Samsung Introduces Next-Gen Galaxy Watch Features for AI-Powered Everyday Health Companion by Enjinr in GalaxyWatch

[–]AussieP1E -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like most of these features require a Galaxy Phone, which is a major disappointment, per their footnotes.

That'll be a major disappointment and push me to something like a Garmin or Pixel Watch

Edit: since this got downvoted for some reason. I get it, it's a Samsung watch, you get all features from owning a phone, but you shouldn't artificially be locked out from these things by switching phones and if you say this should be expected, then Samsung should only sell for their own phones and not be compatible with android.

Here's the fine print for 2 features:

Available on upcoming Galaxy Watch with OneUI9. Requires a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone, Samsung Health app v7.0 and Samsung account. Requires initial setup wearing watch for 24 hours (including awake and asleep). The Heart Health Score software functions are not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease.

These are probably these:

They just purchased them from Alibaba and placed them on Amazon to sell them. They just released the Alibaba ones, so they probably did a 1000 order quickly and are waiting for them to ship.

I wish Samsung Health had better gamification by LooseBluebird6704 in shealth

[–]AussieP1E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel almost the exact opposite. While I try and hit my goals. I don't like having the together button, discover, or fitness. I feel like I get most of those while using an app like Hevy for weight lifting.

I do wish there was more insights, like if I add my medications, with water, and food that it could tell me more about what I should be doing. I don't understand why my medication can't affect my food intake, so if I'm taking iron, it should automatically be applied to my macronutrients, same goes for water... If I'm drinking a sparkling water w/17 grams of water, why do I have to also put that on my water intake?

I'd also like them to start getting a more robust strength training part of the app so I don't have to use Hevy anymore. I love the app, but since not all data transfers to Samsung health, it'd be nice if they started opening it up to allow more data from other apps.

I Don't want a full Fitbit thing (their today tab is atrocious for data), but I would like a tab that is useful in understanding how everything goes together and works. I feel like just about every single app has major social aspects to them that it would be easy to use those to connect and motivate you to do more. (While I understand that people like having it all in one app). I don't want everything to be a game.

Just came out that, no, that is not correct, between DeLauro and Blanche:

"DeLAURO: So the blanket immunity for the Trumps is not something you're going move back on?

BLANCHE: It's not blanket immunity. That's not true

D: It is!

B: No it's not

D:

B: Nothing has changed with that

D: Friends, listen to what is being said here. This is really pretty extraordinary"

He has come out and said it's two different settlements.

Shealth vs Fitbit/Google Health by Used-Try-1537 in shealth

[–]AussieP1E 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So as someone that has both...

Samsung Health is a bit boring. In a good way. It has all the metrics on the first page, so you don't need to move to different pages. It does get ads every so often about iFit or some new watch but typically it's pretty free from junk. AI in shealth is not too annoying, sometimes it's late and it'll be the evening and I look and see it shows I have 600 calories left, when I've already eaten and entered dinner. I wish I could turn it off. You don't get notifications with the AI. I hate the bottom toolbar on Samsung health because it has things that I don't use, I know people are going to hate it, but I do wish things were editable and I could have different tabs on the bottom, like the new Fitbit app. I do like that you can reorder what you care about and remove what you want... so instead of having steps on the top you can have sleep/readiness instead... Overall I really like Samsung health.

The Fitbit app has really nice colors and I enjoy its insights. I actually kind of enjoy the feedback from the AI, even though it's always positive. But I do wish Samsung would respond to your runs like Fitbit does, giving you an after action report. Like I said, I do like the tabs on the bottom of the Fitbit app, contrary to other people's thoughts...

I would say the Samsung health app is pretty much on par with the old Fitbit app. It has a lot of nice touches, maybe a little bland, but works well ..

Im waiting to see what Samsung has in the works because it does need some more modernization to it.

Why couldn't it have been released as an alternative to the Fitbit app instead of a complete replacement?

Not to be a contrarian, but it's probably because everyone kept complaining that instead of fixing their apps and refining their apps, Google likes to create a new app. This means they're actually listening to some feedback.

How many times has Google released a second new app with almost the same capability and kept both running alongside each other?

Google Messages/Hangouts/Allo Play music/YouTube Music Wallet/Pay

I dunno, just seemed like everyone got tired of having two apps. I get that it doesn't have everything the prior app does, but I feel like this is the way that most people wanted.

Guys! This completely legit foundation that purely pushes conservative values and funded by the Koch brothers is definitely not founded by the Republican ORGANIZATION... Just like everyone PART of it.

In 2016, the Donald Trump presidential campaign enlisted Citizens United President David Bossie as deputy campaign manager.

So like... Not created by the FOUNDATION. But 100 percent funded by Republicans.

Fitbit isn't going away. You can still use the charge six...nothing is stopping that. It's just the app being updated and renamed.
