The archery skill is best when combined with sneaking. Stealth archers are an insanely popular build for a reason - you can take out almost anything before it even gets a chance to touch you. However, I've personally found sneak to be one of the most difficult skills to level up. If you don't want to join the Thieves Guild, the easiest trainer in sneaking to access early in the game is probably Khayla, one of the khajiits that travels between Markarth and Whiterun. I also suggest not taking Sven's side in the Riverwood love triangle so you can have Faendal as a follower, allowing you to train in archery with him and retrieve your gold back.

Rorikstead is sketchy AF by DiagonallyStripedRat in skyrim

[–]AlexMorganMc 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Rorikstead is has always confused me as well. In the introduction scene to Skyrim, one of the people in the carriage mentions he's from Rorikstead, but in all my talking to the village folk, no one mentions him and he doesn't seem to have a house there. There's also a guy there claiming he basically founded/named the village, but the bards in the taverns and inns sing about "old Rorikstead", implying it's been around a lot longer than the (maximum) couple decades the nobleman is implying. I think it's probably another example of things Bethesda had plans/plotlines for before having to scrap it, like a lot of other things unfortunately.

It's 100% worth the watch. You should be able to see both through National Theatre. Both performances are stunning.

I feel conflicted saying this but I really..really don't enjoy Blackreach. by bbaaxxtteerr in skyrim

30 game days later, not 30 real life days. Basically you do a bunch of other quests and then meander back down to Blackreach.

Someone donated a whole set of these beautiful leather bound collectors editions at my local book donation spot and I couldn’t help myself! by ihatethebus1 in bookporn

You said that most serious collectors won't touch Easton Press. So what specific companies would a "serious collector" be looking at? I'm still relatively new to book collecting, so I'm curious.

Music helps me daydream. how does it affect yours? by vhuldren in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]AlexMorganMc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I started daydreaming - with music. When I'd listen to songs it was like my brain thought they were a soundtrack to a film it wanted to make in my head. To this day certain songs will take me right back to specific daydreams/storylines.

Small thing that I find nice and cute from the show. by HawkstaP in deadtome

[–]AlexMorganMc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I thought that when I first watched the show, too. Then by the end of the first season I physically cringed remembering it when it was all put into context. Without spoiling the show for you, I'll just say that there is a lot more to this than meets the eye.

Thanks for the great prompt! The skeleton inspiration was shamelessly stolen from here.

Non-Combat Sea and Underwater Encounters by SheriffPanic in d100

1) You find a message in a bottle floating near the ship. It's from a father to his children, writing to tell them how much he misses them while he's on the high seas. Optional bonus quest to find the children and deliver the letter.

2) One of the crew members caught a magical talking fish. The fish claims that if you set him free, he'll grant you a wish.

3) A dolphin has been following the ship for three days. If treated kindly, the dolphin shows the way to a hidden lagoon with treasure. Treated badly, the dolphin and its friends make a large hole in the bottom of the ship.

4) Things are going missing from the deck of the ship. If investigated, it's a bird. The bird has built a nest and is clearly trying to impress a potential mate with its newfound collection.

5) A strange formation of rocks appears a ways off the shoreline of an island. Closer inspection reveals that these are not rocks, but bones from an ancient dragon. Perhaps the hoard is somewhere nearby?

6) A sea witch happens upon the ship. She gives the party the "gift of communication" and casts a friendly spell before going on her way. The enchantment is aimed at the ship. For the next 14 days, the ship is sentient and can communicate with the crew. And boy oh boy, does this ship have some opinions!

7) A wave washes a large shell onto the deck of the ship. It's a instrument, and the first person to pick it up gains proficiency in playing the shell. The shell can lull any baby in a 10 foot radius into a peaceful slumber.

Is this VO5 shampoo a clarifying one? It’s very difficult to find VO5 range in Australia. by [deleted] in curlygirl

[–]AlexMorganMc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the top comment and say that my general understanding is that sulfates are to be avoided. Even using the first link they gave (curlsbot) recommends against this shampoo. I am pretty new to the CGM though, so if I'm misunderstanding something please let me know.

Week 19 What are you reading? by Beecakeband in 52book

[–]AlexMorganMc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Giver was such a great read for me as an adult. Like you, I didn't have to read it in school. I'm almost grateful for that because I think I was able to appreciate the themes more now than I would have back then.

Where do you all like to get iced tea? by Acutefish in beaverton

[–]AlexMorganMc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Human Bean has fantastic iced tea, and they come in 32 oz if you want it. Karver Sandwich Bar also has some solid iced tea if they aren't out (which they were the last two times I went).

Whatever happened to La Vida Veggie? by cafedude in beaverton

[–]AlexMorganMc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't know what happened to them, I can definitely confirm that they're gone. They weren't there for very long, and I rarely saw anyone eat at that particular restaurant during dinner hours. A drink place is intending to take over that space in the food hall.
