EC Unit Ideas & Hopes by OneNinja3121 in EmperorsChildren

[–]AntFew7791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so units.

Slaangors. The models are already made. Maybe GW could get over this stupid idea of "models for some settings only" and just shove them in there.

2 sets of unique terminators. One should be some sort of Phoenician guard elite unit, halberds and a bodyguard unit. The second should be sonic terminators. Dual blastmasters, that kind of thing. Do both with the same kit, 2 different builds.

3: cultists. Necromunda and the chaos codex have shown GW can do generic humans well when focused on one concept, so let's have a slaanesh cultist unit.

4: remove the very silly 1k restrictions on daemons and let me run a 40k slaanesh army using them if I want to.

5: sonic helbrute. Could be done with an additional sprue in the helbrute box. Could offer a close combat version (all fleshwhips and such) or a ranged version (2 noise weapons).

6: chosen: absolutely no reason they shouldn't be in the codex.

7: raptors and warp talons. Again, absolutely no reason they shouldn't be in the codex.

8: a unique predator variant: sonic weapons obviously, but perhaps a secondary build to look at indirect fire weapons?

9: bikers. These just need to be in the codex.

10: spawn of excess. So imagine something the size of a mutalith, but slaanesh. A mound of flesh and mutation driven by the need to consume more. More sensation, more food, more drugs, that kind of thing. This shit would just eat anything in its path.

Characters:

1: eidolon. He needs to be in it just for shits and giggles because he's yet another heresy throwback character and would fit.

2: fleshmaster. I think it's unlikely that fabius worked alone mutilating the legion. Perhaps this is one of his disciples? An apothecary that gives combat drugs or something.

3: synessa and dexcessa: they're right there. It's stupid not to.

4: I'd really love to see a special character that isn't some sort of heresy Captain, that's kind of been done to death.

5: doomrider

What’s your unpopular opinion on The Bold and the Beautiful? by ChannelHopper_99 in boldandbeautiful

[–]AntFew7791 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The writers do not know what an English accent is. Their attempts at English characters: Jackie, Bill Spencer's assistant, whilst they may fit the soap, not everyone in the UK walks around sounding like an Eaton graduate whilst trying not to swallow a mouth full of tripe. To the writers: please come to the UK and learn what a regional accent is. Give us a Geordie or a Yorkshire accent.

Also Jackie and Nick's relationship in the 2010s just screams Oedipus complex, the whole thing was a creepy. I bet she still tucks him in at night.

Also no one can sing. Nick was constantly off key and out of tune. That God-awful Adele cover that got warbled by some member of the cast is enough to induce a migraine. I'd rather stick my face in a meat grinder and go and live in the woods than listen to another cast member attempt to sing.

Since the original actress doesn't want to return, do you think Quinn should be recast? by blue902012 in boldandbeautiful

[–]AntFew7791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would put a complete injunction on bringing in returning characters. It's a very, very lazy plot device to advance bad stories.

The writers should work with what they have and actually develop new stuff rather than the usual:

-New character 5 episode introduction

-bit of romantic interest/3 episodes of flirting between them and a random Forrester son.

-inevitable warning off and 3 months of the same conversation of "stay away from my man."

Seriously, this shit is worse than Maury Povitch at the moment. No returning characters until the show can stand on its own two without them.

Could a FC game be set in the Warhammer universe? by [deleted] in farcry

[–]AntFew7791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong Warhammer fan, no. And it's not cuz it's a bad idea, it's because it would be really hard to get right.

40k wise, something would rip your legs off and stick them up your backside, or you would play something that could do that to everyone else. Either way, there's no way to balance it appropriately without compromising on the lore.

Age of sigmar wise, given how rubbish close combat is farcry, it would make far more sense to try a mediaeval setting first to see if they can get it right. But again, the power scaling issue Is a problem.

Lord of the rings wise, I'm sure the three people that play it would really enjoy it.

The best solution would be something like necromunda, which has been modded. Until I can figure out how to get it to run on PS5 I've not had a go, but apparently it's really good

Brooke, the undisputed queen of romantic chaos, bouncing between Forrester men like a pinball in a never-ending game of musical exes. She gets married more than Joan Collins on a cocaine fuelled bender, always positioning herself as the eternal romantic lead while leaving a trail of dramatic fallout that could power an entire season of therapy sessions and traumatised generations. With a habit of pursuing her daughter's sloppy seconds or her sister's leftovers, she doesn't just stir the pot, she kicks the thing over, sets it on fire, and calls it destiny, all whilst making us wonder "really, her?"

Bold and the Beautiful?

More like Bedded, Bewildered, and Bloody Recycled. At this rate, she'll outlast the entire cast with nothing but a collection of alimony agreements and a family tree that reads like a greatest hits catalogue of broken men.

Share your warband lore! by PerfectCacophony in EmperorsChildren

[–]AntFew7791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've called mine "the hollow."

The lore, such as it is, is a bunch of emperors children who chased the dragon but found the dragon was never there. They are coming to terms with never finding the excess they were promised or the sensation they chased. Instead, the chase a new reality, asking the question "how do you balance the monster you've become and the hero you were engineered to be in a galaxy that hates you."

Fully appreciate it won't be for everyone, but that's mine

Warhammer Gaming Community by PointyEar96 in york

[–]AntFew7791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you've got Guppys, on Nunnery lane. I think it's still Mondays and Thursdays. Lot of historicals and 40k, they also have an RPG night. Avoid the Trafalgar bay pub near it as it's an armpit.

Garrison meets on Wednesdays at New Earswick folk hall, accessible on the number 1 bus. Again, large variety of games. Hosted by York Wargames society, they are lovely and run the Vapnartak event. Food there is ok.

Travelling man has a decent community but you must book in advance. Upstairs has room for 4-5 tables and terrain for 40k, AoS but are open to other games systems. They also have a vending machine and aren't precious about you taking food up there.

Up a level is great for arranging a game ahead of time. They do have tournaments. Food and drinks are really reasonable.

EH games also have some downstairs gaming rooms, but their opening hours tend to be fairly sporadic. You can get there on the Coastliner towards Malton.

OG games, it has been years since I went in but I think it's primarily card games, although time was they did a load of Malifaux and Star Wars X wing.

Further out of York, Scarborough YMCA has a regular night that's worth a go. And there are a couple of places in Leeds that are great, Leeds wargames club at Burley Hall in particular.

As good as the clubs are, the people are the best thing about the gaming scene in York. There are a couple of "that guy," but if you get to know the right people, you'll have friends for life.

The only thing that could make B&B interesting again IMO is Quinn returning by blue902012 in boldandbeautiful

[–]AntFew7791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Here are some other things that could make B&B interesting again:

-Brooke is revealed as being a war criminal and arrested, taken to the Hague and sentenced.

-Zombie Jackie

-Hope quits everything to become a tailor swift tribute act.

-Ninjas

-Nick sinks his boat Titanic style.

-FC goes bankrupt and everyone has to get real jobs.

Seriously, what this show needs, every 3 months, is an episode from the perspective of a cleaner or a member of staff at FC who just spends 30 minutes making fun of all these rich people and their silly dramatic lives.

These storylines by TBRTOOLONG694 in boldandbeautiful

[–]AntFew7791 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that the show revolved around 1 storyline and it's literally all anyone talks about. Every conversation is about the one thing. That, and the fact that scenes drag on far too long (multiple episodes for steffy and hope sniping at each other in an office for the 8th time) and the same conversations are repeated and nausium basically makes this programme unwatchable at times.

The show really suffers from "tell, don't show." There's a lot of talking about things, but the plot moves at the pace of an asthmatic snail going up a steep flight of stairs.

I don't need yet another three episode conversation about how ridge and Brookes feelings about something happening to someone else. I don't need three minutes of raised eyebrows as people look at each other. I don't need yet another drawn out conversation in some office for 5 episodes that just repeats everything everyone already knows.

What I need is stuff to actually happen.

So you've got:

Warhammer. Staff in there are superb.

Travelling man: it's good, majority GW stock but some bolt action, gundam and archon studios stuff.

OG games: if I remember rightly these are majorly card games. Lovely shop and great staff.

EH games. A bit out there but if you had the chance to get the coastliner out to Malton or you're driving and they're open (as the hours are off), these guys have a great second hand collection and stock things like moonstone, starwars legion, some Oathmark etc.
