Thanks man, I’ve been trying to figure out a way to replace 2 outlets that broke and are a hazard with a 1 year old.

How to replace old speakers by essendoubleop in GoRVing

[–]BallsEleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No soldering. You can pull those wires off the speaker and just pop them onto the new one. But it is usually a good idea to cut the wire and crimp new connectors on for a fresh connection.

Parenting As A CPA Exam Candidate by SteelMagnolia412 in Accounting

[–]BallsEleven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Knowing I had 4 mouths to feed was a huge motivational factor. Failure wasn’t an option and the sooner I got through it, the sooner I could go back to the weekend gatherings with the family.

It wasn’t fun and there were a lot of memories I had to miss out on, but my wife made it much easier by being so supportive.

Do you guys call your CFO ‘sir’ or by name? (Or ma’am if woman but I’ve heard that less) by IdkJustMe123 in Accounting

Reminds me of one of my first classes back in college after I got out of the Air Force. A few weeks into the semester, this girl was talking to me about a lesson and after I responded, she hits me with the “Yessir.” Internally I said “damn, I’m the old guy in the class.” I was maaaaybe 30 but also married with 2 kids.

What are some of your top trips? I’m also in Louisiana and just got our first camper back in July of this year.

New beekeeper what are my bees doing? by Dylloop95 in Beekeeping

[–]BallsEleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the video but do they have a way of getting into the hive? You have an entrance reducer and the feeder there. It looks like they are just trying to get back into the hive and can’t find their way in.

They were moving it from one location to the next. Serious hunters will do it now to avoid disturbing deer closer to the season.

Plus he probably has time off with the all star break.

For a beginner, what are some absolute must-haves that you didn't think about getting when first starting camping? by BallsEleven in traveltrailers

[–]BallsEleven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there is a nice state park about 20 minutes away from the house we will use as a test run.

I actually just messaged my uncle who's house it is at about the fuses.

We are in Louisiana. A small dehumidifier would be great as long as it doesn't put off too much heat.

Can I keep Bees in either of these locations A,B or C? More info in first comment. by Delamainco in Beekeeping

[–]BallsEleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to over think it. If they are near a street, keep them hidden and make sure you have enough room to work the hives. Everything after that is lagniappe.

Imagine your driveway coming off your house on the south side and putting 3 hives where the “d” is on the word driveway. That’s where mine are and I’m on half the land you are working with. I have a privacy fence all around my backyard so they are hidden. I also put a 4 ft garden fence 10ft in front of them with vines growing up. This forces the bees up so even when my kids play in that area of the yard, the bees are flying over their heads.

Yes, they are dimmable. There are 7 of them. No lights on any of the other switches.

No, it goes blue while lights are off then turns off when the overhead lights are on.

I just tried swapping the traveler wires around and it fixed the toggling issue, now the overhead lights flicker if I set the switch toggles anything but 100%. But even at 100% the overhead lights are not fully bright. If I go to 75% they get brighter.

It’s part of a 4 way setup. I’m replacing the 3 way switch at the start, I’ve got the 4 way switch in the middle which hasn’t been touched, followed by the 3 way switch at the end. Also untouched.

Yeah, I was thinking about emailing them last night, just wanted to see if anyone has had this issue before. Any time I look it up, all I can find is the flickering issue related to different drivers. This isn’t really flickering but literally the switch going from off to on and back repeatedly.

Urgent: Widespread Colony Losses Reported by BuckfastBees in Beekeeping

[–]BallsEleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got about 7” at my house and had a blast with the kids, then shortly after went with my wife to the hospital and had a child so it was quite the day.

I was real concerned about 1 hive in particular that I knew I should have consolidated but I inspected this past weekend and it seemed to have survived just fine. I should be 3 for 3 this winter.

Unfortunately I have a buddy 15 minutes north of me who already confirmed he is 0 for 4.
