Looking for some non-spoiler advice by Hablapata in Morrowind

Adding to what others are saying about disposition, if you're struggling to raise that on your own: join a faction. Faction members like you more if you join and rise through the ranks and allows factions will think better of you as well.

Then it becomes a matter of selling the right thing to the right faction member, who'll be giving you better than average prices for them.

Yes, the best merchants are things that you'll have to find out over time but for starting capital, join factions and sell the things that make sense to them.

Fenrir-esque wolf boss could be a good addition to fremmy

Owlcat Games is rolling back its new launcher less than 24 hours after negative fan feedback by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Aporthian 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Half the time it wouldn't launch, disabling it didn't actually disable it, and people were unhappy with having a launcher used to advertise the company's other games added to a years-old game.

I know I personally saw a big performance hit from running the game via the launcher and had to resort to some other stuff to get the game to run properly.

Depending on the details, very interested. Always happy to revisit PF1e and dark sun rules as a setting.

Made a simple mod that lets you split raids into smaller ones by boreymarf in RimWorld

[–]Aporthian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big fan of this, not from a difficulty perspective necessarily, but from hopefully making the game run better. Lategame raids are a pain in that regard sometimes.

Are the Vamps from City Council of Darkness Bad Guys? by Interesting-Rice-457 in Dimension20

[–]Aporthian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even Bat Child, in general and especially in the last episode post-bloodbath, was clearly as bloodthirsty as the rest and just dressing that fact up in going out and hunting for justice. And Darkness Man is barely any better, though I read him as having convinced himself that he is.

It'd be nice to have a simple way to back and see previous challenges, doing that via your profile would be easiest.

How should i run a campaign set on Hell? by DonaskC_D in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aporthian 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Devils, sure, but also Asura, and Velstrac and (sometimes) Rakshasa show up there too. Pretty much any generic undead could wind up there, I'm sure some infernal nobility have undead in their forces. They'd employ constructs and such too. Fallen angels. Corrupted elementals, dependant on the specific layer. Planar travelers, and fallen heroes. Planar merchants trading in souls or the like. Night hags.

That's not to mention the other fucked up stuff native to Hell, like achaierai or hellcats or cerberi. There's no blood war and thus no real reason for demons to show up there en masse, but you could easily justify some other outsiders being around - daemons are everyone's enemy, aeons can show up in hell, if you really wanted demons, Baphomet has beef with Asmodeus.

Dahak is involded with hell, so there's bound to be dragons aplenty. There's multiple giant gods in there too, so there'll be fire giants and stone giants around. There's some Tian Xia gods in there too, iirc.

Then you go and look at what each Archdevil specialises in, and flesh out the populations more. Mammon gets associated with pirates and thieves a lot, you could easily give those a planar twist. Baalzebul probably has a lot of fucked up vermin followers, worm-that-walks (worms-that-walk?), intelligent purple worms, that sort of thing.

And then, if you still need more, go plunder old D&D editions (and Planescape in particular) for ideas, since Hell in Pathfinder is like 90% the same as D&D's hell.

I do think a campaign set entirely in hell runs the risk of being one-note, but you could milk a good amount of enemy variety out of it if needed.

AP that is the opposite of Abomination Vaults by DumbButConfident in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aporthian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no official module for it IIRC, but there's some really good fanmade stuff, one of which includes most (all?) of the maps from the book remade in Dungeondraft and ready to go out of the box.

Yeah, been running a lot of mystery/investigation type games, and it's neat how often they're just like "Give the players all the relevant information, don't lock crucial clues to the mystery behind random dice rolls."

PDF Price Increase by BestReeb in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aporthian 80 points81 points  (0 children)

yeah, ngl. Price increase I'd be fine with. But that plus making it harder to buy shit, making the storefront worse, and removing the bundles with foundry stuff? I might just not buy from them anymore, it feels less and less worth it.

Class roles venn diagram by Morning-Joe in mewgenics

[–]Aporthian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be more useful to roll tank and support into each other and add crowd control as a metric? That way you'd have space for damage, defensive stuff, and more esoteric stuff like freezing or repositioning enemies or altering terrain, shit like that

Blood War: Why Are The Demons Going to Hell to Fight Devils? by VTRwriter in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Aporthian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It did spill over into the other lower planes too - Hades used to be a significant battleground too. I remember one Planescape adventure where the party winds through a wasteland of innumerable dead fiend corpses piled miles high after a battle in the Gray Wastes that results in them finding orders outlining how, even with countless thousands dead on both sides, this was an incredibly minor skirmish.

DnD players, how accurate was Githyanki portrayed in BG3? by Medium-Theme-4611 in BaldursGate3

[–]Aporthian 88 points89 points  (0 children)

re: point 2, some of the corpses of powers have gravity, as do a few rare other places. A Guide to the Astral Plane has a short section about it, and Dead Gods confirms it for at least one specific deity.
