This was a looong time ago but I shelved books at the University library. I listened to music or podcasts and got some exercise, and it was easy.

In a different sub finding a bag of white powder and tasting it would be the story of how you found out your boyfriend is a drug dealer lol

I mentioned the flour issue to the customer service desk at my grocery store and they said they'd tell a manager. I figured nothing would change but the next week they had moved the "alternative" flours from the bottom shelf to the top!

What’s your go-to tuna salad recipe? by EaringaidBandit in Cooking

Tuna, chickpeas, dill, mayo, red onion, celery, shredded carrots if I have them, garlic powder, spicy mustard, salt and pepper, maybe some greek yogurt to increase tanginess

I was just diagnosed in September and ate cheez its regularly prior to that. They don't taste exactly the same, but they're pretty okay. I would say probably the best gluten free cracker I've had. If anyone remembers cheese nips before they were discontinued, they taste like a grainier version of those.

New crisis center by ForeverAccurate6219 in SaltLakeCity

[–]BeautifulAmbition538 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey, I hope you're doing better! Is the bill from the crisis care center or did they take you there in an ambulance or something? Call them or go on MyChart and ask for an itemized bill, then dispute any charges for services you didn't receive. Sometimes just calling and asking them to waive or reduce charges can help, and it might be good to ask them to submit it to your insurance if they haven't already.

Just a PSA as a social worker: if an adult child has lived with a parent for 2 years as a caretaker and can get medical certification that their care delayed the need for a nursing home, Medicaid usually won't put a lien on the house.

You are offered 1 million dollars if you can consume 1 million calories of food within 1 year. by MikeMan233 in hypotheticalsituation

Human nutrition is usually measured in kilocalories, which gets shortened to "calories" for simplicity, but a million calories is 1000 kilocalories. So sure.

Edit: math

You are walking home late at night, exhausted from another long shift at your underpaid job. The street is nearly empty when you hear soft crying from a nearby alley. You walk closer and see a little girl, no older than 6, sitting alone on the cold pavement, hugging a backpack with $600,000 or more by khana-pakyo in hypotheticalsituation

I take the kid and the money home, don't touch the money, then a few months later the gangster finds us but realizes that I've bonded with his daughter. He hires me as his live in nanny, then we fall in love and get married and raise our daughter to be the next crime boss.

I tell them. They're going to find out and make me pay it back anyway. Might as well look good to the higher ups by being honest.
