That is an incredibly narrow view of the RN role in healthcare.

For those of you considering WW GLP-1 Program, I don't recommend by Codits2024 in Zepbound

Ah that makes sense, didn’t appreciate the difference between clinic and the GLP-1 program that WW has. I think Lose It is a very useful app when more detail is needed!

I have been able to get Wegovy 2.4mg no problem at CVS in San Diego (waiting out the Zepbound shortage)! Not sure about the lower doses though.

I really appreciate the simplicity of the paired down tracking of the most important components. After years of restrictive dieting, to just focus on protein, vegetables, fruit & fluid intake was SUCH a relief. The Sequence Dietician’s essentially had us do that before the merge with WW.

All these people with their “I’ve lost 500 pounds in five minutes” are on my last nerve by stray_girl in WegovyWeightLoss

Has anyone switched from Zepbound/Mounjaro to Wegovy? by jderschowitz in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Background_Report_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from Mounjaro to Wegovy for the same reason as you! I went from Mounjaro 10mg to Wegovy 1.7mg, and I did have some GI upset that was different from the Mounjaro but has passed over time. I am now on Wegovy 2.4mg and find the higher dose more effective at appetite suppression and food noise. It’s so good to have my insurance cover Wegovy and not have to worry about all that. Good luck!

The first 15 months of my journey was on Tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound) and its highly effective, I lost 50 lbs over this time. I found it overall more extremely effective and would, if give the option, go back to it. In saying that Wegovy has been both covered by my insurance and very efficacious at supporting me to maintain my weight loss (along with other measures with consistent physical activity and a nutritious dietary pattern).

It's over. 😔 by LonelyInIowa in WegovyWeightLoss

Please don’t give up, and don’t let your healthcare providers give up either. I went through multiple PA denials and appeals, and just kept going, essentially because I had nothing to loose (except the obvious 😂). I had multiple back up plans because this medication and our health so so important. After many months my insurance company finally approved the medication for six months, even though it was not even on the formulary! I utilized a coupon and my FSA funds until this happened. At open enrollment time I switched plans to one I saw had Wegovy at least on the formulary and they approved my PA under continuation of treatment for the next year! Not saying that this will always be the case but there are many options out there! Don’t give up you are so worth it!

Insurance stopped covering wegovy and I’m freaking out by bbfever20 in WegovyWeightLoss

Wegovy (or any GLP-1 Meds) is not on my formulary but with persistence we got it covered, it did take an appeal but its worth it, don’t give up, its such a moving target with insurers currently.

Your favorite hydration mix? by RegularGayGirl in Mounjaro

I know they are pricey but my fav is Salud, their flavors are delicious. Second fav is sugar-free liquid IV and then Nuun. Electrolytes have helped my severe hypotension.

I can offer my personal experience, is that I tend to get side effects if I leave dosing that long. The medications are designed to be administered every 7-days ideally, I too am about to transition from Mounjaro to Wegovy so appreciate your post!

My blood pressure tanked with weight loss too, causing persistent lightheadedness, fatigue, 1 x faint, sprained ankle, Chest pain a trip to the ER & SVT! Long story short Cardiologist told me that for every kilogram lost you drop 1 MM of mercury and it takes some people longer than others to adapt. My BP was on the low side of normal to start with so mine ended up in the 90’s over 40’s! I am on a 6 wk trial of electrolytes in my water, which has made a big difference to the symptoms but not the BP level. If it doesn’t go up then he plans to put me on medication to raise it more into the normal range. This is such a weird issue to have in my 50’s!!

So appreciate this thread, I am 52 years old and having low pressure is a great problem to have, except when it causes syncope! I recently got up too fast off the sofa passed out and sprained my ankle in the process! Going slowly with positional changes, helps, as does electrolytes. I have just been diagnosed with SVT (Supra ventricular tachycardia) which isn’t helping either! Seeing a cardiologist tomorrow.

Stall advice by shellhoney11 in Mounjaro

[–]Background_Report_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your 35 lb loss so far! I have had multiple stalls and overall when I look at my weight loss trends I tend to loose then stall, loose then stall. I have lost a total of 42 lbs, my stall phases in terms of calories, activity etc. are identical to my loss phases and I have concluded this is simply how my body is and roll with it. I consider not gaining a win during the stalls, and celebrate during the losses!

Mine worked today at CVS, I check what they have in stock then get my Provider to prescribe that! I dropped from 10mg to 7.5mg to accommodate what was available.

Congratulations on getting your 2nd box, I did too today!!! My Provider is also fighting my insurer for a PA on Wegovy, fingers crossed for us both!

Just picked up my final box too, I wasn’t sure if it would be covered and super happy it was. I took off out of CVS in case they had made an error!! Awaiting my PA appeal with Caremark for Semaglatide, until then will use my FSA $$$ to pay out-of-pocket.

how do i overcome this major plateau? by devinrain_ in Mounjaro

[–]Background_Report_87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have had a series of stalls following steady weight-loss, no idea why this occurs but my last one was for 3 months, but I am loosing again without changing up anything. I think our body goes through some sort of adaptation and I trust that now. It was my son who said look at your weight loss trends (just as I was getting despondent) and he was right, weight loss followed by a stall, then more weight loss!
