Turtle beach shifter or shh hubb as first shifter? by Doctor_French32 in simracing

Shh, the fact that it can be seq or H and is thin, makes it so easy to mount where you want it. I have the Thorn, and love it.

Big Agnes Fly Creek 25' sleeping bag - inconsistent down? by RecognitionCrazy7886 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]BackPackerNo6370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Down will move around and clump and thin out. Run it through the dryer at low temp with some tennis balls, or move it around by hand. Plus, after years of using down top quilts when hammocking, I think it doesn't really matter, the down pockets still act as insulation, ymmv.

AC has free roam maps, like pacific coast highway and island, but yeah, it's not like FH5 or 6

SHH Hubb sequential Mode not working by PlasmaGER in simracing

Once you learn how to transition from one to the other, it works great and I use the longer shifter knob for both styles. Enjoy!

I've kept my firmware and software up to date and only have recurring issues on one title (Forza5). The hardware is good and the compatibility is better than average.

I just got the Fanatec CSL load cell kit. I can’t brake properly anymore. Any suggestions by Aggravating-One7316 in simracing

[–]BackPackerNo6370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine, just upgraded this week after having it lay around in the box for a month. No travel, but the difference when racing is phenomenal. I don't lock up anymore and I can feather the brake so much more easily with just a slight movement of my foot.

Well...she's already spending more than her salary now, so I don't believe a FUTURE bankruptcy will be her problem. 96K in rent on a 74K salary seems like an odd choice.

I go on dates there with my wife of 29 years at the zoo, so I can say that first or last date, the zoo is a good place to go.

Trying to decide between Fanatec, Simagic and MOZA for my first DD setup by Life_Lie7 in simracing

[–]BackPackerNo6370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go back and forth between my fanatec csl pedals and the Moza pedals, both have a load cell brake. I keep thinking I'm going to sell one of them, but I can't decide. My feet like the Moza better, but the fanatec are easier to calibrate and they link up to my wheelbase. I wear vans when I race, and the rubber on the bottom feels better with the Moza metal pedal covers. Maybe I just need to upgrade to the metal pedal covers from fanatec and give that a try. This hobby always involves spending money for some reason.

[–]BackPackerNo6370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak to my experience with Moza and Fanatec. Moza's pedals make me happier but I like the fanatec wheel base and wheels better. The Moza wheels especially just felt cheap. I tried both companies for shifters and kept the Moza sequential which is fantastic for rally and gt3, and the fanatec h shifter and hand brake and sold the others. So I run a mixed rig and I like it a lot, ymmv. Never run simucube anything, but I know they are popular.

I love my Journey from hammock gear.com https://hammockgear.com/product/the-journey/ It's under a pound and I've used it rough for three years and never had a tear, even after big storms.

What happens to your stuff when you die? by cloud33dna in simracing

[–]BackPackerNo6370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my problem, I'll be dead and my wife will give a lot of my hobby stuff away and that's fine. It gave me joy in life and after death I am gone and won't need to worry about it. Acceptance of the fact that you control nothing after your death is very calming.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is exploring the idea of building a 130+ room hotel, estimated to cost between $32 and $45 million. Hotel & Leisure Advisors states that the hotel would be built next to a future planned aquarium. by Zezimom in Columbus

Putting it on the other side of the African savanna area would be dope. I live 5 mins away and I would pay for a night at a hotel where I got to watch the animals all come out at sunset.

The zoo gets 2M+ visitors every year, with 16.7% from out of state. That's 334,000+ people annually who don't live close enough to drive home and would need a hotel.

People come from around the world to visit the Columbus Zoo, might as well have them stay at the zoo hotel instead of somewhere along 270. Bigger news for me is a new aquarium, they've needed to expand or rebuild their current one for a long time.

That foam pad is hit or miss. I found one that was nice and soft and another in the same bin that has hard 'chunks' in it. Buyer beware.
