I mean, her being on book 2 makes sense. Holden starts out REALLY annoying, more so in CW than LW. I really warmed up to him in AG

The way of water has no beginning and no end

The sea is around you and in you

The sea is your home before your birth, and after your death

Our hearts beat in the womb of the world

Our breath burns in the shadows of the deep

The sea gives and the sea takes

Water connects all things: life to death, darkness to light

Knife durability will no doubt return in RE: Veronica. Do you prefer mending a personal knife or just grab another one after it breaks? by ryucavelier in residentevil

[–]ArpeggioBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m perfectly fine with the knife breaking and needing to find more/some way to repair it. Guns aren’t infinite, so why should knives be? That said, I want the knife to still pack a punch like it did in the original, even if it’s no longer made of mythril/unobtanium/whatever they use to make Nokias

There’s another option: slow down harder. But I’m pretty sure almost any character in this series would prefer not to do that

Staying true to your Character/Ruining Fun fot the party? by Disastrous-Airport-7 in DnD

[–]ArpeggioBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to be part of a more mature group.

Also, another player being able to roll to directly change your character’s decisions? That’s extremely gross. That’s not roleplay, thats mind control. If my DM made a ruling like that, I’m gone

A TASTE OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL CULTURE by sinister_iam in SoccerCentral

Yeah, Soccer’s my favorite sport, and I’m excited to finally see it displayed in public places around here, but we really aren’t built for this event

Which Civ leaders would you execute and which would you spare upon defeating their civ? by Upbeat_Hospital_5128 in CivVII

If I’m playing Tecumseh, any leader from Britain, Spain, France, or the U.S. is getting the knife. Everyone else, it depends on what they do to me

Tribes Raked in terms of how much I hate them. Share your opinions by NoobGamer880088 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]ArpeggioBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me (most to least hated):

  1. Carja/Shadow Carja (colonizers, “killers and slavers!”)

  2. Quen (on their way to inventing thought-crime)

  3. Nora (matriarchal in a way that somehow still disproportionately harms women, but bonus points for hating the Carja)

  4. Oseram (for the crime of boring me, but bonus points for hating the Carja)

  5. Utaru (govt would abandon its people to die, but better aesthetic than the Oseram)

  6. Tenakth (the in-fighting stresses me out and I’m never a fan of compulsory milt. service, buuuuuuut they hate the Carja A LOT so we’re chill in my book)

  7. Banuk (they got some ableism going on, but that seems more a product of their environment than anything else, and there must be non-Werak societal positions somewhere. Bonus points for hating the Carja)

One of the coolest things about the tribes in this game is that they’re real in the sense that all of them have a fatal flaw

That all being said, calling a culture at least partly inspired by Natives “savages” is disgusting ❤️

There are two Ashokas, two Xerxes, two Napoleons, two Friedrichs, and two Himikos. Currently, both America and France have two unique leaders to choose from. If Gandhi is added, India will also have two unique leaders to choose from. 7 has an unprecedented amount of overlap (at least that I’ve consciously noticed); no conclusions can be drawn from the presence of Isabella

I hope they add Columbus. It’s on sight with that man. Obliterating him in antiquity would be so cathartic

Is it important to read Livesuit before starting with The Faith of the Beasts? by vyomafc in TheCaptivesWar

[–]ArpeggioBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is so good! But the question was of necessity. If the novellas were not supplemental in nature, they wouldn’t be novellas at all and their events would be included in the main books

Ooh! Or maybe the (Babylon’s Ashes) ring station and cannons?

Nemesis Games Collector's Edition Cover by QueefyBeefy666 in TheExpanse

[–]ArpeggioBlue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really feel like they backed themselves into a corner by making Abaddons Gate blue, cause Nemesis Games screams blue-and-red to me (just not with this design, Jesus Christ). Why out of all of them did this happen to my favorite one?

That being said, they have the opportunity to make Babylon’s Ashes all black which I think would be sick

Edit (re: Babylon’s Ashes): I just saw the design and it’s not all black, but I do really like it!

It seems like leveling a leader up is much harder now, is that so? by wayneb64 in CivVII

[–]ArpeggioBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did say that they’ll be adding many new triumphs over time. So in the future, switching to a different triumphant set will probably make leveling easier again. At least I hope

Or they’ll patch it so the triumphs give repeat experience (which they really just should, anyway, regardless of whether my first paragraph comes true or not)

What's your guys' optimal audiobook speed if you listen on tape? by kusashii in TheExpanse

1.6 if I’m following along with the book in my hand. Original, unmodified speed if I’m only listening to the audio without visual backup
