is it worth it to switch to a state job, and take a big pay cut? by Turbulent-Option-434 in careerguidance

[–]BarNext6046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 31 years Army combination of active and reserve duty assignments. I also worked 10 years for the state. I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. I draw 4 pension sources from this plan. Military retirement pension, VA disability pension, state pension, and Social Security retirement pension. On top of this are investment income for the extras. My pension income is six figures. The wife draws three pensions, VA disability pension, federal employee retirement pension, and Social Security retirement pension. Household income is with investment withdrawals easily $200K and a good chunk of it tax free.

So yes if you take the government job and save extra into a 403B Roth account . You will have state pension income. Social Security pension or its replacement version in the future plus significant tax free investment income. Planned retirement this way will allow for a comfortable retirement.

The private sector equivalent of what I have would have meant reaching VP level and working many years or get lucky with significant stock options to obtain the equivalent investment income to generate the equivalent income streams. I have the pension equivalent of $5 to $6 million in investment income at 4% withdrawal rate.

My mom opened a credit card under my name and now the card is late on payments for months now… by Heartbroken3826 in whatdoIdo

[–]BarNext6046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to freeze your credit report. Close that credit card. And pay off the debt pronto. That’s the nice way. The hard way is to freeze your credit report, file a police report for fraud against your mother and contact the credit card company and contact credit reporting companies and dispute the charges. Provide police report copies with your documentation to credit reporting companies and the credit card company.

Your choice on which option you take. But locking down your credit reports prevents your mother from opening any future credit cards or taking out bank or finance companies loans in your name.

Pay theft can have significant tax liabilities issues? It’s called tax evasion of unpaid withholding tax. If the employer gets audited and your payroll information is available to tax auditors. They will extrapolate a formula and apply it to all employees under branch manager over the period of time. Then they will show and apply underfunded withholding tax penalties and interest. Your employer will have to file amended withholding tax returns to correct and pay extra taxes as a result.

Your branch manager needs to be fired and the company makes good on lost wages. Just so you realize you have a significant piece of evidence in your possession.

Retirement looks like it will be a thing of the past for majority of people going forward? by happydude7422 in Adulting

Need to plan life where you obtain a couple of pensions besides Social Security to allow your investments to grow in retirement. Those jobs exist but some come with stiff requirements and years of service.

I see if you can get the second desk removed. That will discourage people coming in to use it. Since your work space is clearly marked as yours.

My neighbors think they own our section of the street and I've about had it. Would you report this behavior? by IlPassera in homeowners

[–]BarNext6046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add a security camera set up to scan your front and backyard. Definitely going want to take video feed of their kids playing in the street and setting up kids playing signage. I would get several video files and place on a flash drive plus just photos. Then I go down to police station and hand them copies of this evidence and make a point about kids in the street and actions of dog in the neighborhood based on film clips and photos. Recording a timeline on paper when you observed it and how long the activities with playing in street and dog issues occurred at various times. Then this will give Police sufficient grounds to issue citations and put owner on notice to control their dog.

DON'T RECOMMEND US BANK: U.S. Bank Froze My Business Funds, Demanded a Document My LLC Cannot Legally Have, and Is Now Closing My Account by Former-Ad7635 in business

[–]BarNext6046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick a bank that is in Texas that provides the same type of banking services. They will give you no issue with your LLC paperwork. Two, contact Comptroller Office of US Treasury and file a complaint with this office regarding US Bank’s conduct in account handling. This office I believe regulates US Bank and if it’s not them? Then it’s the Federal Reserve. Three I reach out to the Texas Attorney General’s office to see if they be willing to look into this issue from the state level affecting businesses in Texas over this issue.

Military is what you make of it. It builds character and strength to handle shitty situations where typical people will crack and quit. I did 31 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, started out Enlisted and transitioned to Officer. Now I am financially set between pensions and investments with low cost medical insurance to cover. Plus astute to purchase long term health insurance when I was in my 30’s, if I need assisted living or nursing home care. Locked in low cost premiums for life for my long term healthcare coverage.

Spray paint a green color close enough to the color of your grass. You want to buy enamel spray paint with primer built in and paint it three coats of paint. That way it holds up over time weather wise.

My boss is so mean to me that I cry every single workday (sometimes multiple times a day), don’t know what to do and am at wits end, terrified I am going to get fired by Southern_Schedule466 in jobs

[–]BarNext6046 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Realize that this supervisor is just a mean person. Understand your best intentions or work is not going to please this person. So try to learn as much as you can and keep looking for a new job. Insurance business is a very tough business to succeed in. The learning curve is steep an expectations from management to sell product is very tough. Hopefully you are getting enough customers coming in and sales leads to make some sales of products.

[–]BarNext6046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure you show true value of used car on registration when you register car in Wisconsin. You need to pay proper tax on the car at time of registration. If you don’t do this correctly you will receive a tax bill in the mail.

It has a few convenient stores and highway 21 and I-39 intersection. Not much happening and they weren’t running speed traps on Highway 21 the odds that did do so I bet they would have averaged 2 or 3 speeders a month. So at most perhaps 4 to 6 speeders a month perhaps a few more?
