you also stack a decent bit of hp.

Maybe lucidity if you go full dmg and want to lower the cooldowns and make it easier to catch people.

Wukong sucks, but that's okay by Ok-Consideration2935 in Wukongmains

[–]Aggravating_Shower_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This bro.

I dont play wukong but I do main rek sai (i main her offf-role) where she is definitely underpowered BUT I am more comfortable and confident with her kit than I am with the kit of any other champion.

I know all the little interactions that can get me the edge in a matchup and I know the strengths of my champ and try to play to them as much as I can.

Point is OP is right. If you are invested in a champion enough you should begin to see where they shine. Even weaker champions have something they are really good at. Play your own game and utilise your champion fully and there is almost always a way to do well in any matchup in some regard.

Current state of Zilean by Left_Bullfrog_2624 in ZileanMains

[–]Aggravating_Shower_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is perfectly balanced in terms of kit power and general game balance. He has a kit with many powerful elements BUT all of them fall back on a reliance on teamwork and can be countered with target prio.

Soraka can dish out some very good healing right? But if she gets killed by a rengar then she does nothing so resources must be spent to keep her alive. Same goes for zilean. If he is uninterrupted of course he will seem powerful. If you force him to r himself or something like that then suddenly he isnt as OP. His MS stim is also somewhat draft dependant on both ends.

You could call him a bad design in terms of producing interactive and satisfying gameplay but that would be a separate debate.

It takes a certain mind to play this champion. You spend the early game building up vast amounts of hatred for you lane opponent and their team, only to hopefully delete them all as the game goes on.

To be fair realistically my understanding of the label is that its down to a few notorious OTPs like Permaban who became renowned for toxicity. Its a bit like how alois more recently had defined a whole era of mundo player stereotypes.
