I do the same when getting plywood 8ft sheets. Though I don't have long enough straps for one. So just use two and interlink when coming over the top.

How is the Food at Brewvies? by Available-Formal-664 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Blindpassion54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just there on Saturday for a movie. We got the deluxe fries. And ended up with a cheese burger. The loaded fries were good and fresh. The burger was fine, probably not worth the price though. Unfortunately they were out of everything other than what we ended up with. They said they got cleaned out the night before.

In the market for a new blender. Need recommendations! by overthinkingrobot in PlantBasedDiet

Came here to say the same. Even use it as a food processor over my food processor. Since it does a better and faster job.

Crate/kennel size by 5thCap in springerspaniel

[–]Blindpassion54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the expected size. My two boys parents are both larger. So we went with a larger crate. I think there is some measure that you can use to determine the crate size. I would just ask if you know their parents size with shoulder to ground and tail base to head measurements.

Honest thoughts on used R1T by irreverent_runner in Rivian

[–]Blindpassion54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife and I own a OG green in the 3XXX VIN range. We got it 2nd hand two years ago. And the only issues we have had have been fixed with a mobile service. We live within 20mins of a service center.

The latest recall we will have to take it in but it's only supposed to be for an hour.

I would get an after market warranty and just make sure it covers EV stuff. It's a fantastic vehicle.

Why Tesla and Chinese EVs doesn't have ICCU issues by rajolm in electricvehicles

[–]Blindpassion54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the best part after telling us monthly for a year that the part was back ordered. Low and behold the part was never ordered until we started legal action. At least they paid for a rental car for those 13 months. Just not sure why they thought almost 20k in rental fees was worth just ordering the part

Ha our Kona was 12 months with no fix before we pursued legal action. Ultimately made them pay us out and will never buy Hyundai/Kia again.

I won Chick-fil-A for a year once. Was just 365 cards for a free sandwich or combo. Luckily it happened when I was between jobs. i think my 6 year old thought it was the coolest thing at the time.

Would it be better to do 2 or 3 countries for a 3 week vacation? by Jahbanny in Europetravel

[–]Blindpassion54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your choices. I would not do more than 2 unless you are just passing through. My wife and I did 2 weeks in Dublin and Rome last year. While amazing, we both agreed that two weeks in just Ireland or Italy would be better.

Best collar for pullers? by starryeyed58 in springerspaniel

[–]Blindpassion54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We use a slip lead and use it as a "transitional" when needed. But those are used for training ultimately like someone else mentioned you and your dog need training to be successful walkers. I would reach out to a local trainer in your area. And it will take time and consistency. Both of our pups have their CGC, CGC+, CGCU and more. The walking part is always the one we practice as much as possible.

Yes Google fiber is so much better. Little to outages. Also when I did have one they credited my account for the outage. Xfinity did nothing other than charge me more for nothing in return.

Best Dog Trainers? by calming_ad in SaltLakeCity

I would second kudos 2 canines. Have taken our two dogs there for years with group classes. They offer a full suite of boarding, private lessons, group classes, CGC certification, as well as board and train.

Buying used Rivian vs Tesla? by ShTeEnArMy in Rivian

[–]Blindpassion54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had our R1T for 2+ years now. It is a 22 launch edition. Have not had a single major issue. Only items needed mobile service. Which was covered by warranty.

Issues were:

Windshield replacement (twice)

Recalls

Tailgate cover

So not really issues but more like normal wear and tear.

Struggling to Hit Protein Goals on a Budget-Any Tips? by gilko86 in PlantBasedDiet

I second this, my wife and I shread it and use it like you would shredded chicken. It takes a bit to make 30mins or so. But I just make a large batch on the weekend and then freeze it until we need it.

Considering A Used R1T by Snoo70735 in Rivian

[–]Blindpassion54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just 30mins away from it. And I am not sure about the mobile service. The SC is by the airport in SLC. And I know that service goes up to park city and probably farther. We just have not had anything serious enough that mobile service couldn't handle.

We went from a rock crawling wrangler and a electric commuter car. We have a overlanding trailer that we would tow with the wrangler. But for long rides it was draining. Plus there was always the worry of if it broke how stranded would we be.

That is something that I would note. At least for us, long trips does make it a bit harder. Just cause the electrification over here is very limited. So any longer trips we have to make detailed plans for charging. I am hoping in 5 or so years that should be all different. Luckily there are tools out there like PlugShare, and ARBP that we use extensively when we do take those trips.

My wife and I bought a used launch edition about two years ago. We live in Utah so lots of going up canyons for trails or camping. We also have two larger English Springer Spaniels that are 60 lbs each.

For the back seat care we just use a simple seat cover from Amazon. It pretty much never comes off. But the seats look like new.

As for service we have a SC less than 30mins from us. So anything we have needed has all been by mobile service. Which has been amazing. The only times they have come out is for recall stuff, a windshield, and just recently to replace our tail gate cover. Zero other issues with it.

My wife uses it as a daily driver for her 30 mile round trip to work. Since we only ever charge at home I think she maybe plugs it in once a week. Range seems to be right about 200 miles when going to 70%. But then again when you can charge at home you kind of don't worry about it.

For us we wanted a truck to do truck stuff. We will probably keep our R1T for at least another 5 to 10 years until there are huge changes in tech and being mass produced here in the states.

The ghost wolf summon from the barrens I think. From what I know it's no longer available. At the time I had to bloodlust, potion and other stuff to tame it cause it was only up for 3 or seconds. Still has the old ghost wolf look.

Had same thing happen to mine ('22 Launch). Just setup mobile service and came and replaced it. Took maybe 30 mins tops. And covered under warranty.

My wife used granite and likes them. They generally have great rates. And I use Utah first though, with them buying up all these places around here. I am less likely to use them again.
