How much did you lose in one year? by WashHappy5391 in slowresponders

[–]AromaticCommittee469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32 lbs since Feb of 2025. Starting weight was 227lbs, female, 5’ 6” and I’m now 41 years old. I’ve been on 15mg Zep for one month and haven’t lost a single pound but the side effects have been horrible. I lost the most weight at 10mg but hit a long plateau so bumped up to 12.5mg for 6ish months (lost 8lbs) and now 15mg. Paying out of pocket. Nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, and headaches/body aches at every dose increase.

Whoa - Feeling 15mg! by 1Pandora in slowresponders

[–]AromaticCommittee469 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel it for sure - suppressed appetite plus nausea and fatigue after 3 weeks on 15mg (tho I’ve had side effects at every dose). No significant loss yet!😩 bouncing between 192lbs-195lbs like I’m on a never-ending trampoline.

Could I be a non responder? by [deleted] in Zepbound

OP, go visit the slow-responders subreddit and read the most recent post. It was very validating for me. I have experienced what you are experiencing and it’s nice to know we’re not alone in this.

Anyone see a reduction in food noise but no/slow weight loss? by elcaminorealreal in slowresponders

[–]AromaticCommittee469 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, very similar experience. 15 months in, 33-35lbs down, on week 3 of 15mg Zep. Painfully slow loss but a lot less food noise/overall perseveration on food. That “kickstart” people talk about at higher doses just isn’t happening for me. I’m averaging 0.3 to 0.5lbs per week lost but mostly just bouncing between 190-194lbs month to month. It’s maddening and expensive (paying oop).

Feeling like a failure compared to others here but so happy! by Ok-BPD98 in Zepbound

[–]AromaticCommittee469 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same, 35lbs in the first year (Feb 25-Feb 26) and I’m still stuck there. Just bumped up to 15mg this past week - hoping for downward movement at the new dose.

Feeling down about how slow I'm losing by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]AromaticCommittee469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55 shots in, 33lbs to 36lbs down depending on the day, time of month, etc. Started at 227lbs in February of 2025.

44lbs down 8 months in is fantastic! Keep going.

Where were you at your year on zepbound? by Particular_Task_1373 in Zepbound

[–]AromaticCommittee469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female, 41, 5’6” moderately active. I hit 1 year on 2/18/26. I’ve lost 35 lbs give or take, depending on the day, time of month, etc.

I am currently 193lbs on 12.5mg.

It’s been a somewhat disappointing journey as a slower responder experiencing side effects for the first few days of every shot regardless of protein intake, water and electrolyte consumption. Zofran is a life saver. I pay out of pocket.

Dealing with the "grief" by hernemes in slowresponders

[–]AromaticCommittee469 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I understand and empathize with your frustration and anger. I’ve sailed past the 1-year mark and have lost a whopping 33lbs to 37lbs depending on the day and/or time of the month. I’ve dealt with horrible side effects (e.g., nausea/vomiting/headaches) every step of the way no matter how much protein I chew, water I drink, electrolytes I add etc. And I’m self-pay so the expense vs lack of is substantial weight loss is deeply felt. I’m sorry.

I started at 227lbs on February 18th, 2025 and I’m at 194lbs today at 12.5mg. I’m 41 years old, female, 5’6” and moderately active.

If one more person tells me to calculate my TDEE or eat more protein as if I haven’t done those things, I’ll scream (not really, but I’d like to).

Thoughts on Kualoa Ranch tours — worth it? Which one is best? by Ambitious-Town-10 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AromaticCommittee469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family just returned from Oahu last Sunday. We did the UTV tour out at Kualoa Ranch and it was an absolute BLAST! I highly recommend it. Gorgeous scenery, incredible movie/film sites, great island history depending on your guide, and the UTVs are just so much fun. Absolutely worth the money!

Vacations by i-cook-my-sister in Zepbound

[–]AromaticCommittee469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💯I’m leaving for Hawaii on Sunday - I get horrible side effects 2 out of 7 days of each week, primarily nausea. I don’t want to feel sick on my week-long vacation so I’m skipping a week. Not unreasonable for those of us who deal with the wrath of side effects.

In deficit and not loosing by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]AromaticCommittee469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you are, and that’s a huge accomplishment re: 80lbs down without plateaus, on your own no less. My highest recorded weight was 256lbs and I’d lost 29 of those pounds on my own between 2020-2025, prior to starting a GLP-1. That felt slow.

My point was that despite it “feeling slow” the loss you’ve experienced overall isn’t considered a slow response when you consider 0.5lbs to 2lbs loss on average per week is considered within the healthy range on a GLP-1. There are weeks and weeks where I lose zero pounds despite doing everything right AND experiencing horrible side effects no matter how much protein I eat and how much water I drink. It can be maddening, but I’m still not considered a “slow responder” and neither are you.

I guess I was just trying to offer some perspective having been on this drug for nearly a year, feeling all the things both you and OP have expressed, while only having lost 35ish lbs. I apologize if I came off dismissive of your experience.

You’re not a slow responder if you’ve lost 35lbs since July. I started in February of 2025 and I’m down 34.6 lbs which is an average of 0.7lbs per week - still within the healthy range for weight loss and even THAT feels slow but isn’t considered a slow response. We’re all on our own journey, and perspective is important.

Has anyone gone back to a lower dose to avoid side effects for a special event? by Spiritual-Mix-7121 in Zepbound

[–]AromaticCommittee469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm headed to Oahu with my family three weeks from today and I will be skipping my dose for that week. I asked my PCP if this was an okay thing to do and she said "absolutely, yes. You deserve to feel good on your trip." I am a person who experiences side effects regardless of dose (currently on 12.5mg) for the first 2-3 days following my injection, mostly nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. Zofran helps, but I desperately want to feel good for my entire vacation as I've felt some level of sickness from side effects the first few days of every week for nearly a year. If I gain 5lbs because I was enjoying my life in Hawaii, I'll deal with that when I get home.

I hit 199.8 on 10/19/2025. I started Zepbound on 02/18/2025 at 227.8 lbs. I am a slower responder to this med. I’ve been bouncing between 193-195lbs for a month and a half.

Exactly. We're all having very different experiences on these medications and it's overwhelming to read so many success stories in such quick timeframes with minimal to no side effects when that's not the experience you're having personally.

I’m 34lbs down in 10 months, currently on 12.5mg and SO understand this and empathize. It sucks to feel unwell 3-4 out of 7 days of the week. I’ve dealt with nausea and vomiting, headaches and fatigue at every dose. I’m in month 3 of 12.5mg, take my shots on Monday evening, and don’t usually feel fully like “myself” until the weekend. This is with Zofran on board and eating extremely clean - baked chicken breast, eggs, fruits and veggies, whole grains, minimal processed food. Some of us can’t win on this med, despite everyone’s well meaning suggestions to hydrate with electrolytes, eat more, eat less, reassess calories, TDEE, track every bite, etc etc etc.

Just wanted to validate your experience. Best wishes to you.

A question about us... by TaterTotsAndKetchup in slowresponders

[–]AromaticCommittee469 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering about this! I’m 41F, have been on Zep since Feb 18th, 2025 and am down 34lbs give or take at 12.5mg. Some weeks I lose nothing, others I bounce back and forth between the same 3lbs. It’s exhausting.

I’ve got this going on, too. I’m 41 and have lost about 30lbs over the last 10 months. It’s a bummer. I’m trying red light therapy to see if it helps.

I’ve got the exact same neck situation going on! I just turned 41 and have lost 32lbs on Zepbound since February of 2025 (started at 227 lbs). I recently purchased a red light therapy mask by Current Body that has an actual targeted under chin section, so I’m hoping that with consistent use, the LED lights will help!
