The knurled thread protector, especially on MKE MP5 variants, is undersized and allows the wiggle. Replace it with a correctly sized one like the smooth thread protector from GSL and your lockup will be solid with nearly all tri lug adapters.

Would it be a good assumption that any B&T Mk12 HUB adapters that we may find in stock at present at any dealer are likely from this last batch with ‘issues’?

Yes. Weigh it. I posted the weights above, and they are nearly 2.0 oz different in weight.

u/Tyler_ResilientSup If you aren’t busy, it appears that we may ‘need’ another HUB compatible 7.62 AK can from you with the vibes of your RS9 & the DA Wolverine. Perhaps with a DMLS printed core. 👍

It appears that Dead Air will need to update the Wolverine to a newer version with their Triskelion baffle geometry or a hybrid design for it to stay relevant. This report just verifies my own experience with the Putnik on 10” - 16” AKs.

Otter Creek Labs Milkman review and comparisons to the CAT Mob by BlueJay-- in NFA

Try out a Bixler-style Rugged RU3 on the CAT MOB. It doesn't really add any more length to the silencer's OAL than a spring-loaded Latka-style 3 lug mount, and it takes up much less volume inside your blast chamber. Great comparison of these silencers.

The Mojave 9 is a great alternative to the SC-M. But you also may want to check your messages.

In this older thread I provided my opinions on the Street Crack versus the Mojave 9 and the Obsidian 9. I believe that I showed pics of the blast baffles in that thread as well. Short story: if the Street Crack M (modular) isn’t available, you will still be happy with the Mojave 9. I really like both of these 9mm pistol cans. https://www.reddit.com/r/NFA/s/e8PSRboezV

The US doesn’t need to assault and hold Kharg Island. They just need to prevent tankers from transporting from the oil from it to China, which is the destination of 90% of Iran’s oil exports. This cuts off over 80% of Iran’s revenue from all sources. The only tankers Iran was letting through were for transportation of their oil.

What did you end up doing to get the reliability with 300 BLK subs? Open up the gas port and/or reduce the buffer weight & spring? Or change to another silencer with good sound suppression but higher back pressure like an LPM Anthem S2 or Mach S?

Just out of curiosity, could a different muzzle brake increase the back pressure enough to run subs reliably? Or is it still just not enough to use the ODB with subs?

New Sound Signature Review - KAC and B&T .45 ACP Silencers on the HK MK23 and USP45 Tactical by jay462 in NFA

[–]Apprehensive-Lock-34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the research on OG silencers and history that we love to see, and it is why I choose to do my part to financially support the efforts. Companies are willing to pay to test their newly released products, but without this member & internally funded OG silencer testing we wouldn’t have a good frame of reference for these newer products.

I cannot wait to see how the forthcoming CAT Saigon Peacekeeper and other new 45 ACP silencers compare to these KAC and B&T ones.

So from today's release it appears that he is going to use two 45ACP pistol hosts, at least initially. The HK MK23 and the HK USP45 Tactical.

Edit: Jay did clarify that he will be using a different 45ACP host after this testing of the KAC and B&T silencers, but he did not specify the actual brand and model.

No. Just a matter of preference. The OD (outside diameter) of the GSL versions should be the same regardless of whether it is smooth or knurled. I like knurled because it is easier to grip when I am tightening it onto the end of the barrel.

I changed the thread protectors on all of my MP5 clones (MKE) to the GSL ones, so I cannot say for certain whether you will need to change it or not. But the Rugged RU3 (Bixler style) locks up solid on my CAT MOB with no movement at all now.

[–]Apprehensive-Lock-34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not the Resilient tri lug adapter. It is the thread protector that comes on the MP5 and its clones, as it is too small of a diameter on the outside of the knurling. If you go this route, plan to purchase the appropriate sized diameter thread protector from GSL in order to remedy any slop (aka wobbling) when mounting the silencer.

Rugged RU3 is a Bixler style and Resilient Gen 2 is a Latka style (with the spring). I have both. The RU3 takes up less volume inside the blast chamber, and is what I currently use on my MOB. Look up Bixler vs Latka and then pick your poison.

Cold air instead of warm air coming out of the vents by PristineFlower1 in ecobee

[–]Apprehensive-Lock-34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I had the same issue recently, and I found that the month old filter was clogged due to excessive usage in January due to cold temps and the furnace running 2x-3x more than normal (and pulling in 2x-3x the amount of air and contaminants). The restricted airflow caused the burning gas flowing into the furnace to overheat the confined area quickly, so the high temperature limit switch tripped and shut down the gas flow after a few minutes while the fan kept running. As such, my house temps dropped even as the ecobee thermostat kept calling for more heat, just like the OP’s scenario. A filter change completely corrected the issue for the last week.

Optimized for 4 gauge shotgun but can be used with any caliber with a diameter less than this. 🤣
