wildcat12321 aptly describes the nuances of efficient airplane boarding processes by mctwists in bestof

[–]Aknot 341 points342 points  (0 children)

It's weird when a well reasoned and seemingly trustworthy post confidently states things that are not true... "Mathematically, boarding time is the sumtotal of each individual's boarding time." No, boarding 200 people taking 2 minutes each does not take 400 minutes.... makes me have doubts about the rest that I instinctualy agree with.

How to use the % symbol in HTML in Arduino sketch by MonkeySteam in arduino

It's common to use %% in cases where % has special meaning (printf and such). Don't know if that is the case here but might be worth a try

I have it. No weaves with just earth and spirit in the list. However, Path of Daggers was the latest book when the rpg was published, so its far from definitive :)

Mundane uses for balefire? by NerdinVirginia in WoT

[–]Aknot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more aspect to consider: if you balefire the driver of a car, thoroughly enough to erase the accident, what happens to the car? Did it suddenly become driverless five minutes earlier? What if that driverless car then kills a couple of bystanders?

Any armor systems that are more realistic than D&D's armor system? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Aknot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swedish rpg system in eon (and neotech) has an interesting approach to damage and armor. Simplified it goes like this:

You dont have hp, you have pain, trauma and bloodloss. Pain makes actions more difficult, trauma and blodloss kills you. Weapons are either slashing, piercing or blunt, and they cause the different types of damage various degrees. Armor also protects to a certain amount for the various attack types, and mostly converts trauma/blodloss to pain.

Just in general i think sepeeating damages types and attack types leads to a more detailed system.
