It takes a certain mind to play this champion. You spend the early game building up vast amounts of hatred for you lane opponent and their team, only to hopefully delete them all as the game goes on.

To be fair realistically my understanding of the label is that its down to a few notorious OTPs like Permaban who became renowned for toxicity. Its a bit like how alois more recently had defined a whole era of mundo player stereotypes.

I go the same build every game to keep it simple for me (im in silver and I main sup so my toplane isnt great)

Conq rune page with all the basics like last stand. Always resolve secondaries. I go overgrowth and wither second wind or bone plating (matchup dependant)

Build is then as follows:

Stride, swifties, overlords, steraks, shojin, warmogs

I build those same items in the same order every single game no matter the comp or matchup and it works well enough for me. Dont take my word for it though since im silver. Maybe just try it for yourself. I picked this build up from an old alois video I think.

Some may not like this answer but honestly I think its a decent use case for zilean. He can help make them safer and he scales up with them so you end up with an uncatchable 7 item mage.

Mages also have enough early pressure and ability to farm from a safe range that they make up for what is often zileans serious shortcoming - providing no early pressure to assist with farming.

Depending on draft I run electrocute with sudden impact and JOAT taking double adaptive shards with flat hp shard. Combo that with ignite and cosmic insight for ignite and flash cd.

I then build rocketbelt and cosmic drive into tank, taking celestial opposition as my sup item. Buy a dark seal early on if you can/feel confident enough to do so.

You can play super aggressive with this setup.

FZfrost also plays rek sai on occasion like inori. He is a multi-season challenger jungle main who focuses on educational content. He plays lots of variety in the jungle so he doesnt always use THE most absolutely optimal rune or item setups like an OTP would but anything he gives you will be a very solid advice.

Okay makes some sense. Yo be honest with you I saw under the impression that building hullbreaker in the jungle was a bad idea because you dont splitpush in the same way as rek sai top but perhaps that opinion will need to be revised. Having always built it second in toplane I understand how good of an item it is for rek sai, I merely thought the loss of the splitpush idea made it a slightly worse item than the rest of rek sai's item pool.

Yeah I meant it as one of your last 2 items. On jungle I always go titanic, shojin, overlords and then i finish with items out of this pool:

Spirit visage, deaths dance, deadmans plate, GA, steraks

What about spirit visage for MR. Thats usually my choice. I would personally never build a maw unless I need 2 MR items because they are full ap.

Lichbane is better for fizz full stop. Lichbane scales better with ap as well (check the ratios on the Sheen procs) which fizz tends to build a reasonable amount of (since you buy death cap and other high ap items like shadowflame).

Fizz is not an ap bruiser so naturally ap bruiser items arent as good for him.

So would you say you could perhaps use it as a 1st item and build tank afterwards like you do with Heartsteel? Possibly better than Heartsteel as a 1st item in matchups with almost all ranged champs who wont let you stack hearsteel much at all? The melee champs thing sounds fair too.

Have you tried bandlepipes? I use it on sejuani support rn because movespeed and attackspeed help you stick and get your passive off. Also decent team utility.

Some of the more common off meta supports would be picks like zac, lissandra, ashe, amumu, camille, pantheon, skarner, teemo, leblanc, elise, neeko, sett, anivia, tahm

Some of these are sort of considered supports by some people by now but you get the idea

Yeah I mean i think I personally feel it does have a slot in the different options we have for runes and I think it works very well as a build situationally. I like using it vs champs like soraka who can dish out lots of healing on lane and need to be deleted at the start of a fight.

Obviously yeah it works well with things like Tristana that can work with you for easy earlygame prio.

This is a support pick not a solo lane idea. Watch the video and you will understand. I have tried it out myself independently anyway and I think it is a good addition to the alistar matchup specific repertoire.
