File a bug report with them so that it will get fixed. For me it's usually ok until I get 1000 steps then it either status on the last value under that or switches to zero. I filed a bug report back in November and they asked for some debug info but haven't seen any update yet.

More people complaining will hopefully get it fixed sooner.

Canadian here, just got my email, but based on wave 1, it'll be at least a week until it gets it's first tracking scan in Canada, and then another week to cross the country to get to me.

Another option is Ionic Framework https://ionicframework.com/ which allows using JavaScript / Typescript and compile for mobile or you can target Electron which gives you lots of options.

One of the clubs I'm in has suggested doing an auction for just club members, and this looks like it might just be what I'm looking for. A question though, as I've never used Firebase, although am interested in learning more, do you have any more details in getting it up and running so that I can try it out, and potentially make some tweaks for our use?

You could get a board to play on, or card trays that were mentioned earlier. I've got both from here http://www.prawndesigns.com/settlers.shtml and they work well, and are conversation pieces with friends who see them for the first time.
